Anyone here like RAzorfist? https://www.youtube.com/c/TheRageaholic#_=_

I discovered him a few months ago, and I've taken a liking to him. He has a very dark sense of humor, and makes a lot of good points about the games he reviews. Despite his acerbic demeanor, he strikes a good balance between talking about the positive and negative parts of the games he reviews, and is usually pretty detailed in his analysis.

So what do you think of him?

Tried watching a Star Citizen video and didn't much like the voice. Just not for me, I guess.

He takes a little getting used to. It took me listening to him in none rant Razorfist mode to really get a handle on him and understand his style.

At times he can still come off as a non-conformist but I enjoy his stuff most of the time.

I check in on his channel a few times a month to see what's new. He can be too abrasive at times for my taste, and the illustrations he uses can be rather...explicit (I learned early on not to watch his videos while eating). That said, I can still appreciate where he's coming from most of the time, even if I don't always agree. He puts a lot of thought into his arguments, and he's actually quite the eloquent speaker.

I also check out Jim Sterling's channel about as often, despite the no doubt mutual distaste they have for one another (Razorfist certainly despises him). Despite their ideological differences, I actually find them to be quite similar in their presentation. Besides, I think it's good to hear what the "other side of the fence" has to say every so often.

I like his voice and his metal-head-ness, and he does make some good points, but he prattles on about the "SJ dubyas" too much for my taste so I moved on from him

On a sort of related note I've been watching the Angry Joe Show and really enjoy his stuff

I've been a fan of Razorfist for a few years now. I don't always agree with him, but his off-the-cuff and nigh-flawless deliveries of his rants takes some real talent and wit, making his videos very entertaining to watch.

As far as rants go, his skill in delivery far surpass both Jim Sterling and Yahtzee. I'd call him underrated, but his aggressiveness makes him hard to recommend.

But I can definitely recommend a few things. Anyone who disagrees with his stances and opinions should still take the time to check out his hilarious movie reviews. But more importantly, his Music Mythos series. He takes a few bands and artists and gives a well-researched recounting and review of their entire discography. Talking about not only the music itself, but also the conditions bands were in a ton of background information I never heard before. He covers things from Motorhead, to Michael Jackson. Definitely worth a watch if you love music.

I disagree with him on a regular basis, however I do enjoy his content and I do like to throw his New Vegas video as people who are under the illusion that it's better then Fallout 3.

I do. He is definitely not for everyone but if you have a high tolerance for black and take-that humour, you can find enjoyment in his overly verbose, motor mouth delivered snark over some rapid-fire stream of consciousness images editted into a video. Also his Music Mythos series is great at helping me pad out my music playlist as well as gain some greater appreciation for the bands I already enjoy.

Ugh. Yet another bitter, angry Youtube kid with a camera. All that's missing is a poorly maintained beard and a nasal voice. Maybe a plastic skull in the background.

Credit where it's due though, his delivery is fantastic.

No man Razorfist is nothing like that at all. I understand his presentation can put people on the wrong foot but his rants and reviews have a depth and both historic and intellectual complexity I haven't seen anywhere else on youtube. Like a previous poster said Razorfist's skill level far surpasses that of Yahtzee and Jim but it's draped in this thick '80's metal persona. His vast sphere of knowledge transcends anything from movies to history to politics to society to the changes in global pop culture through the ages.

I've been a fan of Razorfist for years eventhough I quite often disagrees with his reviews or opinions. The guy just draws unbelievably funny parallels and verbally rapid-fires media fads and contemporary social phenomena into total oblivion.

Razorfist should dedicate some of his talent to mainstream media or something. His words can cut through the bullshit like nothing else. God *fucking* speed! :p

It's a character. He recently was on an episode of Drunken Peasants (where he and PaulsEgo had probably one of the most substantial discussions I've heard in a long time about gun control here: https://youtu.be/Cmr0at2sQpU?t=19m36s ) and the only real thing that links him with the persona in his videos is sense of humor.

I like a good amount of his videos. However, he's an ass and comes off as a bit racist. But he has talent.

I've watched a bunch of his videos. Can't say I'm a particularly great fan. It's the delivery, it's not that he doesn't say worthwhile things about games, but like most of the people who are saying those things, you could probably think of them yourself, and someone else out there is surely saying it. For what it's worth, there's a lot of decent stuff in his Deus Ex videos, if you can sit through them.

It's just so cringeworthy. The always angry negative demeanour, I mean, we've all seen it before, and it got old before the second episode of the Nostalgia Critic. The histrionic hysterics just make you embarrassed to be a part of the same scene as the man. He's on a level with Jim Sterling or Moviebob, you literally can't watch these videos around anyone who isn't a fairly hardcore gamer. And his insistence on trying to start beef with more successful, cringeworthy "nerd" videomakers just reflect really, really poorly on him. Most of us are old enough to know that beef is just cross promotion, except that I'm not aware that anyone he's spent significant portions of time to insulting has actually spent any real time speaking back to him, which is the ultimate diss.

And yeah, he seems like a deeply unpleasant person with some rather unsavoury beliefs that come to the surface with remarkable frequency. Guess he's "edgy", but there's nothing there that Yahtzee hasn't delivered better. I wish there were more commentators that just weren't so embarrassing to put up with. I can't say I like Totalbiscuit much, but credit where credit's due, you don't feel like quite as much of an idiot as watching some idiot with a nazi podium and a costume or pretend misanthropic tendencies.

I did watch some of his videos. Not a fan of them, even though I agree with him. I do not mind the negativity but he have no charisma or self-awareness. He seems to be a very intelligent guy but his delivery is horrible.

Youtube really is the proverbial "Hive of scum and villainy" if scum and villainy were neckbeards and assholes.

Yeah I like him. He's entertaining and interesting, if not slightly contrarian. But I also believe a bit of contrarianism is healthy.

Jesus, the guy really does hit the gamergate/MRA/RedPill-pandering button hard, doesn't he? When he isn't doing that, he does seem fairly erudite, surprisingly well-spoken, and coherent. That is, when he isn't being an elitist ass...

Also, the "Angry Nerd" thing? Way too played out, god-damn.
