If you don't know already, when you get the ps3 version of Portal 2, you also get the Portal 2 PC version.

Though I will not be getting it on release (a bit after it), does anyone know if this is a limited time thing or forever? Like If I buy it in four months, the PS3 getting the PC version will still work?

That's a pretty good question and I wish I had a good answer for you. It is pretty awesome though isn't it? I'm buying it on ps3 just for the PC version. That way my wife and I both have a copy.

Such brilliant marketing.

the PS3 is compatible with steam, so if you get portal 2 on the PS3, you get it on your steam account, and thus can also install it on a PC

Link to this? I have a PS3 and a PC so I might as well just buy it for the PS3 if this is true.

Oh, since it works on steam? Gotcha. I'd still like a link to someplace with the details.

I wonder if you can use both at the same time? Could I play on PC while my girlfriend plays on PS3? We could co-op together maybe, that would be sweet!

That is what they are going for jpoon. You will be able to play co-op between the PC and PS3 versions at the same time, how cool is that!!

If I get the PS3 version unlock my steam version can't I just then sell the PS3 version to someone and make my money back? Figure someone will buy P2 for PS3 for $50.

Wow. That's actually a good deal. On the off chance I somehow get a computer that is able to play any modern PC game, I won't have to buy another copy of the game.

Oh hell yes. I may actually get Portal 2 after all. Probably not when it comes out though.

Unlimited. You buy the PS3 version, link it to your Steam account, Portal 2 appears in your games list ready for you to install it. From there it'll function like any other Steam game.

Its unlimited, don't worry.

And when it says "PC or Mac" version, it means both. Since when you buy a game on the PC you also get the Mac version for free(if it has a Mac version that is).

Thanks. My PSN is kind of wonky and I don't have any friends who play PS3 so I think I'll just get it on the PC.

though it's a linked file, and you can't play on more than one copy at a time, this does mean I can do Co-op with one purchase, and still have it on computer!
Yay!

I shouldn't imagine so, since they're both on the same Steam account and you can only be logged into Steam from one place at a time.

Hmmm...if you buy the PC version, do you still get the PS3 version though? And if not, is there any point to buying the PC version on its own?

I'm not sure that's how it works. To get the PC version, I'm pretty sure you have to link your Steam account to your PS3's account.

Which I will do once I bring home my ps3 copy of the game.
