"Okay so I did hit my head which caused these minor injuries, but let's word it a little differently. Let's say, I acquired Pokemon via headbutt...which I did myself. See that certainly sounds better. Make that the official version of this story Alan," Eileen told him as she knelt down to get a closer look at Aeris' Venonat.

"It looks pretty tough. I think I saw of few today while in the woods, but I can't recall at this time. I caught Ari here after the whole headbutt tree incident, seemingly this little tough guy protected me from whatever I had been running away from," she stated, looking down at the Exeggcute as it rolled and hopped it's way over to everyone (doing it's best to show off). "So anyways will we be heading back now? Wouldn't mind watching some gym battles if that's possible."

"I need to go back anyway to heal my Pokemon, so I will be heading back. I was just waiting for you. Not too sure about the gym battle, but we'll see." Aeris was mainly waiting for a sign that the others were heading back, while her Pokemon were still either lying on the ground, playing around in the trees or standing beside her.

The fact that Eileen managed to run up to them while they were talking was a good sign in Jordan's eyes. It meant they wouldn't have to look for her and now they could head back. Aeris brought up a good point about getting healed before tackling the Gym. "Yeah, I'm up for, like, heading back to the place too." Jordan brought out his Pokeballs and returned his team. "So yeah, we can like, get going and stuff."

The four of them headed back across the bridge, now clear of the defeated trainers who had hurried to heal their own Pokemon. It was a quick jaunt back to the Center, and it offered up more reuniting, as Rochelle, Simon and Blondie seemed to be having a discussion outside. "Hey bros!" Jordan offered up as the two groups came together. "Hey, so like, we're going to go heal up our Pokemon and stuff and then we're heading over to the gym. You guys up for like going after her? Probably can like win and stuff. Probably even lamer than Rock Dude, you know? New Girl beat her easy. Can probably do it. Anyway, yeah I'll be back." Out of words to spout, Jordan headed into the center, to get as prepared as he was going to get.

"When the lie becomes the truth print the lie. Got it Eileen." Alan said with a laugh.

"Just know it won't be too fantastical. Have to make it at least somewhat believable." With that he followed the others back over the bridge, his eye twitching slightly at Jordan's butchering of the language. Which of course he would have to transcribe. Once they got back and Jordan said something stupid Alan leaned over to Eileen and joked quietly.

"This guy really doesn't know you does he? Hopefully you'll get the chance to show him what you and Hughes are made of. Then I can print it and make sure it follows him for quite some time. Might just have to even get it to print sooner."

Eileen rolled her eyes at Alan's comment, following the group as they made their way back to Cerulean. She made sure that she had enough room left in her notebook in case there were going to be numerous battles that day, placing a bookmark on the first fresh page for ease later.

A frown formed when she heard Jordan's comment, but she took a deep breath and brushed it off until Alan commented on it. "We've barely known each other longer than a day, I'm willing to go easy on him for the comment. He doesn't know any better, and he's only seen one battle of mine even though that one went really well all things considered. And perhaps he didn't mean it that way, maybe he just meant that I was that good and that Misty sucked that bad," Eileen replied as she said hello to the other trainers that they had ran into, a smirk on her face as she added, "Though I think we both know that isn't the case. I'm sure he'll realize it soon enough, but it certainly won't be through a battle. Rather would keep to what I said earlier about not battling the people in the group."

"Damn, and here I was hoping for the story of my lifetime. I am going to hate having to transcribe everything he says, not to mention translate it out of slang so that everyone can understand it. Oh well, maybe some other day then." Alan said as he himself smirked back at her.

"This is one of those times I hate your sense of honor. The one time I wish you would let your competitive side take over and you reign it in. You going soft on me? Next thing ya know you'll be telling me you want to become a coordinator and only carry the cutest of pokemon." He said jokingly.

"Sorry pal, but I'm sticking to what I said about battling people in the group. I don't want any bad blood if we're going to join them, and I do not know how the loser would react. Especially if I somehow manage to lose. Though I will never be a coordinator, that is a stupid as hell profession. You'd sooner find me trying to take over the world with my current and future Pokemon; making everyone kneel before me and all that jazz," Eileen replied, adding, "You know with all the battles I'd imagine you'd get it done by midnight at least, but the translating too? That's gonna take you twice as long."

