Recently, my girlfriend dumped me. I'd rather not go into the reasons, but let's just say it left me pretty devastated. It's been about a month or so, but I still get some unpleasant pangs of loneliness. Does anyone have any tips on getting over someone, outside of getting another girlfriend?
Accept what happened.

You may sulk for quite a while, but as humans we need to be able to learn progress in life.
Getting a new girlfriend isn't that.
Getting drunk won't help.
Having a one night stand will worsen it.

Do something productive like work but make sure you are not completely hiding from the pain. Life's a *****, but if you learn from your experiences you won't have to relive them.

But whatever you do...
Accept what happened.

First off, /hug.

Delete her number from your phone, Block all contact you can make to her. Console in a close friend (that isnt going to stab you in the back).

Gaming is fun. Sleeps can good, but watch out - dreams can be nasty sometimes.

Time heals all wounds.
Lies. Time makes mine worse.

OT: Well, think of it this way, you gave up trying to get her back, so therefore she isn't important. Simple.

Well, when my girlfriend broke up with me, I was sad the first day, and then I just focused on school and friends. It definitely helped me.
When I broke up with my girlfriend, I was sad for a while but she was still nice to me and she bought me chocolate, so that makes everything better. In all seriousness, just go and hang out with your friends or something. The worst thing you could do right now is isolate yourself.

Usually reading, gaming, and reassuring myself that it's not the end of the world usually helps me.

I think the first couple of days afterwards it's best to just hang out by yourself. Get your tv seasons ready, some grog/junk food and just get your feet under you a bit before you start hanging out with friends. Human interaction the first couple of days afterwards can be brutal.

Man up and tell "screw that".

If she dumped you, she didn't love you. Why care about someone who fakes feelings?
