Deadly Premonition. Despite the story being really good, AS A GAME the controls and gameplay are horendous. I only played a little of it myself; the box smashing is tedious, the numerous monster model recycling was tiresome and the pacing was torture. But I had a blast watching playthroughs of this. All-in-all it would've been a much better movie than a game (based on how this game turned out).
And from what I heard, the driving segments had bad controls too. I don't know about that, but I'm still sticking with watching playthroughs.
What does this have to do with "The Room"? Well, believe it or not, I would have been a better book. The movie actually was a book, when that didn't work out, it then became a play, then it turned into a $6mil. pieceo'sh!t. But, one of the reasons was because of the horrible acting, script direction, and atmosphere. And don't get me wrong, the story wasn't that good either(it still would've been somewhat better).
I'm so glad you brought this topic up. The media ratio of "The Room" had just reminded me of "Deadly Premontion". While I would perfer DP any day of the week (more points to it's favor)I think SWEARY and Wiseau should be in different lines of work.
EDIT: scratch that. "The Room" as a novel will still be laughably bad.
