The REAL Problems With FF13

My problems with FFXII so far (Just got on Gran Pulse)

The battle system- While it started off good, it seems the system overall was just meant for purely aesthetic reason, basically making it look cool. The job system and paradigm shift system are very welcome additions, but the fact that the game has taken away almost all control hurts. You can't control your teammates, leading the AI to have them do things that I deem to be silly and ineffective. The control thing was one of the huge perks of turn-based combat for me. I also hate hate it almost seems like you can control your characters movements, but still can't get your character away from the tank while a dragon is steamrolling both of them with fire.

The plot line is somewhat fresh, a little same-old same-old, but not bad.

The characters- I only play with three characters. Lightening, Sazh and Fang. Why? They're the only characters I can usually stand. I got used to Vanille in around 5 hours, but Snow seems to be unable to go five minutes without making some overdramatic "for the gipper" speech about how it's their duty to save Cocoon and Serrah. "If we believe hard enough, and with a tiny pinch of magic, anything you wish can all come true" kind of gets annoying after awhile. And Hope seems like he's one dropped ice cream cone away from slitting his wrists.

All in all, so far it's a good game, just not good for a Final Fantasy game. It seems like a weak spot in the series to me. But that's just from my limited experience

My problems with FF13.
1) Vanille.
2) Combat..or rather, the lack thereof. You press x and watch the computer kill everything before the one person you control can do anything. Fun.

4)Shopping from save points. How the fuck does this make sense? I thought this game more than any others was supposed to be "immersive". Couldn't I at least shop from....I dunno, a Slum or something? I actually am starting to miss 12.....Balthier...I miss you....
5) Not being able to kill off your party members....namely Vanille.

played about 5-ish hours. Combat has yet to get more complex then pressing auto attack and switching my healer on and off. With no end of this in sight and only a new corridor as the motive to go on (hate everyone in the whole damn cast, made a gallery to explain why http://www.facebook.com/editalbum.php?aid=13613 ). I have patiance but to be honest I got more pleasure from superman 64, no joke.

Not to mention it make combat super mega easy. I can use phoenix down as much as i want b/c it does take time to use and I can restock in like 10 minutes.
