Am I the only one who thought this game was easy?
It not that is is really hard, but it has its very frustrating parts.

Remember that waterfront level were you had to get past all the guards?

Oh yeah. That was probably the hardest part in the game along with the racing parts, but all my friends talked about how hard it was but I beat it when I was 10 pretty easily.

I hope I doctored that quote right. Anyway...really? I didn't think MW2 was a particularly difficult game, and I actually found it EASIER on veteran than I did on hardened.

One of my biggest losses was with Wrex in mass effect. He was my best bud and I put so much time into perfecting him, but since it was my first playthrough and I didn't know what to do...the conversation went on too long. I left ashley behind with the nuke. *****.

Losing 30,000 kills in COD4 multiplayer (as well as a full prestige) but keeping all my deaths. My ratio dropped from a 2.53 to a .67.

By the time MW2 came out, I managed to get it back to a 1.70 at least.

Jesus Christ... I'm never playing that game.

I resent any game that makes me feel like I wasted hours of playtime.
Its still worth it. Demon's Souls is hands down in my top 3 PS3 games right behind Assassin's Creed 2 and MGS4.

Nothing can amount to the level of satisfaction gained when you finally beat the ************. Hours of trying to get past it, countless deaths and then finally killing him can easily surpass the feeling of any orgasm and I couldn't have been any nerdier at that moment.
I LOL'ed..... sooooo much.

Well I actually really wanted this game. I think I still want it, but after hearing that I'm pretty skeptical.

Probably losing my first ever high level monk in Nethack. Also the character that got the closest to ascending(winning) since I started playing about a year ago.

I knew it was a risky thing to do and a very bad idea, for some reason I completely missed that succubus.

Sure, it doesn't look like much and I've lost hundreds of characters in that game but every Nethack player will know how much it sucks to lose the first character you knew could ascend.(I know it's technically possible to ascend with basically every character, but I also know there are a few points, from items or where you are, that that character WILL ascend if you don't make a stupid mistake)

dunno about brutal agony, but I'm pretty pi$$ed off that I can't access Tenpenny Tower in Fallout 3 anymore.

During the course of the game, plus all of the DLC's, I saved all my spare loot there. All my clothing, weapons, bottlecaps, spare crap and my 20 collected bobble heads were saved in the Tenpenny Tower apartment. Oh yeah, also the 20 Nuka cola quantums I was saving for some quest...

Unfortunately, now I can't get there myself. Every time I try, the game freezes and I have to reboot. There are threads on the internet about this problem, but the solution doesn't work for me.

There's no way I'm starting that game again, if I want to play it further, I just have to grin and bear it.

Just to clear things up. The Soul level of a character goes up with every upgrade you make to any single stat. These levels will not be difficult to get back as long as he knows where to get enough souls (Level 3-2, shoot the Reaper with your bow, run back to the Archstone, rinse, repeat). The game is by no means "shit". Its one of the best PS3 games out.
I never meant to give this impression of the game, because I love it to bits. And the 2 areas before King Doran are great leveling spots so regaining them won't be to hard. But that moment when he drained my soul level just hit me like a ton of bricks.

This IS one of the best RPGs out there if only for the delicious atmosphere. A wonderful mixture of Silent Hill and Shadow of The Colossus.

Let's see here: it's a tie between Oblivion and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War Winter Assault (the first expansion.)

Oblivion is a great game that I would have totally gone on to finish 100%, if it were not for the leveling system. Oblivion's leveling system made me WEEP TEARS OF BLOOD, for I am a semi-munchkin: I enjoy games like Mass Effect and Final Fantasy X/XII where I can grind myself silly an eventually attain god-like prowess on the battlefield thanks to appropriately used skill points.

Oblivion hates munchkins and wishes to destroy them, and thanks to that I can have no fun with the game.

DoW 40k: WA suffered from having an insane level of difficulty. Pretty much all the later missions in it are like the last mission of Starcraft (managing two armies) on steriods: even more so thanks to the time limits the damn game imposes on you.

Final Fantasy XII. After fighting the big ass dragon. I forget his name. The one with like 50mil HP. So after like 4-6 hours of just letting my characters slog away at the bastard with me having to interfere constantly due to his ***** ass auto death spell, I finally whittle him down to like 1/4 HP. And all my characters of course have their healing gambits set up.
So what does he do? Casts reflect on all my characters then physically smacks them so they use Full Heal... It bounces back to him and instead of having a sane limit for it like 9999, it restores every single fucking point of that 50mil...
I was actually soo pissed I threw the control pad at the TV full force. -.-;
Cheating frack!
Ouch!

Well, to me the characters and story were brutal and agonizing enough without the boss battles.

Indeed, veterain is REDICULOUS. I absolutely hated One Shot One Kill and the stage after that... so, so many deaths... *whimper*

But draining your character level is one of the things a game simply SHOULD NOT DO. Okay, remove experience and possibly de-level if you die, sure, but do NOT give enemies abilities that permanantly reduce your level! Temporaraly, sure, but not permanently.

I knew that Demons Souls was meant to be hard, but that is one of the biggest smacks of FAKE difficulty I've ever seen.

Actually there is level drain in Spire in Fable 2, if you don't do as you are told! Sucks, but you get it back with a little work, no big deal!
My gaming loss was over 60 hours on Pokemon yellow at the hands of my son who apparently didn't take kindly to me hogging his Gameboy Colour or his game! Who knew?

Can't really blame anyone but yourself for that one, should have dealt with it differently ;)