With that she headed into the Poke Center to heal her Pokemon, returning the two of them into their pokeballs before handing them over to Nurse Joy.

It was kinda odd, how almost everyone had made their way to the same place. Granted, it seemed that the rest of the group had all been together, plus Eileen and a new person Rochelle didn't know, presumably the friend Eileen had mentioned. She and Jordan had both gone into the Pokémon Center, presumably to check up on their Pokémon. Someone had mentioned a person named Misty... was she the Gym Leader here? It was entirely possible, since there probably wasn't anyone else around worth mentioning.

Rochelle would have to introduce herself to the newcomer... as long as Natalya wasn't going to flip out. The little bird was perched on her Trainer's shoulder once more, staring intently at the one person neither she nor Rochelle recognised. It seemed that anyone she didn't know was a potential threat.

"Natalya, you're paranoid. We're perfectly safe with the rest of the group, no-one's going to attack," she said quietly to the Murkrow before turning her eyes to the stranger. "Sorry about the staring. Natalya's a bit... overprotective, I think the word is. Anyways, hi. I'm Rochelle," she added, extending a hand to the guy in greeting.

Alan shook the shook her hand with a smile.

"Alan. Nice to meet you. I'm a reporter and Eileen's personal shadow." He said with a laugh at his joke. What made it funny to him was just how true it was. It was rare that he wouldn't be somewhere nearby when she wasn't in her private room.

Croc was the only one out of his pokeball at the moment and looked up at the newcomer. As soon as Alan shook her hand he immediately jumped up and began to run around the two of them.

"And that's Croc. He's a bit energetic, a good pokemon though."

Simon remained silent as the new trainer introduced himself. 'The second new trainer. he corrected himself. 'New Girl' as Jordan had dubbed her or 'Eileen' had come and gone. She had also apparently beaten the Gym leader. 'Misty.' Maybe Simon could ask Eileen some questions about the battle. Before Jordan's group had arrived there had been a debate about going to the Gym. It was still an option. Just how strong was the leader? What Pokémon did both trainers use? Simon wanted to know.

Having lost his temporary playmate Shadow stood up and walked over to his own trainer. He peered curiously at the Totodile who was running around. It almost looked like a game of tag. "Miiigh?" Could he play too?

Shadow's focus on the Totodile caused Simon to become more aware of it. 'Huh.' Pulling his Pokedex from his pocket Simon aimed it, as best he could, at the blue blur. After a few misreads the device beeped and displayed a small amount of information.

Jordan sat tapping away as he waited for his Pokemon to be healed. New Girl came in as well looking for the same treatment. He gave a little wave before his three Pokeballs were returned to him. "I'll see you out there eh, New Girl?" New Girl had a bit of a weird look on her face before taking her returned Pokeballs and heading out. I should probably find something else to call her other than New Girl...but what? Jordan's slow running train of thought was derailed by a soft smack upside the head. "Hey!"

"Who was that?" asked the voice from behind him. He turned around and saw Fary standing there, not looking too pleased.

"Oh, uh, yeah, that's New Girl, I guess," Jordan answered. "We met her and New Guy outside and they've been like hanging out with us and stuff. She's like super serious and stuff I think. She kicked the Gym Leaders ass last night though." He paused for a second. "Oh yeah, we're like going to the Gym and stuff now. Did you want to come with?"

Fary's mood went up somewhat hearing Jordan's description of the girl. "Yeah, I'll go with. I'm going to have to get that gym badge sooner or later."

"All right then, let's get on it," Jordan declared heading out the door. Fary followed shortly after.

Everyone else was still standing around outside as the two rejoined them. "All right so, we gonna like head out now then?" Jordan asked.

At the sight of the little blue Pokémon running around Rochelle and Alan, Natalya flipped out. It was hyperactive, and those jaws looked like they could easily punch through clothing and human skin. She jumped from her Trainer's shoulder and made straight for the creature with a somewhat loud caw, landing in front of Croc to stop him getting closer to Rochelle. Once on the ground and stable, she gave another couple of quick chirps with narrowed eyes, feathers ruffled to present a somewhat aggressive first impression. Rochelle couldn't be more correct in saying that Natalya was overprotective.

