FFIX's Opening cutscene. Maybe I had a bad disc or a bad PS1 but it took about 20 tries before I was finally able to control a character.

Wait, I remember it was the disc. The cutscenes on the first disc were screwy but discs 2 - 4 were dandy.

Fable 2 lasted about 15 minutes on my very first play through and because it was still in the starting area I hadn't saved yet. It was a bit ominous at the time, but that was the only bit of bad luck I experienced with the game. I even have a screenshot I took!

To progress you needed to have 5 gold pieces to buy the music box, 1 from each mission. On the last mission a character spawned incorrectly which led to me to compete two mutually exclusive quests at the same time. This gave me six gold instead of the required 5 and for some reason you couldn't have more.

This was on the day of release as well.

Resident Evil 4 for PC, there's a VERY common problem with DirextX that means it won't open on 90% of computers. It's possible to tweak DirectX settings to trick the game into opening, and once it does open it's fine, but yes took me a couple of days to play that. (Not worth it :( )

And since I thought the titel of the thread meant somethign totally different (What's the least time a game has spent bugging out on you?) I'd have to go for Sins of a Solar Empire from the modern generation (seeing as the closest thing to a crash my old N64 ever did was my mum hiting the reset button while dusting). The mechanics are so simple there's almost nothing to bug out, yet at the same time the gameplay itself is enourmously complex.

I was going to post a time with crashing in KotOR at 23 seconds randomly after killing a droid, but then I remembered that I can't even get past the splash page in Mass Effect. I've tried all I can (altered settings, switched to compatibility mode, you name it, and other than "getting a "GOOD" comp (just not in the budget, NO I don't even have $200), I've tried it), and it crashes as soon as it tries to load the game.

Dead Rising 2, crashed on install.

And once when I was buying a game the shop system crashed and I had to come back later.

Morrowind. As it's going through its initial start up, it crashes- the kind that snaps you, neatly and instantaneously, directly back to the desktop. It happens so quickly that I don't even notice the difference for a few seconds.

My copy of Battlefield 1942 (which I still used to play up to 2 months ago) doesn't load past the EA screen. Freezes on black screen and never gets past it i.e. can't even end program/process with task manager.

Sucks cos I love that game. Crude as it is, I still classify it my favorite battlefield game.

Prototype crashed as soon as I installed it and clicked 'New game'. However, most games I ave never crash, maybe I'm lucky.

On my NHL11, you have to save after every game, because if you play two in a row, it freezes.

What game that has crashed first i dont remember, but what games that has the most frequent crashes is without a doubt Fallout 3 and New Vegas..

Love the games and the exploring, but constant lag and crashes forces me to double save every 5 minutes.. Do more saving and reloading than exploring the wastelands.. its extremely annoying..

Also annyoing that you cannot get past level 30 to get all skills to max.. I for one cannot finish the mission in Vault 19 cause i do not have explosive skills above 60, to destroy the caves :(

As always i max out speech, medicine, lockpick, science and guns first, to be able to get in every door and make people do my will upon every speech.. So good couple of my skills are no higher than 20-40.

for me, i've not really had a game that bugged out until black ops(on PC) *bleargh* well they did patch it up so it was kinda playable-but frame rates are choppy as heck,r...and tends to freeze at times. hope treyach continues patching it...
