yea, DaBozz, the only thing the wii motion fits in is in gh where you have to tilt the guitar for star power. at least it's original.

Jump on the andwagon; all the cool kids are doing it!

OT: I own all three consoles, and I enjot them all. But the PS3 is picking up some momentum, as it didn't have much support on release. Abandon it now if you want, or wait and see if anything catches your eye in the coming months.

Alright, to those who said it:
Resistance 2: was a rather good game as a whole, it had an interesting level of immersion but almost no replay ability.
Valkyria Chronicles: Whoever said this was a good game is obviously either a fan of the developers or a very boring person. That being said, it just doesn't suit my tastes and you will not change my mind otherwise.
MGS4: I know that if I say this I will get hate mail up the bum but there just isn't a real stealth aspect about it, it turns to gunplay by the end and to judge it as a stealth game would be to judge solid waste as a cake.
Killzone 2: Don't want a WW2 game in disguise.
INfamous: I may buy it, I will definitely try to, but right now, doesn't look too groundbreaking to me.

all that being said, my PC is better than my PS3 so graphics are generally better looking.

I will not even think about buying a PS3 until there is a major price drop.

I spot a RTGFanboy!

RTG meaning "Rose Tinted Glasses". The RTGFanboy can never accept that any game made less than two generations ago is worth playing, because they aren't. They should have stopped making games after the original Halo. Better yet, DOOM. Better still, Pong! In fact, Games should never have existed! Everyone knows games were far better when we were only imagining being able to play an interactive game via a TV and some form of control interface!

Have fun playing with sticks, RTGFanboy. We all love 7th Generation gaming, and we'll love up right up until Generation 8.

But on the bright side, by Generation 19 or so the PS3 will be cool again, and you'll finally be able to play the games you wanted to play for the past thirty years without making yourself look like a hypocritical douchebag!
Trolling. reported.

Tankenstein:
haha, even then its nothing the PS3 cant do.
the PS3 has SIXAXIS and they dont abuse it like nintendo do.
sure they put it in some games as an extra, but if they built all there games around it
it would be stupid.

The only thing that purchasing Fallout 3 has done is made me realize that sometimes graphics are a good sacrifice for things like storyline and immersion, and yeah, maybe it would be realistic to need to mend your wounds with actual surgical tape, but I still think that the game is better off with stimpaks. But even better is the fact that I ended up buying Fallout 3 for the PC of all things and the graphics are BETTER? thus riding out the only reason why I wanted the PS3 in the first place.
Multiplatform games inevitably look worse on PC due to coding rather than it's power.
Good graphics does not mean anything needs to be sacrificed. Graphic programmes are so well developed now that it isn't hard to make great graphics very quickly.
I think he said that Fallout 3 looked better on the PC, and I think you mean that PC ports perform worse on the PC. Often times, PC ports are an afterthought, which leads to crappy coding and a buggy, low performance game.

Oh shut up. You know very well that gaming is a SOCIAL thing to do. I want to play/talk with my friends, so I'll choose the best way possible to do so. Talking over the phone while playing LittleBigPlanet and they play Gears of War 2 just isn't feasable. If they had a PS3, I'd get one of those instead especially since I don't have much time to talk to my best friend because...

1) We're seperated by nearly a whole country.
2) He's the military.

So yeah, the 'bandwagon' that allows me to talk to my best friend wins.

Hey. I know how we can add gasoline to this flame!

...Nah, bringing the Blue Hedgehog out at this point'd be a pretty low blow.

Note that while I cannot speak fairly because I have an irrational hatred of the PS3 (I'll admit that here), I'll try to be as fair as possible. Ok, here goes nothing.

The PS3 has had a lot of problems since launch. It started out at $600, and then was 'price cut' down to $599.99. That was enough to turn me off. But no. My turn-off was my friend bought an import and it wouldn't last ten minutes before giving the scent of smoke and shutting down to run the cooldown cycle (yeah, he did research into compatibility to his power)
The PS3, at least some of us can agree, has a pitifully small library of games, boosted only by it's predecessors and it's online marketplace. The fact that games will be released over time still doesn't bode well with the fact that we [not me] dished out several hundred bucks for something that can barely play anything at the moment. For that, you'll just need to be patient, though. I expect some awesome games will be released,...eventually.

With those problems said, I'll try and show it a little more positively. The PS3 is a remarkably strong console, and at least one (don't ask me which, I wasn't paying attention) institution are networking around 16~32 of the buggers to test theoretical black hole physics. Supercomputers capable of doing that job would cost a hell of a lot more. Sit down and let that sink in for a minute.

A network of CONSOLES testing BLACK HOLE PHYSICS. CONSOLES, not SUPERCOMPUTERS.

The PS3 can function as a sort of home computer if you can fit an Operating System on it.
So up until this point, I've said that the PS3 sucks as a game console, but it is pretty mighty when you think outside the box with it.

If I buy a PS3 (which I won't), I probably wouldn't use it for games. I'd probably use it innovatively.

/ramble.

Don't be silly. Every bugger says every console will fail. I think the Wii's bubble has burst and there's no denying the PS3 has some serious ground to cover. But it'll survive it just won't be the behemoth that the PS2 was, which let's be fair. Had the place to itself for a long time.

no this is not a hate thread, this is a fact thread.
Here's why I'm saying that the PS3 has died:

Last week I got bored and started playing a PSOne game on it. My other games are lying on the ground dusty (with the possible exception of LittleBigPlanet) and the actual console is starting to die out on me. Here's the problem: the production times for a top-of-the line PS3 game is absolutely unhealthy and has destroyed some of my favorite series (see Ratchet and Clank).

So here is my conclusion: I will probably never, ever buy a sony console again nor any of the games until good reviews start pouring out of the nearest valve (hint hint). Unless perhaps a godlike entity comes into my home and releases God of War and Bioshock 2 right now, I see no reason for me to.

Now why would I make a thread for this? As a former Playstation fan, I will fight against the stupidity *hands rifles to resistance* and fight other fanboys to death.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

do you expect a console to have better graphics than PC's?????????

P.S. this is not a fact thread, its a opinion thread.

I'd also like to add:
This guy said it was a fact thread, then opens up with "I'm saying that..." followed by something which can be only conjecture at this point.

That would be what I intend to do.

There are some nice exclusive games for the PS3, but I think sooner or later the thread poster will become a retro player like I have become. The PS2 simply has a higher value when it comes to quality games.
Yes, the PS2 is older, but how long am I supposed to stare at the PS3 before a game comes out?
Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, plenty of others I'm too lazy to type out.

You have not met my PC.
Aside from some crashes/glitches it's been working fine.

You found this surprising? Gaming PCs have better graphics than consoles. Always have, always will.

I wonder when Indigo Dingo will make a mention on this thread.
He must be busy.

I still like the ps3 better because it actually has exclusives. Most of the 'exclusives' on the XboX are also available on the PC. Whereas many of the Ps3 exclusives are ONLY on the ps3.

Wee. Anyway this thread is silly but here I am.

NOT Always.

There are some people (myself included, up until a month ago) who can't afford a decent gaming rig with good graphics.

A console version of a game is perfect for these people. With a PC, it's touch-and-go with your settings. "Will my graphics card support this?", "How far can this go before I get framedrop?", "What's making it crash?!".

Every console is exactly the same, so nobody will have those problems, and they get a decent game with decent graphics and a decent framerate upkeep.
