had to make a post about this if you haven't heard the next Mario kart (Mario kart 8)
will have a anti blue shell item! the new item the super horn will be capable of destroying a blue shell aimed at you! no more cheap shots!

It kind of went by quickly and it didn't really show menus for single-player but it looks like for MP you can pick to use specific items, all items or, no items. This was what got me the most excited to be honest as I've been wanting that to be a feature since the Mario Kart Wii.

It needed balancing but unless they make the counter item really rare then they've killed Mazza Kart. Lightning and Blue shells were the random factor that made races fun even between differing skill levels.

Any consolation, people usually get Blue shell OFTEN, I doubt the first place person is going to get a horn every time they hit an item block... There is still going to be cheapness!

True, true, it's not as if they are going to be blocking every blue shell that comes their way. As soon as they block one, there may be another right round the corner...
