Found the PSP Dpad slightly better than the PS3 Dpad as it is far less spongyI havent tried it against the PS1 and PS2 but I expect it is more responsive.

NES/SNES Master Syatem and Mega Drive D pads were excellent as long as you were going in a set direction if you wanted to do a half circle a few times well then prepare for pain and as such they were pretty poor overall for fighting games. I used to play a lot of these games on them but the PS1 had a much better D pad for this purpose and overall I believe Sony have made the best D pads or at least the ones that have given me the least blisters.

Im not to keen on the analogue nub for the PSP but the D pad I would agree is one of if not the best D pad out there (Vita excluded as I havent had a chance to play it yet)

I absolutely despised the d-pad for the PSP. I hated it so much along with the equally terrible analogue stick.

It felt more than weird. The feel of the buttons themselves and how far they compressed was awkward for me.

The Nintendo Gameboy SP had by far the greatest d-pad to have ever existed. LONG LIVE THE GLORIOUS SP.

Have to respectfully disagree, I don't really like Nintendo d-pads, they're far too small and they feel too stiff. The N64 d-pad for example just felt like a solid lump of plastic and it felt like it was barely moving. It felt really off.

Now don't get me wrong the GameCube controller is probably my all time favourite controller (if it had a left Z button and clickable analog sticks it would be near perfect) but d-pads aren't Nintendo's strong suit IMO.

The best IMO is definitely

I like the DualShock 2+3 d-pads too (not the original DualShock mind, that one's almost as bad as the N64 d-pad).