"Hey, missie, get back here," Rochelle commanded. "He's not gonna hurt anyone." Natalya didn't move, perceiving the Totodile as a greater threat than Rochelle did. "Natalya, come back now, please," she insisted, a stronger tone of command in her voice. On her second order, the Murkrow complied, returning to Rochelle's shoulder and picking at a feather as if nothing was wrong, turning her attention back to Shadow moments later with a cheerful glance at him.

Rochelle took the opportunity to scan Croc with her Pokédex while he was staying still for the few seconds that he took to realise that he could start running again. As she did so, she commented to Alan, "See what I mean? Overprotective of me, and she doesn't like being confined to a Poké Ball to boot. Still, maybe she'll get used to it eventually."

Code:
Totodile. Big Jaw Pokémon.

Description: Its well-developed jaws are powerful and capable of crushing anything. Even its trainer must be careful.
With the introductions over, Rochelle turned her attention to the rest of the group. Jordan and Eileen had returned, bringing Fary with them. Judging by the facial expression of the latter, it seemed that the two of them were still at odds with one another. Tyler was hanging around near the edge of the group, apparently choosing not to take part in the conversation. While the others were distracted by Jordan's comment, Rochelle slipped away from Alan and placed herself between Simon and Tyler, giving the latter a friendly smile and a short wave as she approached. She briefly wondered if he was okay after the whole Team Rocket debacle.

Eileen made note of the girl Jordan was talking to, concluding that she was another member of the group after a few seconds of thought. 'Think I've seen all those in the group at this point now, unless there are still more that I've missed. Hopefully introductions can be made later,' Eileen thought to herself, exiting the Poke Center and seeing the other trainers before her, 'Quite a large group traveling together; usually you only see groups of four at the most.'

At the sight of the other Trainer's Pokemon Eileen brought out her own two Pokemon. Hughes immediately stretched once outside the poke ball before keeping close to his Trainer in case any of the other Pokemon around tried anything. Ari meanwhile was hopping around the area catching the sights, getting his first real close look at the city. "You think this is impressive Ari? Wait until we get to the city's gym," Eileen told her Pokemon, the Exeggcute rolling towards her excitedly, "Heh, Ari here is ready to see the gym so I say we start heading over there."

Tyler responded to Rochelle's wave with one of his own. He had nothing to say, so he stood with Blitz by his side as the others talked. On the thought of his Pikachu, he reached down and gave him a friendly pat on the head. They had spent a good part of the training on wild Pokemon up on Route 25. Many an unfortunate Spearow were knocked out cold by Blitz's Thundershocks. Afterwards, Tyler had returned to the Pokemon Center to let Blitz rest before meeting up with the others and going to the Gym. From the looks of things, they were about ready to go. He still wasn't sure if he were ready to take on Misty, but he'd find out after watching the others challenge her.

"It's fine Rochelle. Some pokemon are just like that, not a good thing or a bad thing." Alan said before she left.

Guess she saw someone she needed to talk to. He thought as she slipped by.

Totodile "Sure." Was the simple response from the pokemon before it quickly ran over to the pokemon, tapped it on the shoulder and ran off as fast as it could.

"All right, I guess we should probably get going then bros," Jordan proclaimed, unusual confidence in his voice. After seeing the dismantling New Girl put on the Redhead last night, he was sure that his Pokebros would be able to earn him some more much needed cash. "To the place!"

[hr]

Misty turned over on her bed. It was a wild and unsuccessful night on her trip down to Vermillion. She had hit up Bubbles' Mansion, in hopes of finding someone to head home with, and the fact that it was ladies night and there were half-price shots made it even more enticing. However, most of the guys there were just dragged along by their girlfriends, and the ones who weren't were creepy and had the social skills of a Caterpie. It added up to another lonely walk through the Underground Path, with only her Starmie for company and protection. Plus, all those double vodka and cranberries were hitting her hard now. Combined, was not a good scene.

Owwwwwwwww, not doing that again....oh who am I kidding. Misty turned over again, trying to block the sun from reaching her eyes, the pillow proving the most effective. But the ringing bell indicating that she had company pierced through the deluded silence.

