My grandmother used to make a great home-made pumpkin pie. Had it at least every thanksgiving..and at random points during the year. That and lemon meringue pie. Ahh, the memories.

My favorite savory pie would be a tie between steak and mushroom pie and cheeze and onion tart (my mother hates leeks, so had to deviate from the recipe a bit there.) Also really love a good spinach quiche. My favoriet sweet pie would be a custard pie, I top mine with all kinds of things, from brandied pears, to gooseberries cooked down into syrups, but the best (so far) was the one I topped with red currants and champagne grapes soaked overnight in cognac.

I have to say, I have not eaten many pies in my life.

I have eaten a slice of apple pie once, when it was all hot and sticky. It was great, but i'm probably never going to eat another pie again

Pumpkin pie kicks all kinds of ass on a normal day, but after you put about eight gallons of whipped cream on it (can only, for some reason I hate home-made) it becomes an orgasmic delight the likes of which nothing else this world has to offer can compare to. Although banana cream pie and cheese-cake (plain, I find that toppings only sully its creamy-ness) come very close.

Great, now I'm hungry.

Banana Cream Pie is by far my most favorite of the pies. Love that stuff.

Pecan pie is my favorite. Lemmon Merange is best for throwing however.
