I would prefer something like this:

you run around a zombie apocalypse doing missions for people to help stop the zombie problem from helping a supposed witch that claims it's voodoo to a scientist that thinks it's a advance type of flue (of course this is meant to be funny) but fighting the basic zombie to a zombie fire breathing T-Rex. you get a large number of guns from your basic pistol to six shoot grenade launchers. you can also play with friends which increase the zombie count.

sounds like a good idea for a gta mod, this is how games like counter strike are founded.

A quick google shows that there are actually a few mods for GTA4. I remember following one before that got discontinued because they had way too many problems.

It isn't EXACTLY what the OP is looking for, but it may well be the closest you can get.

Also, it hasn't been made yet because it sounds ambitious and not a Health Regeneration First Person Shooter.

You know that a start-up game company by the name of Undead Labs plans on creating a zombie mmo that will probably hit all the notes you ask. While it is still in early development, I see great potential from it and believe that it will give gamers that love zombies something they truly want... it also helps that a necessary part of their application criteria is a love for zombies.

But I have wanted a zombie RPG game, it combines my 2 favourite game types, but unfortunately I just didn't like the gameplay of Deadrising which has in turn stopped me from getting DR2, so I guess I will just have to wait...

It sounds like Dead Rising, but if you added New Vegas' Hardcore Mode. Where can I get a copy? Seriously, though. I'd buy this if it was like Dead Rising, but they actually made it possible to fight the psychopaths without tearing your hair out.

There's actually an Indie game coming out that sounds like this called Dead State [http://www.deadstate.doublebearproductions.com/], although it's turn-based and not released.

Sounds like a love child between Dead Rising and... acctually it's just a bigger slightly more complex dead rising when you think about it.

That's a good point, and I really didn't like Dead Rising anyway.

How many AAA games focus entirely on zombies?

Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead, and if we're feeling generous Resident Evil.

I thought about dead rising immediatly, maybe implementing tha wave system from killing floor in a large scale (maybe synchronized to the day night cycle ?)... Instead of one big sandbox you could have multiple smaller maps linked toghether to make 1 big world. You can freely travel between maps during the day but at night the exits get closed off and you must find a place in the map to hold of the wave ?

you guys do realise that besides paying for the neccessary technologies and audio for a game the only thing that you would need a buget for is to pay employees with and since you are talking about making it yourself that wouldn't be neccessary. You would still need to cover the basic costs like the hardware and the software but you wouldn't require any "budget" of sorts.

Ok, Dead Rising but more focused on the peril and survival of the zombie hordes, kind if it was crossed with Left 4 Dead.

I would be fine Minecraft: Zombie Edition. Build guns and ammo or melee weapons, build shelter, and hunt/fish (you would need food and water on a regular basis), build wells to get water, bridges, all this with your friends in a multiplayer mode. The more time passes the more there will be zombies and maybe few "special" zombies too.

It wold be awesom-o.

I had an idea for a zombie survival game, except you are the very first zombie. As you eat people you regain health and get stronger however you can only eat for so long before they join you. There could be a twist halfway through were you have eaten so much brainss that you become human again, and then have to kill the zombie army you have created.

OMG i have had the exact same thoughts going through my head!it would be great to walk around a city with overturned cars on fire and loot stores and discover pile ups on the highway. the game could start when your at work and your co workers attack you, then you have to get home. you can choose your own shelter, look for survivers and such. itll have a more action rpg style coz choices are important but this is a game for rockstar to make without a doubt

Who knows, it will probably be done at some point, it would be easy enough to do I guess, I would just be like blending borderlands with left 4 dead.

I don't understand why someone hasn't made a game silimar to this idea. Everyone's had it. Most likily part way through development they end up wanting to make something like Left 4 Dead.

I like the idea but the implementation would be tricky in order to keep it interesting.
Would be like an fps version of Rogue Survivor.
