Recently, I accidentally, through a stream of pictures filled with cigarettes and the words "Gentlemen", found myself on the TF2 "Meet the Team Page", and then onto Wikipedia searching it up. As shameful as it is to admit it (as an avid gamer for many years) I have never even played Half-Life, tried Portal, or really gotten deeply into TF2. So, after totally not stealing the game from my friend, I found out that I love TF2.

So, heres my question. I have an Xbox 360 and a PC. I enjoy playing with a controller more than a mouse, but I do know computers. Which should I get the Orange Box for? PC or Xbox? Is the 360 community of TF2 still active to a degree where finding a game wouldn't be a hassle? Does it get regular updates? If anyone could answer my questions it would be a great help =D

PC is still getting constant updates and every class has had about 3 new weapons, Apart from the Engy which is coming soon.

Xbox has had nothing new added and I doubt it has been patched. It was made for PC, get it for PC.

PC for TF2 alone. Team Fortress 2 on the 360 has never been updated. You're missing out on a ton of content if you don't buy it for the PC.

PC PC PC

That is all I can say. I've got both and the PC version is infinitely better at present. If you enjoy using your xbox controller then connect it to the PC.

The 360 community at the moment is shockingly bad. It will take you forever to find a game (as opposed to around 10-20 seconds on PC) and then you only have 6 maps to choose from. Also, I dont think it's had a real update in years, unlike the PC version which gets updated very regularly.

I hope thats helped you decide.

PC!

PC. 360 TF2 is still vanilla, more or less. If you want updates any time soon, for free, get the PC version. Also, you can get the Portal: Still Alive bonus maps for free in their original form for free with the PC version, just look up the Flash Mappack. And if you *must* use the 360 controller, then that is available out of the box (last time I checked). Plus, free Mac version, if you're so inclined.

PC (if you have a good machine). The 360 has a dedicated, small community, but it's really tiny.

Go for the PC as so many more people play it, and it has all the updates.

Not to mention the modding that goes on on the 360, and the lag that tends to happen quite a lot during matches.

PC. No doubt.

Updates more or less every month and the engineer class update isn't too far off now.
Dude, you've got the basics, but try this:

I'd get it for PC, because it's still got a massive following, and has the class updates (soon to be finished). The main reason, however, is because of this awesome group of people [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Escapist-Team-Fortress-2-Group-PC]. Escapist has 2 TF2 servers, and on behalf of the PC clan, we'd love to see you (and anyone else who has TF2 for PC for that matter) down on the servers. We're a pretty relaxed bunch, so don't worry about not being skilled or anything, we're all learning to play better :p

(@ Blizz- see what I did there? Subtle plug ftw :D)

EDIT:

And the PC clan turn out in force :p

PC. I have it for Xbox and it blows compared to the PC version. The xbox version gets absolutely no updates for TF2, AT ALL.

Plus, with half-life 2 you can get all the sweet source games from the community.

P.S. This should be a poll.

Plus the Escapist has TF2 servers, so you can play there with people from here.
85.13.254.51:13013 (UK server, usually people gather around 9pm GMT.)

We're holding a small tournament there at the moment as well.

Yeah like everyone else said if you have a choice go for PC. Half-life 2 and Portal are still about the same on the Xbox but TF2 is just... no. Valve, would it be too much to ask to give the 360 at least a PLAYABLE version of TF2 please?
