I was just thinking about how hilarious it would be if it were something jumpy.

EDIT 2: Almost forgot.

I've never been there myself, but my friends have told me stories about a tunnel near where I live. When I ask them for details, they refuse to talk about it, but from what I hear you can go down the tunnel with a flashlight and fresh batteries and when you get down into the darkness a ways you'll start to hear voices. Suddenly, your batteries will die, all your electronics will stop working and you'll be left in total darkness. That's as far as they ever got...
How about a glowstick?

everymanHYBRID is a pretty good Slender Man channel. Granted, it copies some things from Marble Hornets, the absence of the former's videos has left me watching eH.

Ok i think during the third one i saw someone looking throught the basement window for a few seconds but apart from that what was the point?
or have i just missed the whole thing? I'm not sure what to look at here.

Ha. I don't believe in ghosts, I don't believe in spirits, I don't believe in anything that doesn't make any logical sense (by that I mean... stuff that is unexplained so far) - but this stuff terrifies the living dayshits out of me. I'm still the most jumpy, easily scared guy ever. But I love it. I've been reading this thread and related links for four hours now (it's half four in the morning) and I'm terrified, but I can't get enough. I just started watching the Marble Hornets videos, I'm on Entry #2 and I almost got too scared to continue watching. Man, I'm such a pussy.

But I can't stop.
Keep it up, guys.

Seriously! I can't go outside my room anymore!

I'll post stuff I find on the interent.

There is a tunnel under the old railroad tracks just to the west of the Queen Elizabeth Way in Niagara Falls. It is known locally as the Screaming Tunnel. A path wanders through the tunnel and then up to an empty field on the hill. But the field was not always empty.

At one time, a large farm house stood in the field at the top of the hill, and in it lived a happy family. Then one night, the house caught fire. A young daughter was trapped in the house, and the only way to escape was through a wall of flames. The brave young girl covered her face with her arms and ran into the fiery doorway. Her long hair and her long nightgown began to smolder as she burst through the flames and rushed out of the house.

When the night air struck her smoldering clothing, it burst into flames, enveloping the girl in a raging inferno. The girl screamed in agony and ran blindly down the hill, away from the fire-stricken house. She staggered into the tunnel under the train tracks, her screams echoing and re-echoing through the night. Overcome by the flames, the girl fell to the floor of the tunnel, wailing in agony. She rolled frantically on the floor of the tunnel, trying to douse the flames, but her efforts were weak and ineffective. She was quickly overcome, and burned to death in the tunnel under the tracks.

After that night, anyone that dares strike a match in the tunnel under the tracks will hear the agonized death screams of the burning girl, and a ghostly wind will instantly blow out the match.

Got another one! Not too scary compared to others though, so might disappoint in the long run.

There was a strange woman sitting on the bench on the other side of the park but she seemed harmless. Just sitting there reading a book, minding her own business, so I didn?t think twice about it. My sister and I loved to play a game called ?don?t open?. What you do is one person closes their eyes and the other tries to trick you in to opening them. You usually try to scare them.

We sat under a tree. It was my turn to get my sister to open her eyes. I tried tickling her but it only made her laugh so I pretended to leave. I made the fake walking away sound with my feet and slowly lowering my voice to make it sound like I was farther away. She fell for it. Sarah opened her eyes and when she saw me she was relieved.

It was now her turn now. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Sarah laughed and I couldn?t help but laugh too. Suddenly her laughter stopped and so did the sounds all around me, as if everyone in the park had left. ?Sarah, are you there?? I wanted to open my eyes so bad but something in my head said don?t.

?Becca help, please help me.? Now I really wanted to open my eyes but Sarah usually used this scare strategy to win. So I just sat there as she yelled. My stomach started to turn and I didn?t think I could take any more. The screaming stopped and a whisper said ?don?t open your eyes?. I opened my eyes despite what I heard only to see every one gone but my sister hanging from a tree, dead.

I called 911 and sat there stunned. I looked across to the bench were the lady was sitting and saw her book. I walked over to it. There was a note in the book. I pulled it out. It said written in dark red ink ?don?t you wish you opened your eyes.?

