The perfect console

So I currently own a PS3, a Wii and a 360. I bought them because they all provide me with something that the other console(s) can't provide. But to me, it's sort of a hassle to have three consoles and, of course, different friends in each of them. My wish would be to somehow fusion them all into a single consoles that does it all.

So I ask you, assuming your current console doesn't do it for you, or you just want to improve it, what would be the perfect console for you? What would it have?

For me, it would be:

-Great online interactivity; being able to chat with others at any point while you're using your console (360 does this already)
-Rechargeable/lightweight controllers (PS3 wins this one for me)
-Vast first party games that go from E to M.
-Cheap accessories (headset, chatpad, etc.)
-Being able to play online for free.
-A fast menu/user interface (No lag, menu respond immediately, etc.)
-Motion controllers as an option in games (In other words, don't force me to play Skyward Sword with motion controllers if I don't want to)

I'm pretty sure I have more. And I'm pretty sure I'm being nitpicky here. But...well, it's my dream console. So it's fine, go ahead and be nitpicky too.

Support for mods.

The main reason I bought Skyrim for the PC is because it supported user made mods.

Well I'm just going to cherry-pick things off of current consoles:

-360 controller
-Blu-ray capabilities
-All games for said system (no more console wars!)
-Xbox Live
-Xbox Live's availability of Apps

Uh....you know what, I'm happy with this list. Basically, I want a 360 (new model, the one that doesn't red-ring when you sneeze too close to it) with Blu-Ray and all titles available. I suppose if I'm feeling real feisty that day, you can change it to the Xbox 720 with the above capabilities.

EDIT: It seems to be a prevalent viewpoint in this thread so I'm going to make sure I clarify this point: I do NOT want a PC to replace my console, even if I could get every exclusive for consoles onto said PC. I want a standardized piece of equipment so that I don't have to deal with the tech issues that I always seem to run into when dealing with PC games.

It's funny you mention a PS3, an Xbox 360 and a Wii, yet none of the items in your list seem to point towards the Wii, with the exception maybe of "vast first party games" (i.e. vast Mario titles).

I guess the perfect console would be the one that would play any game for any system ever created, from Atari to PS4/WII u/ Xfail 720. Including bonuses such as PC games and mobile games and... well, any game ever created, really.

Thats at least what I first thougt when I read the title, anyways.

The perfect console would need to be open. The user should decide what software to run on it, and developers should be able to develop for it without permission from the producer of the console.

But I suppose a more correct term for such a box would be a computer. Which makes me wonder, what is your definition of a console?

Not sure if I'd like to merge them all into one.
It woud be positive in some way but it would take away all the competition on the market
So I say keep it like it is. Have 3 big consoles whom compete for the audience and the games, it's healthy ina business kinda way, and I've always been a one console man, the things I can't have on it? Try them out at a friends place or just don't care.
For me the perfect console at the moment is my WiiU, thoroughly enjoying it at the moment!

How about having both a games only and games-and-apps-and-other-stuff model?

I know there's a damn lot of us who don't need all the extraneous clutter on Xbox Live...

Oh, well, yeah. That's the reason. simple reason but it was powerful enough to convince me to get one. I only bought the Wii cause 1. it was cheap at the time and 2. I was curious about at least 10+ first party games. I grew up with a NES and a SNES and I wanted to play Kirby's Return to Dreamland and Skyward Sword and the sort.
I was also curious about motion controllers since I had a bitter experience with the MOVE. Unfortunately, the Wii didn't do much for me regarding that issue. But that's another topic...

Well, I think that one is also open for interpretation. A PC can also be a console, I suppose (And it is). However, I know that if I ever got into PC gaming, I'd want to buy/add some sort of controller because I can't get used to playing with my keyboard.

Heck, there may even be people who might want to make their handhelds better. They're also consoles.

I'd disagree with 'Rechargeable/lightweight controllers' and replace it with a variety of controllers. I can use the PS3 controllers and I know alot of people that feel the same, it'd be nice if they offered different sizes/weights.

Apart from that I'd just enjoy it if was just like the 360 is now but there weren't any exclusives. ALso would need backwards compatability for old games.

I would have to say Xbox, but with mod support and access to every game. If I could add those two features to my Xbox it would basically be my definition of the perfect console.
Also free online wouldn't hurt as long as it was still the Xbox Live online, only free.
[sub] I would pay double for it if it didn't allow people bad for the community in it. Elitist jerks and such. If it did we would have even more idiots going around saying "*platform-name* Master Race" and making the whole community look like douchebags.[/sub]

The PC does all of that. Even the motion controls. Did you know that the mouse detects and uses motion more accurately than any other motion controller on the market? And it's available for as cheap as $2.

Also, the word "fusion" is a noun, not a verb. the word you're looking for is "fuse."

Make a controller with more buttons on the back of it. I have many free fingers. I don't need to be quickly changing between the camera controls and face buttons with the same thumb.

A PC does it all, even when it comes to first party we have all the MMOs, Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo are all exclusive. Except for motion controls.

And they're motion controls. Nuff said.
