All you need to do is have a nice server that bans perks you dislike-- Oh wait you don't have servers hahaha. Us tards with free online must really be noobs. Also, with server you rarely get people with pings higher than 100 because you can chose the server you want based off of map, gametype, ping, and more. But no, you deffinitely are getting your money's worth.

True, but pc gamers are a different breed to console gamers. Being a console gamer is more of a fad now, so you get people who dont know anything. On pc you dont have to worry about this much. In my personal experience I have found people who know what their doing and have fast connections on pc, while with my xbox I find noobs who dont know how to play and people who are so slow you cant even move.

Granted I don't own an XBox so this can't have to much of an effect on me one way or another.

But you don't play on Steam servers. You play on privately owned servers that moderate themselves, apart from Valve aside from the Anti-Cheat (VAC) system.

For $50 a year, I don't think it's a question of whether or not someone is poor. Plus, even if you have a bad connection, you can still pay $50 and play. Live doesn't discriminate.

Frankly, I don't see why anyone has to pay for Live. It doesn't cut down on the morons, the servers still suck, and now, Microsoft is even running ads through Live to make even more money. As I stated before, as soon as my subscription runs out, I won't be renewing it. It's seems as if the well adjusted video gamers are doing the same thing too because all I seem to meet are morons.

The reason Xbox live should never be free is because of the cheap people and the down-right stupid people. If Xbox Live was made free millions of people would flood servers with the worst, laggiest internet connections known to mankind (and Peter Molyneux)! It would be the worst video game crisis since Wii music! It would be absolutely horrific! So I'm fine with paying monthly to have fun with friends that have Comcast and not Crapcast. Do you think Xbox live should be free after reading this?

I'm not poking fun at poor people I'm just saying if you can't pay the fee then don't get XBL and if you have a bad internet connection and play on the PSN your probably the reason I made this thread.

I have to say i got a 3 month card a while back and ive played a tops of 20 days and its almost up im just a little sick of what i have to deal with on live to o any thing any more

So I'm fine with paying monthly to have fun with friends that have Comcast and not Crapcast.

Compared to my old Insight Roadrunner I had when I was back in Ohio, my Comcast connection here in Utah blows. Making you pay for Live doesn't make the service better. It helps Microsoft offset the costs of having the network running. It's the same reason why you have to pay monthly for most MMOs. You're paying to keep the network running. If anything, I'd say that paying for Live is a waste. You can get the same gameplay elsewhere for most non-exclusive games and similar quality of service for free.

I used to play Diablo II online a lot. Those severs were free and I'd only have lag issues with people, not servers. Same thing goes when I'd play Battlefield 2 online. Paying for a service that I can otherwise get for free is a waste of money in my eyes.

Touche, I suppose, I see no reason why M$ couldn't do the same. Granted I'm no authority on it. But that still doesn't rule out the free servers have been successful before.
