After consulting friends about the structure and plot of RW6 I have discovered a flaw that could grind the RP to an indefinite halt, so I'm going to take a day or two to fix it and end RW5.

This will detract from the suspense of my final piece, but I have decided to announce the victor now for Shanks' sake and get the rest up as soon as possible.

[HEADING=2]Winner: Zombie_Fish[/HEADING]

Thanks to everyone for competing, I hope you can all compete in the next installment of The Ratings War, and it's been a real treat to read through all of these great entries - particularly the finale.

I'll see you all ASAP.

See, now I feel perfectly alright about losing first round. I came up against the future champion. I never stood a damn chance. :D 'Grats, Piscene.

Congrats to both Zombie_Fish and Armitage Shanks for making it to the finals and a great read no matter who won. Grats to Fish for winning.

On another note would you be able to say what kind of theme will be present in RWVI Krunk?

I did have something to say within which I made reference to Kate Winslet's Oscar speech and talked about me doing versions of this speech when I was eight years old, but that post was destroyed, so here's a bunny with a pancake on its head here's something a bit more serious than anything bunny related.[footnote]Seriously, the forums weren't allowing new threads, new posts, I couldn't even use my mod powers for a while last night, which is why this reply is so late.[/footnote]

This has been an amazing experience for myself. I was happy enough having just reached the semi-finals back in January, but to have become the winner is a completely different experience.

Thank you everyone for the praise me and Shanks have been recieving over the past few days, thank you to Krunk for running this tournament in the first place, thank you to the judges for keeping the RP running smoothly and for somehow finding quality in my work, and a big thank you to the competitors, especially Armitage Shanks and revolverwolf, for pushing me to write this stuff. I have had a great time both writing and reading these entries and I hope to see you all again in RW6, when that comes up.

For those that are wondering where the hell I went, please know that it's all done. The reason it hasn't been posted yet is because my download cap died at the most inopportune time and for some reason this thread in particular always hates loading at 5kb/s.

I'm writing this on my iPhone at the moment.

RW5 will end (and, subsequently, RW6 will begin) on the 24th at the latest - that's when it comes back and I can copypasta this biznitch up.

I'll see you there.

EDIT: In the mean time, how about that whole Libya thing? Yikes.

So I'm assuming something has interfered with the next Ratings War coming up?
I talked with Krunk about that yesterday:

@Zombie_Fish: It's he worst thing. I showed the draft of the plot outline to a few of my friends, and one of them pointed out a glaring flaw that I had to fix. It's long since fixed, but I haven't had a chance to finish rewriting the opening due to both time constraints (work) and more time constraints (friends).

What's more, my parents have left me with a huge house to myself for the month. Keeping the place maintained has been an absolute joy.

That said, shenanigans have, and are certain to, ensue.
Plus, he also now has a second job, so there are reasons for this taking so long.

Ah I figured it would be something to that extent, for the record not trying to rush but rather checking in on a very fun thing

Hey, I know this ain't the first time you've been asked this, but I just really hope you haven't forgotten about it... I'm sure it's important to a bunch of other people as well, but personally I've been looking forward to this for a while, so I thought it'd be worth reminding you, just in case you forgot... So, yeah, here it is:

Could I get that review for my round 1 entry of RWIV at some point? It's been about 18 months...

EDIT: Sorry, that was a joke; I don't really care about that any more. How's progress with Round VI coming along, by the way?

RW5 is done. The final piece to wrap it all up will come out shortly after RW6 begins, so everyone can just duck through to the next one seamlessly.

...well, somewhat seemlessly, considering the wait I've put you all through.

For that I am incredibly sorry. There are various reasons for it - holding down 2 jobs, my free time being consumed by my friends, girlfriend or spacing out after work, a fantastic couple of months for videogames and my parents leaving me with a 2-storey house to looks after for a month. It's only recently that the chaos has started to die down and I have been able to have the capacity for creative work. And even then, it's mostly been finishing writing a webcomic that I can't draw (yet). I can safely say that you won't expect that to crop up any time soon.

My RW6 stuff is in the proofreading phase as we speak - that is all I can really say for now.

Apocalyptic fantasy. There is a motif but you'll find out soon enough.

I would very much enjoy participating in the next one. I am a writer and I have a particular favorite for writing action bits and emotional turmoil in characters. I think It would be a lot of fun.

What's that? Krunk is back? For reals? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.316635-The-Ratings-War-VI-Aces-High-Applications-Due-October-21]

It's time, guys. For those who still have this thread bookmarked, thank you so much for your patience. I will PM all the players of RW5/people who have expressed interest soon, just in case they do not see this.
