I'll change my 3 games I've never heard of to 2, since I remember SSX now, but Ico and Katamari Damacy I've never heard of. And which games aren't mainstream? Ninja Gaiden, Braid and Advance Wars. Final Fantasy is only popular within its genre as well, thinking about it now, is 'Sims' even mainstream? So thats 2 games I've never head of and 4 that aren't mainstream but may still be 'popular' to its fan base. And before you answer claiming 'Those four are massively popular', they might be, to their fanbase. Heck, Iron Man the game my be massively popular with its fanbase.
I see I've left out a main few words from my main post so I might as well do the edit here. I meant Bioshock was the only really mainstream FPS game. FPS games are still the most popular games (except for MMOs probably) and they have 1 single player, 1 multiplayer (something I don't like) and a RPG mixture. FPSs hold such a high portion of the market that it is stupid that out of 15 only 3 of them are 'kinda' an FPS. As I said before, to not include COD, Halo or Half Life is just stupid when there are at least 3 RPG games which are popular but not THAT popular in the whole community.
But heck, as I said at the bottom of my original post its just my opinion, so I don't see why you seem to take such offence by it. We might just have a different opinion of 'best'. You might think best means most artistic or whatever, while I think best means, most popular. Since if something is the most popular it simply is the best game since the majority of the people agree about its worth.
Might as well say it again though, so no one else will take random offence. Just my opinion on all of the above. Peace out
