I was just curious about what the shortest games people have played. Was it underwhelming or was it actually a good length? Did you replay it, how long was it etc.?

My shortest are probably Mirrors Edge, Megaman X8, Killzone 2. They come to mind at the moment, but I'll think of more later. They all disappointed me and left me feeling like I wasted my time.

I beat Onimusha: Warlords (as in all of its content, extra or otherwise) in one day.

Yeah, the campaign sections of CoD are depressingly short these days :(

Otherwise, probably Halo 3. A friend brought it over the day after it came out, and we sat down and finished it in around four and a bit hours.

Dragon Age: Origns, I'll explain. Every review, even Yahtzee, bring up that DA:O is a fucking long game, 50 to 60 hours. Well, I've beaten it 3 times, every play-through coming in under 25 hrs. I know I'm not missing half the game, I checked. I've done everything there is to do in the main (non DLC) game besides the job board quests. I can't see those taking over 30 hrs to do.

What difficulty were you playing on? Did you pursue the romances? Lots more pointless whiny questions because I couldn't get through it that fast.

Seriously though, quite a few people have beaten it in under thirty hours, but you'd really have to steamroll through the dialogue and fighting to do so.
Besides, 25 hours is still pretty long for a single player campaign these days, considering the length of some of the stuff coming out :p

Soul is only 15-20 minutes long. There a few games that are only about 20 minutes to an hour also. For example, the first Sonic takes only about an hour to three to beat if you've played it before.

I played it on normal. I got every companion, and did every romance. I even found the unique item for each companion, Zeverns boots, Lilyana's Flower, that stuff.

Metal Gear Solid 3. Me and my friend would do speed runs for how fast we could beat it while skipping cutscenes and i think our fastest time was like 4-5 hours

Pac-Man.

Okay, cheap shot. Fine. We'll go with something more intuitive.

How about... Pac-Man? Damn ghosts cutting my experience short...

and they still have the balls to charge 60$ for it!
it also made me filled ripped of! the story might not be the best but it sure is interesting, they could have EASILY made more missions!

I took my family to the cinema to watch some 3D film. The film was around 100 minutes long and the whole experience set me back over £50. Compare that to most games, even those with short single player campaigns and the games are looking really good value - even the short ones.

However quality is independent of duration of play and is vital. I found Max Payne didn't take long - but the story was pleasing. It didn't get stale or samey. World of Goo was fantastic - but again it went by in a blur.

Some games are really long, but so dull that I wouldn't play it for more than 100 minutes. Is that good value?

Hmm, most likely World of Good or Super meat boy or something like that.

And never missing the opportunity to not mention DA and how much I love the game, my shortest play-through while completing roughly 90% of all content was around 23 hours with Nightmare difficulty.
