I am still crying a little bit while typing this, watching these four videos (there are more) after each other made me cry a river.
my question to you escapist, do you have something equally sad and/or beautiful?

I've seen pictures of open mass graves from the Holocaust and from ethnic cleansing in the Balkans. It's sad as much as horrific because it is such a huge waste of human life.

I don't know why this one got to me as he wasn't that big a part of my life (unlike some others who grew up with him as the biggest part of their childhood).

Probably old... more sad than beautiful.
the duck one is incredibly sad, as well as confusing.... lots of little lives just lost because of a tiny misunderstanding... i hate seeing ANYTHING die for real. Once my cat brought in a little baby bird, it couldn't fly, so it wasn't going to survive, i had it in my hands for about half an hour, trying to find a nice place for it to die, where my cat (who was following me) couldn't rip it to peices. it threw up a couple of times, but i eventually found a quiet place where my cat couldn't get it. I looked down, it threw up, spread its wings and died in my hands. it was only a bird, but it made me value every life even more. now i hate to see ants killed. :/

I agree completely, except for those asshole mosquitoes. Those can go right ahead and die.

"Grave of the Fireflies."

Excellent movie but soul-destroying in its sheer levels of sadness.

Most recently, in the movie 'Adam' when his girlfriend tells him to buzz off and he is just standing on the street so disgustingly helpless.

I once saw on television a boy being questioned by a man. He was being questioned because he was a witness to his own mother being shot.

Recently, in a nearby city, a father and son were spending a week together on vacation, and were sitting in their car, about to go somewhere. Some random guy walked up and shot them both, then walked off. No explanation for the murder, just a father and son shot in their car.

well sad thread is okay too,
I still have some pics though,
That cat story made me die a little inside. The cruelty of humans is sickening. I can't even kill a bug without feeling guilty.

I'm not crying... that's just dust in my eye. ;-;

If this thread becomes bigger it'll be like the "scary thread" for me. I'll hate coming to it, but won't stop because my curiosity will get the best of me.
