The whole Ice cream Pokémon design doesn't actually bother me. I think it actually sort of fits with some of the design that they had in Gen 5 Pokémons, what with a lot of them being a bit urban and man made looking. So an ice cream cone Pokémon fits, if we get a trash Pokémon, baggy jeans Pokémon, workers Pokémon, man made Golem Pokémon, gears Pokémon, Gothic Pokémons, cell Pokémons and so on in the same generation.

It may not look like it, but this is a shot from the anime, an old photo of all the Sawsbuck season forms!

Now this is what I am talking about, a cute Pokémon that is so much better then Pikachu. It looks better, it's also a lot cuter and heck of a stronger then Pikachu ever will be.

I'm a staunch critic of Gen V Pokemon, especially the ice cream trio. I don't like how anthro they've become nor how they are looking more and more like everyday objects. I know, I know, BUT VOLTORB IN GEN I. Well, that was a one-off mishap. Nowadays it's become the norm, it seems.

This is cool, but I want to see MORE interesting type mixes for bugs in Gen 6. Namely Bug/Ground, so far we just have Nincada and crappy Wormadam for that. Bug/Water, too.

EDIT: After a quick check, there admittedly isn't that many more we can go for that would be considered reliable. Bug/Normal is unlikely, but quite advantageous. Bug/Fairy seems promising, but we don't know the matchups yet.

EDIT2: Also, the ice-cream Pokemon were designed by James Turner, and so was Golurk. Stunfisk was designed by Mana Ibe. Just to give my perspective, I like all of these Pokemon, less so the ice cream. To be fair, we should mention that while they have the appearance of ice cream cones, they are actually just ice creatures as seen here. I can see your points Johnny, unlike most staunch critics of the fifth gen you actually bring up good points instead of pure hate. For me every generation has Pokemon I find to be odd or uninteresting, but they don't ruin the rest of the generation for me. There is a question to be had about what constitutes as a Pokemon, but I figure it is up to Gamefreak to decide in the end.

Gen 5 did a great job with getting interesting dual types and designs, you can only have so many bug/flying types before things get stale.

Gen 5 was incredibly kind to Bug types, giving them such variety of dual types and finally making them viable for combat at last. We also got a loads of other interesting combination, such as the Golurk family with it being a Ghost/Ground type. Basicly its a physical ghost which makes it a lot more interesting as Ghost was always a Special attacker in the previous gens.

Actually, I believe ghost was originally a physical type (yup, I confirmed that here [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Physical_move]), back in the Gens 1-3. Bugs were pretty viable from the beginning base stat wise, with Scyther, Pinsir and Heracross, but true, gen 4 added plenty of new bug moves, and gen 5 added plenty of new, strong bugs. I hope if they add a MegaYanmega, they make it bug/dragon, for the lulz.

Guys we've made a HUGE mistake, it started when I posted Shelmet after Escavalier, we skipped a whole lot of Pokemon. My bad! Next up is Foongus!