"Oh come on! Can't they give me a break for one day?" Misty complained to no one in particular. The bell paid it no mind, continuing it's call. "Damn it." She slowly rose out of bed, looking for a swimsuit or something to throw on, quickly as possible to she could get through this challenger and get back to sleep.

[hr]

Jordan pushed the doors open, allowing entrance to the group of trainers at the front. "All right, like let's do this bros," he said, leading the way inside.

Rochelle hung back from the group that first entered the Gym, being in no real hurry to see who the Leader was or what types of Pokémon they had. Perhaps this Misty that had been mentioned was the Cerulean Gym Leader. Rochelle didn't have as much interest in the matter, at present, as the others did. Tyler was a more pressing concern: she wanted to talk to him. About what had happened under Mt. Moon, to see if he was alright and assure him that she was okay... apart from that nightmare she'd had, waking her up in the middle of the night.

Once a few others had followed Jordan into the Gym, Rochelle spoke up. "Um, Tyler? Have you got a minute?" she asked quietly. Almost instantly she regretted her choice of words; to her, it sounded like she wanted to talk in private, away from the ears of the others. If truth be told, she did to an extent; there were some things that the others didn't need to get fussed over. She was more or less fine, and she didn't want to make the rest of the group feel like they needed to help her out in some way. Tyler was the only one with whom Rochelle felt the need to discuss the matter, since he had broken her out of her makeshift prison.

She suddenly realised she was dwelling on the matter more than she needed to. The discussion with Tyler would be quick - Rochelle would simply tell him she was okay, and that she owed him for rescuing her - and then both of them could get back to the group. There were Pokémon battles to watch, and strategies to study.

Aeris had managed to get her Pokemon healed in the Poke Center quickly after Eileen and Jordan had done the same earlier. She wasn't too fond of entering the gym, but she had to if she wanted to advance down the path of a Pokemon trainer. Mika was there with her, having done some training of his own with his Pokemon and gotten his Pokemon healed too. They held hands as they entered the gym with the others.

Almost immediately, Aeris hid behind Mika while they walked inside. The swimming pool was visible once they had walked further inside and Aeris didn't want to look at it for too long. Mika turned around and held his arms around her. Even though he was a bit shorter than she was, she still hid behind him. She had all her Pokemon in their respective Pokeballs. She was planning on using Tristan and Ekans, or Sonya, during the fight. Hopefully, she'd be able to keep her spirit up long enough to win the battle and get out of there afterwards.

Tyler stayed at the tail end of the group as they entered the Cerulean Gym. He was looking forward to seeing how Misty conducted her battles. Although he still wasn't sure if his Pokemon were up to the challenge, it would be an informative experience in any case. Type advantage was only one aspect of Pokemon battling. Experience mattered just as much, if not more.

"Um, Tyler? Have you got a minute?"

"Yeah, sure," Tyler replied to Rochelle. "What did you need?" he added. He wondered if she was okay, after all that happened in Mt. Moon. Team Rocket definitely didn't treat her very well, if her being locked in that storage closet was any indication.

Rochelle took a couple of seconds to keep herself under control before answering Tyler. She didn't want to go through another breakdown after having done so at the police station, especially not in front of a friend. "I just, ah, wanted to check that you're okay after... after yesterday," she began, haltingly at first. She found, however, that talking helped to calm her nerves, and capitalised on that without hesitation.

"I think I'll be fine, after taking some time to get over most of what happened back there. Um... I remember what I said back in the mountain: that I owe you for getting me out of that closet. If you need something - pretty much anything - " Rochelle wasn't about to say 'anything' unconditionally; she did still have her own morals to consider " - then I'll help out. Just letting you know." Suddenly nervous again, she began quietly scratching a finger with her thumbnail awkwardly, not entirely sure how Tyler would react to her words. Such scratching was one of the few subtle things she did when she was nervous or worried.

Rochelle silently hoped Tyler wouldn't take what she had said as an invitation to request something bizarre, weird or just plain uncomfortable. Such things wouldn't go particularly well, for obvious reasons. And then it would just get even more awkward between two people who could quite easily be good friends, she hypothesised. Stupid Team Rocket and their kidnapping attempts. If they hadn't done what they did, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
