Waiting for the upcoming price drop and some good games to come out for it.
This is exactly what I'm doing. Plus it'll give me time to save up some cash to buy it.

Am I the only one here who thinks that the title of this topic sounds like a bedtime story that we would tell to children.

"Once upon a time, there was a Playstation Vita, and one VERY excited gamer who was looking forward to it..."

"But no one would be excited for the Vita!?"

"Look, it's a fairy tale. Do you want me to keep reading or not?"

I had a chance to try the station at Gamestop and it really impressed me. It felt good in the hands and controlled really well.

But I won't buy it until Persona 4: The Golden is released in the U.S.

I've also got the First Edition Bundle pre-ordered. The memory card price is absolutely ridiculous, but the Vita caught my eye at E3, and considering what's packed into it, the price for the handheld itself is pretty reasonable. I just hope my enthusiasm turns out to be well-placed. It certainly sounds like Sony's put a lot into this, and the software library seems like it will be pretty strong. And if the Wikipedia

page is to be believed, it's only going to get stronger. Here's hoping the Vita fares a bit better than the PSP.

I'd like to get a PSP2 (vita is a stupid name) but the price is keeping me from it. And I'm not exactly sure how they plan on treating these digital downloads and such. So while I'd love to have a PSP2 with a dandy shooter/RPG I'm on the wall with it.

Besides I still have a number of dandy games on my PSP/GBASP to beat.

As much as I'd like to get one, I probably have to wait. I'm short on money due to my classes and not working as much as usual. If I can scrounge the cash before it's released, definitely getting one. Otherwise, I have to give it a while.

I'm looking forward to Sony caving in and making them backwards compatible, the only real salvation the Vita has unless - as I've heard numerous times - they put on Monster Hunter games. I've never played MH myself, but I hear this was one thing that made the PSP take off. Without those, I don't really see much point in it all.
So the only point in the Vita is to be able to play PSP games and MH. Screw the incredible hardware, fantastic launch lineup, and all the games in development for it. Nope, all that matters is if it can play UMDs. It's not like the Vita can just play almost every PSP game off PSN, oh wait, it can.

And the PSP only took off in Japan because of Monster Hunter. In other regions it did quite well without it. Look it up, sales were about equal across all three regions even though MH was only successful in Japan.

OT: Already got my Vita payed off. The launch lineup looks like the best in gaming history.

Price drop or Persona 4 The Golden, whichever comes first.

I played Gravity Daze, Escape Plan and a bit of Uncharted and...they're good launch titles, I guess? Launch titles always feel the gimmickiest and most hollow to me for some reason, and I really don't think any game they have on display will tide me over for when the real games begin to appear. Nor am I really killing myself over how phenomenal they look. Though they DO look cool and the thing itself is an excellent piece of kit (even though the analog sticks are gonna be the death of me...)

I wish for once that these consoles would launch with a meaty 40+ hour RPG or two...Games that'll really stick with you for a good portion of the year while the newness of the gimmicks is phased out and less "demo unit" games come out.

I do think it can be an awesome system though. No backwards compatibility and all.
