"Oh, okay. We'll just heal our Pokemon and then head to the Pokemart. That's what I'm going to do, at least." Aeris said and kissed Mika's lips softly for a moment, then kept walking slowly with him.

They reached the Pokecenter and entered it. Aeris gave the nurse her Pokeballs and so did Mika. They sat down while waiting for their Pokemon to be healed up and Aeris rested her head on Mika's shoulder. "I think I'm ready to take him on. Try out that new move of Blaze's on Brock's Rock Pokemon, and use Tristan's Confusion. Don't know how effective it will be, but we'll see." She wrapped her arms around his midriff and hugged him from the side.
Sorry about the minor character control. It was just such a minor action that I had him do it in my post. You can have Aeris pick up her Pokemon in your post if you want to.

It was a productive bit of time in the bushes for Jordan's crew. Vince and Spike had taken down numerous "challenging" Bugs in the grass outside the city, he started heading back at the same time as the other travelers were getting back from their own training. They met up with Fary at the Pokemon Center but Simon was nowhere to be seen. He didn't go out with anyone else, so no one knew where he was. Reasoning that he must have went off on his own somewhere. Aeris had wanted to stop at the Pokemart, so a quick stop was made so she could purchase some Pokeballs, Potions and Antidotes. Jordan stood outside, the meager amount of change he earned outside the Musuem nowhere near enough to pay for anything inside.

After a short walk, the group arrived in front of the imposing Pewter City Gym, the stone gray paint on the outside proclaiming the kind of wall that opponents would be facing inside. The sign in front proclaimed "Leader: Brock - The Rock-Solid Pokemon Trainer." There were no windows, just pure stone.

Jordan looked up at the imposing fortress. "Whoa...uh...what's inside, do you think? Money?"

"What's inside is our first major challenge as Trainers," Rochelle answered Jordan. "And I dunno about you guys, but I think my Pokémon and I are ready to take up that challenge." She stepped up to the door of the Gym; there was no handle. Instead of opening it herself, the door slid aside to allow the group to enter. Rochelle looked up at the top of the door frame and noticed a familiar black motion detector, common among self-opening doors.

Taking a quiet, deep breath to steel her nerves and mentally prepare herself, Rochelle walked through the door and entered the Pewter Gym. Brock's choice of decoration was consistent with his preferred type of Pokémon: stone blocks and boulders were everywhere, arranged as if to resemble the inside of a cave or mountain pass. However, they were arranged so that a challenger could walk down the middle of the Gym unimpeded. Two statues of a Pokémon Rochelle didn't recognise stood near the entrance, one on either side of the gap in the stone layout.

As Rochelle stepped out of the doorway, placing herself between the statues to allow the rest of the group to walk in behind her, she could hear some kind of fanfare-esque music playing over hidden speakers throughout the Gym. She decided that it was kind of catchy after listening for a few seconds while waiting for the others to catch up.

"Well Jordan, there's money if you beat Brock, but that's about it," Tyler replied as he followed Rochelle into the Pewter Gym. Tank and Blitz followed him inside, both Pokemon looking uncertainly at their new surroundings. Tyler came to a stop next to Rochelle and paused for a second. Was that...music? "Uh...what's with the music?" he thought aloud.

As Terinth walked into the Gym, she almost immediately heard an annoying song. "I don't know, Tyler, but it just better not stay like this. So, are we going to go in a specific order? Because I'd like to go last." Terinth said to the group.

Aeris took a deep breath before stepping inside the Gym. It looked impressive to her, and she wondered if the other Gyms would be decorated the same. She looked all around it, the rocks fascinating to her. She went over in her head the moves Blaze and Tristan knew and wondered which ones would be good against Brock's Rock Pokemon. She knew from what Gary had said that Fire types weren't effective against Rock Pokemon, but she wondered if her new move, Metal Claw, was effective against them. Confusion would be better against them than Tackle for Tristan.

"Oh, if you guys don't mind, I would like to go first. Unless someone else wants to start." she said to the group. She was eager to fight another Trainer, other than her boyfriend Mika. She needed the experience of fighting another Trainer, anyway. And beating a Gym Leader would be a big confidence boost for her. Plus, she felt that Blaze was about to evolve, and it would be sweet for her if she evolved after beating a Gym Leader.

In response to Aeris's comment, Rochelle pulled out her wallet and fished around in the pockets for a coin. Holding it up, she asked, "If you want to go first, I don't mind. Unless, of course, you wanna flip for it?" She grinned, excited by the prospects of challenging Brock and a little nervous about facing off against another Trainer.

As soon as she finished speaking, Natalya stole the coin out of Rochelle's hand and held it in her beak. She tried to pick at a feather on her wing, and the coin promptly fell out and back into Rochelle's hand. Rochelle ruffled Natalya's feathers in a friendly manner with her free hand before turning back to Aeris.

