Number 1: Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2)
This game has taken every summer vacation I've ever had since I bought it. I currently have over 150 hours in total of gameplay time, not including cutscenes. There's no real reason why I think this game is amazing other than IT. IS. FUN. Fun gameplay, fun(nny) script, and a fun, deep story.

Number Dos: Super Mario Bros. 3. (NES)
I grew up with this...I can't call it a "game" because for me it was an "experience". Me and my sister would stay up all night mapping out where secret items were and marking the matches for each card matching minigame. Some of the best nights ever.

Number Drei: Jak 3 (seeing a pattern?) (PS2)
Again, pure nostalgia reasons. An epic conclusion to an epic trilogy. Pure fun. 'Nuff said.

Number Four: Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
As any Escapist will tell you, THIS. IS. SPARTAART. A boy and his horse on a reluctant and sacrificial journey to fight monsters who honestly want to be left alone. I will not spoil the story as it needs to be experienced.

Number V:God of War 2 (PS2)
A perfect example of how to bring old stories to a new medium. Before Kratos tore into our hearts, when someone mentioned Zeus you'd think of this:
Now, most people will think of this:
Sure, it's ultraviolent and full of unnecessary blood and nudity. But it's almost fitting of a Greek myth by telling of a superhuman man representing the peak of human potential yet being crippled by a character flaw (In Kratos's case, his inability to think things through when fueled by rage). One of the funnest games ever.

Counter Strike (Version 1.6 and older, PC)
Hitman: Blood Money (PC)
Lode Runner: The Legend Returns (Mac OS)
SSX Tricky (Gamecube)

I don't think it's possible to narrow it down to a definitive 5 for me, but, here's 5 games I really like. Have fun counting ^^