Millie was a soft brown-haired beauty. Her hair was always straight and so soft, so dark it was almost black. It laid just slightly on her shoulders. She had the creamiest, softest skin. Her face was unblemished despite her teen age, and her hazel eyes were penetrating. She had large and lovely eyes, always reflecting that she was deep in thought.

Millie could almost always be seen with a horror book in her hand, when she wasn?t doing homework. This bothered her mother, who was a friendly, outgoing type, who enjoyed sunshine and flowers and other beautiful things in the world. She didn?t like to see her gorgeous daughter reading about gruesome killings, grisly scenes, and disturbed minds.

Millie?s mother decided on a whim one day to take one of Millie?s horror novels to a voodoo woman and get a curse put on it.
?Please make it so Millie never wants to read another horror novel again,? Millie?s mother instructed the woman. The woman took out a large black bowl and an incense cone and some dried leaves. She placed the cone in the bowl, lit it, and then placed the book on the cone. A large black cloud of smoke arose and the woman sprinkled the dried leaves on the book and the smoke, saying incantations that sounded ancient and frightening. Then she waved both hands, crisscrossing, over the bowl, and said, ?Horror, be gone!? The black smoke suddenly disappeared and the woman pulled the book out of the bowl. It was not burned.

Millie?s mother was amazed and hoped the spell really worked. She silently slipped Millie?s book back to where it had been at home, in Millie?s tote bag.
The next day, Saturday, Millie awoke from an afternoon nap and decided she wanted to read in the living room. The house was quiet; her mother was gone on errands. Her father always worked on Saturday. The day was already turning into evening, the light from the sun faint on the walls.

Millie started a tea kettle for hot chocolate and settled on her favorite spot on the couch. She started on her new horror novel that was in her tote bag. The setting of the novel was a teen girl reading alone in her house. Millie read some of the girl?s background story and then the novel was mentioning a strange scratching sound at the window.

Suddenly Millie herself was also hearing a scratching sound at the window. She looked up and saw nothing at the window and chuckled to herself. She continued reading, after fetching her cup of hot chocolate.

Next the girl character was hearing footsteps in the hall. She was getting really creeped out as she was supposed to be alone. Millie reflected on how she was alone also in the house. She looked up again. It was even darker in the room. She decided to turn on a lamp. As she was finished clicking the lamp?s knob, she thought she heard some thumps in the hall. She decided it was her mind playing tricks on her. She picked up her novel and the girl character decided to jump up and have some hot chocolate. She reached into the kitchen?s pantry closet and instead of a box of chocolate she was groping at her own mother?s corpse, blue in the face from having been strangled.

Millie slammed the books shut. She was starting to get the creeps. It was weird that she was hearing some of the same noises the girl heard and drinking the same drink and in the same predicament, alone at home in the evening. She decided to put the box of hot chocolate back in their kitchen pantry, to put her mind at ease, once she saw her own mother wasn?t in the closet, dead as well, she could go back to her book.

She opened the closet and couldn?t believe her eyes. It was her mother, looking still and blue, her neck with a bloody ring around it from being strangled. Millie screamed and ran out of the house.

Later after her father came home, the police and mortician came and went, and days passed by. Millie tried to bring her life back to normal as much as possible. But she found she could never, ever read a horror novel for the rest of her life.

I got one, this one isn't that scary, but it is true and it did happen to an eight year old me.

I was living in a house my family had, we don't live there any more. I was asleep in my living room, we had a large window close to the street. It was really close, I could probably open it and be able to touch a passing car. Well one night, there was a crash through the window, I woke up and saw a fairly large rock right next to my head. I was a few inches away from having my head crushed.

It turns out it was thrown by a bunch of college age hoods, I peaked out the window and they were fleeing, one of them spotted me and he drew what looked like a pistol. Pointing it at me.

It may not seem scary, but if you put yourself inside the head of an 8 year old boy. A FUCKING GUN WAS POINTED AT MY HEAD! That's when I learned that there are truly evil people out there in the world.

I don't have any other scary stuff to add, but jesus, MarbleHornets is crazy. SO much scarier than the Blair Witch Project or anything like that. Maybe it's the total lack of sleep talking but I've not been this fucking terrified since I was a kid and the old highschool friend of one of my friend's mums pretended he was kidnapping us when we walked down an alley after primary school once.

Scare update!

