I still own a factory sealed copy of the special edition of Earthbound. The one that came with the strategy guide. Its sitting comfortably in a safety deposit box at my bank.
That, actually was the only version of Earthbound. All copies of it came in the giant box.

Rarest game I have is Gotcha Force.

I can't say exactly how rare it is, but it took me a while to find in any store and cost $35 after Gamecube era, so yeah.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. A friend of mine got it for me as a present. He actually found a new copy at a Gamestop for $19.99. NEW.

I found mine at a local Gamestop for under $20. Used though. Great game, so lucky I managed to find a copy when I did.

As far as I can recall, the rarest game I have is Tombi. I don't have the box or the instructions, though (not that I'd ever sell it).

I'm pretty sure it's rare but I have an original copy of Metal Gear Solid the twin snakes on gamecube. Many people have seemed surprised that I have it at all. (That maybe only here in New Zealand though)

Probably Sanvein for the PS1.

I honestly don't know how famous/common that game was outside this continent, but it was pretty rare over here.

Either that or Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds, PS1.

I don't have many rare games, per se, but I have a few which I'm proud of and which you'd rarely see in a brick and mortar shop, such as FF7, Okami on PS2 and Persona 3. And yeah, none of those games are exactly rare.

Cool question...

There are a couple some rarer than others... Probably got some that folks would consider "just rare" that don't have much in the way of merit... so these seem desirable outside of that.

Though I am sure that many folks have several games that are in the "never part with" stack for whatever reason... cheers!

I know and have played Norse by Norsewest! That game was fun! :D

I think the rarest game I have is Burn Cycle. I don't think it was particularly popular when it came out. Does anyone know it?

I dunno. I'm not sure how to tell. If its based simply on how hard it was to get either Veiwtiful Joe or Gotcha Force, both were hard for me to get my hands on though their not really rare.

hehe well, when I bought it, many years ago, I had it for PC (specifically for a Tandy), it is a science fiction 2d fighting game. Probably find it on abandonware or GoG or something... for free or close to that price.

As far as a money game though... easily for return on investment Panzer Dragoon Saga... (my copy being immaculate and complete)... been going for 150~350 bucks...

PC Gamer did a retrospective on TotFM a couple months back... probably find a linky to that somewhere on the webz...

I don't know if it qualifies as rare, or even good to many people, but I've got a CD of Monsterseed that still runs quite well. It's kinda like pokemon but people actually go kill each other instead.

I have a copy of Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 Plus for the Gamecube. They run for a hundred bucks or so on Amazon used.