As the group of seven made their way inside the Gym, the music kept blaring. "Dude, that music's not that good," Jordan noted. As they got closer to the mound of giant boulders, laughter was heard.

"Hahaha! So a new group of trainers has coming to challenge my gym have they?" the voice said seemingly from nowhere. "Well, I guess I will have to show you all that taking the Pokemon League challenge is not going to be an easy road. I guess I'll have to teach you what it means to go up against the unmovable object! I guess I'll have to show you what happens..."A young man leaped on top of the biggest bolder in the gym, he was about 25, with spiky hair and brown skin, his eyes wide shut. He appeared with his arms folded across his chest and spoke. "...when you mess with the Brock-star!" He stood triumphantly, positively beaming over his lame entry line until he shot off the boulders like a cannon towards the group. Jordan was a bit worried that he was going to take them down until he stopped in front, scooping up the hands of Fary, Aeris and Rochelle. "And I guess you three fine ladies can call me Lover-boy!" He whispered to Terinth. "Not you. Come back in 2 years."

Jordan just stood there staring at this strange man. "Dude, wha?"

Aeris retracted her hand from Brock. She didn't particularly like this attitude of Brock. "Sorry, but I'm already taken. I would, however, like to challenge you to a Pokemon battle. I will go first out of everyone in this group." She stood confidently against Brock, waiting for an answer.

Fary blinked and smirked. "We'll maybe an arrangement can be made." Fary flirted some not caring that Jordan was around to hear her. "But I would like to face you second for a Pokemon battle. You haven't seen a Unova girl battle yet." she smirked flirting more with him.

Rochelle immediately pulled her hand away from Brock, having no interest in someone who tried to hit on three girls at once. She had no experience with being in a relationship, but that was clearly not the way to go about it. She said as much to Brock, then held up Kirsten's Poké Ball and added, "I will also be challenging you, although if these two want to go before me, I can wait until their battles are concluded."

The protective Natalya shot a slightly angry Leer in Brock's direction from Rochelle's shoulder. She kept quiet, however, not wanting to interrupt Rochelle or any of the other humans. She knew her place, but disapproved of Brock immensely.

Brock's entrance and horrible pun left Tyler a bit more confused than impressed. The Gym Leader definitely had some nerve to be able to simultaneously make passes on three girls. Unsurprisingly, Fary fired right back with some flirting of her own. Perhaps those two could get along nicely, he thought. After Rochelle spoke up, Tyler cleared his throat and decided to say something as well. "Uh...I'm Tyler Page from Saffron, and I want to challenge your Gym as well," he said meekly. Even though Brock was much more bombastic than he was intimidating, he was still feeling a bit of the pressure.
On either side of their Trainer, Tank and Blitz stood confused, reflecting Tyler's own puzzlement.

"Piiii...ka?" Blitz mumbled, his head quizzically tilted to the side.

"...ran?" said Tank, a bit too dumbfounded to say anything else.

Brock was a bit disappointed by the redheads' reactions but he was used to this kind of rejection from the fairer sex. There was a possibility with the blond though. That was a nice change. He sighed. "All right fine, but let me explain how this works now, so I don't have to explain it seven times, OK?"

He backed away from the girls and made his way back towards the battlefield. "OK, now at the Gyms of Kanto, since we get trainers from all over the world, with all kinds of Pokemon, all Gym Leaders have a massive variety of Pokemon to battle with. Since you guys are all newbies, I will be using my weakest Pokemon to face you. Don't worry about overwhelming me, I have plenty. They will all be around your level, since my actual team would demolish you all. All battles will be a 2 vs. 2 affair, first person to knock out both the opponent's Pokemon will win. If you do win, I will give you a Boulderbadge as well as TM39, Rock Tomb and a cash prize. I would like to see that happen though. Now," he pointed at Aeris, "you wanted me first Red? Well you've got me first sweetheart. I'll win you over yet."

He walked over the the other end of the field where a machine rose out of the ground, holding an inordinate amount of Pokeballs. He quickly selected two from the rack as it lowered itself back down. "All right are you ready challenger?"

Jordan looked over at Fary as the Gym Leader took his position. Dude, she's interested in him? Maybe that means she likes three ways? I wonder if Julie's down for that sort of deal... He was lost in thought as the first of their group was set to fight.

You guy will be handling your own gym battles, there won't be any back and forth or anything like that, that would take too long. You've seen how I've characterized Brock, so try and keep to that in your posts. Also, don't just go epic god mode in your posts either, I want to see good, entertaining fights. I'm expecting wins, but if you want your character to suffer the loss, perfectly fine with me.

