Starting note : I am not depressed or anything, I am just interested in others opinions.

I've made this post to question you all about the point of life, no one has truly answered the question yet. Probably because nobody actually knows the truth, we all just live through life creating are own version, are own little point to follow... We do it as well, we don't get ask or told to do it, we all just get on with it and go through life following a point we just made up.

I not trying to say I'm different to you guys and pretend I am the only one without a point, as I to have came up with a point in life. I plan to join the army and such with the attempt to create a better world, some people share the same point as me, which is good and I would still like to hear about it. But for the rest of you I wish to bring up the question, what is the point of your life or do you feel that you're just someone who takes life as it is because you haven't understood the point yet.

It's one of Life's great mysteries, isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God, watching everything? Y'know, with a plan for us 'n' stuff. I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night.

ninja'd!

Seriously life is just for living and trying to have a good time with the time you have. Since that means different things to different people, it can't be listed or written down.

I won't claim to know what the purpose of life in general is, because I honestly have no idea. But I know the purpose of my own, and that's to find happiness and hold onto it until the spark fades from my body. As a secondary goal of sorts, I try to do so without ruining anyone else's happiness. Live and let live, etc., right?

Life is the Will to Power and nothing else! *smack*

Seriously though, there isn't an objective point in life.

I guess just to reproduce and to be "happy" and "successful" which are really trite and incredibly hard concepts. The meaning of life is what you make of it.

To procreate.
Follow the biological imperative.
Continue the chain of chemical reactions.
Increase entropy.

Or rather: The idea that life needs to have a purpose is ridiculous in my opinion.
What's the purpose of rock?
What's the purpose of dirt?

Alternatively, it could be 'enjoy yourself'. Simple, sweet, to the point.

Thee was given life, freedom, and a mind, think, explore and experience. -Pajamas modeled after god like clothing.

Basically thats my motto, you are free to do whatever it is you wish, so GO AHEAD AND DO IT!

There is none. Procreate perhaps, but balls to that, I'm going to avoid having children like the plague. To those who have found faith (read: faith, not religion), kudos to you, I'm officially jealous of you. I'm just going to try and learn what I can before I die. It's the half-arsed reason I've given myself for the real world. Otherwise, to take in stories. Books, Tv series, anime, manga, games, dreams... not necessarily films because of the length limit, but I digress. I get up more to escape the real world than to live in it. But I'm not addicted per se, as I see that the long term drawbacks of screwing over my life outweighs the short term benefits. I need to decent job to fund my escapism after all. And to those who will say "your in denial", let me compliment you on being a comedic genius.

Plowing through all the spam.

I'd say it's more along the lines of: let's get through it as fast as we can, learning and inventing so one day we can all ascent to the next phase of exsistance. Like turning us into energy. Or dragons. Or something.

This might come close too.

In my opinion there is no point to life. If we have a purpose, meaning we are here to do something, then we must be doing it for some higher power. That higher power must therefore have a purpose to serve a yet higher power. This will continue possibly for thousands, maybe only for 1 level till eventually we hit a being with no higher power. This being therefore has no purpose, so therefore is pointless. This then makes the being serving him pointless coming back down to us, making us pointless.

It's something you best not think about. I just say enjoy yourself and keep those around you and yourself happy.
Just roll with it.It's all you can do.

Whatever you want it to be.

You want the meaning of life to be purely to procreate so your genes can be passed on? Knock yourself out.

You want the meaning of life to be to worship your particular flavour of deity? If you wish.

You want the meaning of life to be to try and be as happy as you possibly can be? Your choice.

Life has no predefined meaning, unless you want it to.
