I watched Jurassic Park two days ago with some friends. The nostalgia hit me so damn hard I almost started crying. I'm dead serious.

Nostalgia holds a great power over me.

I still love and watch DBZ, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Power Rangers..

I'm in the process of playing Might and Magic 7. The game looks like absolute crap, it's like somebody made an RPG out of Doom 2. The game itself doesn't have anything that surprises me any more, I've seen pretty much everything, done everything and the sense of marvel and exploration is gone. And yet, here I am, replaying it for probably the twelfth time so far or around there at least.

When I finish that, I'll go back to playing Blood 2. The game isn't really impressive, it's a straight up old school shooter - just shoot everything until it stops moving and then shoot it some more to explode. As I'm playing it, I'm finding more and more flaws compared to any more modern, and sort of more decent games. And yet I will finish it and then I will play it again some day. Just like I've played it before. Blood 2 was the game that I consider led me into gaming. It wasn't my first game, nor my first PC game, either, but...well, let's say it was my first PC Gamer game.

Nostalgia is just memory it has no real power, it just means your brain is still working. As for music, good music will always be good music, no matter who is remembering it and when. Like any other kind of music, its all personal taste. You'll either like it or you won't.

Nostalgia is poison. And people love it... kinda like cigarettes and alcohol. ._.

I just finished rewatching seasons 1-3 of a show called ReBoot, when I watched it I felt incredibly happy and felt as if I was 9 years old again. Here is the Wikipedia page in case anyone is actually interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReBoot

When I was younger there was a movie I loved to watch, called Quest for Camelot. I loved to watch that movie, it was wonderful.

But when I got older I rewatched it and analyzed it more... And it is total crap. I understand why it flopped as bad is it and why the animators who worked on it wish to never speak of it again(among them the famous Lauren Faust).

But I still enjoy it, mostly because it brings back so many fond memories from when I was a kid. Same with several other old favorites, I realize how awful some of them were. Some of them were just downright bad. But... Still I'm glad I had fun with them. Reminds me that I can enjoy something, even if everyone else doesn't.

Not much, I've got too old for the things I did when I was young to be of much interest. Some of the things I did as a young teenager still have merit now and there's still a few things from my mid to late teens that I still really like but again that's more because they are still fun rather than because I used to like them.

The only thing I could really point to would be music from my early teenage years: late 80's and early 90's death metal, Obituary, couple of Sepultura albums, Deicide, Paradise lost and a few other albums, also jungle/early drum and bass and some hip hop getting to the mid teens...oh, and Future Sound of London albums...and Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works vol II. I guess that'll be it then, music from my early-mid teens. I think that's quite a common one though, I get lots of old people going all misty eyed over songs from their youth at work.

For me Pokemon must be the biggest nostalgia energy I can get.
For me nostalgia often works so that I remember fondly of something but if I go back to try it it won't still be as good as I remembered it to be.