Brock's Pokemon available for battle: Geodude (pretty well default), then your choice of Onix, Rhyhorn, Bonsly or Larvitar.

"Kick some ass, girls!" Mika said with a smile, ready to cheer the girls on and get a look at Brock's fighting style. Bones and Toxina were sitting next to him, watching the Gym Leader and wondering how he was going to handle the first battle, and which Pokemon he was going to use.

"Ah ha ha ha. Fuck you." Terinth thought to herself, keeping a straight face, making sure Brock didn't get the best of her. Terinth walked over to Rochelle, seeing her Murkrow shoot a disapproving glance at Brock.

"God, I haven't heard him talk for more than five seconds, and I already want to kick his teeth in. What about you?" Terinth asked.

"I'm not so quick to judge other people, Terinth," Rochelle answered, leaning up against one of the stone blocks to watch Aeris battle Brock. The battle would certainly be interesting to watch, as would Fary when she took him on. "We've only just met Brock, he can't be as bad as you make him out to be. His introduction was... well, it was a bit cheesy, I'll admit, and the attempt to hit on Aeris, Fary and myself all at the same time was not the right way to talk to people, as I said to him."

"But I don't believe in judging people before you get to know them," she continued, returning Kirsten's ball to her belt and offering Natalya her forearm to stand on instead of her shoulder. "Maybe Natalya - that's my Murkrow's name - thinks otherwise. She seems very protective of me." At the mention of her name, Natalya looked up from her preening and looked at Terinth for a few seconds before going back to picking at her feathers.

'He's a confident guy, that's for sure. Is that his default personality or is it a Gym Leader thing?' Simon wondered as he leaned against the back wall. After grabbing a sandwich from a sidewalk vendor he'd decided to follow the prominent posters to the Pokémon Gym. With brought him to this rather Though he'd missed the beginning of Brock's speech Simon had managed to catch the bit about the battle requirements and the prizes.

'A cash prize would be nice. However...' Simon glanced down at his Pokémon. Shadow was currently, and rather enthusiastically, devouring the last quarter of Simon's sandwich. It didn't feel right to battle now. "We aren't ready yet." Simon said with a note of regret in his voice. He looked at the gathered group of trainers. He could stay and watch the fights. Or he could leave and perhaps have a better chance at winning later on. Simon gave a quiet sigh. He turned away from the field. "Come'on bud, let's go find some more Caterpie." he instructed.

"Cheeff" Shadow tried to respond around his mouthful of sandwich. The Poochyena scrambled to follow his trainer, dropping crumbs here and there as he moved.

"My name is Aeris, not Red." she said as she picked up Blaze's and Tristan's Pokeballs off of her belt. "And yes, I'm ready. I only have two Pokemon anyway, so it's not a touch choice for me."

"Cool, Red. Let's battle!" Brock threw his Pokeballs into the air and the two Pokemon he had chosen appeared in a flash of white light. A Geodude and an Onix. Aeris looked at the size of Onix. "What the...that is one big Pokemon!" she said in awe, and in fear that she wouldn't be able to take it down. However, she was confident that she would be able to defeat Brock. Before doing anything, she put both her Pokeballs in one hand, pulled out her Pokedex to get data on Geodude and Onix, then put it back in her pocket once she was done and put one of her Pokeballs in the hand that had held her Pokedex. "Go, Blaze and Tristan!" She threw her Pokeballs into the air and Blaze and Tristan appeared. When Brock saw her Pokemon, he laughed at them mockingly. "A Fire Pokemon and a Bug Pokemon? Seriously? Oh man, you're in for a defeat." he said smirking. "Hmpf. We'll see about that. Tristan, you're up against Geodude. Blaze, you take on Onix." Both of them nodded and stood against their opponents.

"I'll let you start, but just because you're pretty." Brock said and made a winking motion, you wouldn't have known he had winked otherwise. Aeris groaned. "Well, whatever to make me start. Tristan, use Confusion on Geodude! Blaze, use your Metal Claw!" When Brock heard the second attack, he stopped his mocking stance. "So, you have a Pokemon with a Metal move? Interesting. This will be more of a challenge than I thought." Tristan's Confusion hit Geodude and had him spinning for a bit, hitting Onix who didn't react to his partner's hit. Geodude shook it off and tried to tackle Tristan, and succeeded, making Tristan fly across the Gym. "Tristan!" Aeris called. Tristan managed to gain his flight before hitting the wall on the other side and flew back to the battlefield. He was bruised, but alright otherwise. He was still flying, which was good.

