Very true. The original idea came apart when it was made clear most Pokemon names ended with the same letters (see OP) and so we would never name 'em all. So instead I added that little caveat about using the next available letter to avoid repetition and make stuff a little more dynamic. This is obviously optional, you can just repeat a Pokemon or use the next available letter contained in the name.

I agree, it is a necessity for some Pokemon since some consonants are never used for the last letter like V,J,Q, etc. No matter what it still makes the game very fun to try to pick out a letter we need, and find a Pokemon no one has named yet.