As a child, I was always quiet, and my conversations with others would always end up awkward. Because of that, I always preferred to be alone growing up. Which probably explains my strange obsession with toys, being as old as I am. They never talk. They just stare. I have to say though, being alone in an apartment full of figurines can be creepy sometimes.

However, being with my girl for almost two years, she understands my obsession well, but with this much, she would probably be shocked when she first sees them.

That night, she was more than excited to see my house. as we approached the door, she could barely contain her excitement, so without further delay, I swing the front door open. ?Make yourself at home.? I say to her, ?it?s kind of messy, but its more comfortable than it l-? her face was in shock, then absolute terror as she started to scream.

I tried to calm her, but it just got worse. I was puzzled. is she afraid of my toys? ?I understand its a bit strange, but is it that horrifying? I take a quick look in my house but theres nothing horrific. I had to calm her down, as the neighbors were starting to come out. With a quick impulse, I quickly drag her in my house as I try to ease her mind. Her screaming just got louder and louder. At this point, I had no choice but to put my hand over her mouth. She watched me in terror with tears rolling down her face. I turn around and they were all staring at me as well.

?

I?m alone again. I placed her doll on the top shelf above all the others I have dated. Her look made me feel depressed, so I made it face the wall until I was able to get over it.

You get a phone call from your Mother. Since her car has been in the shop, she asks you to go to the grocery store and pick up a few odds and ends for her. Bread, milk, cereal, and chicken breasts.

After writing down a small list you reluctantly get in the car and pick up the items at the store. The lady cashier makes an odd remark to you, ?You know, we?re in no danger of a milk shortage.? Upon arriving at her house you knock several times. No answer. You decide to try the door. It opens. You place the grocery bag on the counter. Strange. There seems to be six other grocery bags, each with identical contents. In a couple, the chicken and the milk has gone bad. ?Mom,? you call out, but no answer. You make your way thru the kitchen and into the living room. Sitting on the couch, with her head cut off and neatly resting on her lap, is your Mother.

Naturally you call the police who come over to investigate. They mention that she has been dead for nearly a week. Furthermore, the police psychiatrist is at the scene and talks to you after you give your initial statement. Sitting on the front steps, you overhear the psychiatrist talking with the crime scene investigator. ?It?s not uncommon for people suffering from schizophrenia to get locked into a series of repetitive behaviors,? he says.

You think to yourself, ?They can?t be talking about me. Schizophrenia? Nah. Repetitive behavior? Do they think I did this?? Suddenly your cell phone goes off. ?Hello??

?Hi hun, it?s me. Could you stop at the store and pick up some chicken and milk. Ohh, and I need some bread and cereal too.?

?No problem Mom. I?ll be right over??

OK, I just woke up, and I don't know why I keep reading through this thread, last night, I couldn't sleep, I finally fell asleep at 2 AM, and luckily I didn't have any nightmares.

A few years ago, a mother and father decided they needed a break, so they wanted to head out for a night on the town. They called their most trusted babysitter. When the babysitter arrived, the two children were already fast asleep in bed. So the babysitter just got to sit around and make sure everything was okay with the children. Later that night, the babysitter got bored and went to watch TV, but she couldn't watch it downstairs because they did not have cable downstairs (the parents didn't want children watching too much garbage). So, she called them and asked them if she could watch cable in the parent's room. Of course, the parents said it was OK, but the babysitter had one final request? she asked if she could cover up the angel statue outside the bedroom window with a blanket or cloth, at the very least close the blinds, because it made her nervous. The phone line was silent for a moment, and the father who was talking to the babysitter at the time said, "..Take the children and get out of the house?we will call the police. We do not have an angel statue."

The police found all three of the house occupants dead within three minutes of the call. No statue was found.

The Awesome Creepypasta section is awesome. But I wish I had never went there.
Eck, that did more than just creep me out. That tightened my spine for like 3 seconds.

This is among the scarier things I've encountered on the net. Whether it is true, as stated, or not, it still scared the living hell out of me.

EDIT: Okay, the link is apparently not working, so here are the instructions.

Go to this link: http://paranormal.about.com/od/ghostaudiovideo/a/aa101507.htm

Scroll down and find the blue underlined "Download and listen to the EVP"

It should take you to a page where the audio will play. Listen and enjoy.