Blaze rushed towards Onix, who used his tail to try and crush the little Charmander. Blaze jumped out of the way and with her Metal Claw she scratched Onix, leaving deep marks in him. Onix cried out and kept trying to hit her with his tail. "That's the way to go, Blaze!" Blaze smirked as she jumped onto Onix, scratching him with her Metal Claw, making him cry out in pain. "Onix, use Bind!" Onix wrapped itself around Blaze, who didn't have time to jump off him, and he started to squeeze her. "Blaze! Hang on!" Aeris called to her. Blaze was in pain as she was being crushed between the rocks, but she still had her Metal Claw attack on, so she scratched Onix, who kept trying to crush her while holding out the pain.

Tristan and Geodude were switching between attacking each other with Tristan using Confusion and Geodude using Tackle. Tristan was seen flying a few times while Geodude kept spinning around the Gym, hitting the walls and almost hitting the two Trainers. Tristan was tired, but kept fighting. Geodude was still spinning around when Tristan did one more Confusion, making Geodude spin towards Blaze and Onix, who were still in the process of fighting each other with Metal Claw and Bind. Geodude hid Onix's head, causing it to let go of Blaze. She used the opportunity to run up Onix's tail, scratched Geodude with her Metal Claw, causing him to fall to the ground, defeated, and ran up to Onix's head and scratched him with her Metal Claw as well a few times. Onix cried out as he fell to the ground beside Geodude. Blaze jumped off him and walked back to Aeris, where Tristan was waiting on the ground, too tired to flap his wings. Aeris cheered as she hugged both her Pokemon. "We did it!" she said cheerfully. Right then, Blaze was surrounded by white light. "Blaze...?" Aeris said, not worryingly, but in amazement. Blaze's shape changed. She got bigger, grew one horn on the middle of her head, got a longer tail, and once the light faded away, she had gained red skin. "You evolved!" Aeris said gleefully. She took out her Pokedex and aimed it at Blaze.

"Wow. A Charmeleon. This is great, Blaze!" Aeris hugged Blaze tightly, who hugged her back. "Char! Charmeleon!" Blaze said in a slightly deeper voice now.

Brock looked down and shook his head. "Can't believe you beat me like that, Red." He walked over to the victorious challenger. "Well, here are your prizes for beating me." He held out his hand containing a small pin, a CD and a wad of cash. "This is the Boulderbadge," he pointed to the pin. "It shows that you've beaten me. This is your prize money, there is about $140 there. and this," he pointed at the CD, "is the Technical Machine for Rock Tomb. You can use it to teach one of your Pokemon how to use the move, or all of them. Up to you." He handed everything over to Aeris.

"All right then," he looked over in Fary's direction. "I believe you're next, you beautiful, beautiful woman you. Don't think I won't go easy on you though."

Fary smirked at Brock. "Well if you do well I might give you a date." Fary said sending out her Zorua and Nidoran. "Go Honry and Rogue." Fary said as two flashes of white light reviled two Pokemon.

Brock seemed intrigued by Fary's offer. "Oh well then I have even more of a reason to beat you then." Brock said sending out yet another Geodude and Onix. "Hit me with your best shot beautiful." Brock said then gesturing to Fary to go first. "You go beautiful." he said.

"You should know my name is Fary handsome." Fary said having her Nidoran use double kick on the Geodude. "Horny use double kick on Geodude." Fary said pointing at said Pokemon. The attack took half of Geodude's health. "Ok next Rogue use Pursuit on Geodude." Fary ordered the attack taking a small part of damage.

"Very nice beautiful but you can't beat my rock hard will." Brock said. "Geodude use tackle on the Zorua." Brock says as the attack takes a fourth of Zorua's health. "Now Onix use Rock Throw on the Zorua as well." he says as Rogue is pushed down to half her health.

"Well say goodnight to your Geodude. Horny use double kick on Geodude again." Fary said knocking out the Geodude. "Zorua use scratch on his Onix." Fary said watching her Pokemon attack the giant but it did little damage.

Brock smirked using tackle on Rogue knocking her out. "Nice try but it looks like I might get that date after all." Brock said sounding cocky.

"Well I won't say if I'm impressed yet." Fary said. "Horny use Focus Energy." she added as her Nidoran started grunting, taking a defensive stance.

"Well you've impressed me, with your looks I should say." Brock flirted having his last Pokemon use Tackle. Horny took a fourth of his health from that attack.

"Brock I must say I would enjoy to see something else rock hard if you know what I mean. Now Horny use Double Kick on his Onix." Fary yelled it criting the Onix and leaving little health.

"Damn well if that's the case then maybe we can make some arrangements." Brock said knowing he was going to lose. "Onix use tackle." he said.

Fary smirked knowing it was over. "Horny use one more Double Kick." she said knowing she would win with that attack. She watched the Onix fall and crossed her arms. "Looks like I win." Fary said sending her Pokemon back to their balls. "Looks like you might be getting a date after all." Fary flirted.
