So, since this is the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons I thought it would be prudent to find out what everyone's favourite episode is.

You don't have to remember the title, if you can just describe which one it is. I'll go first then:

Treehouse of Horror V: the one where they spoof 'The Shining' with Homer wanting to kill his family cause there's no TV or beer. That one had me laughing hard.

I like that one where it shows the day three times from Homer,Lisa and Barts points of view.

Runner up would be The Springfield files.

Trash of the titans episode, where Homer becomes sanitation commissioner.

Love that episode for the way he shakes the bird cage, laughed so hard the first time I saw that

I can't pick just one.

Kind Sized Homer holds a special place in my heart. This would be the one where Homer makes himself morbidly obese so that he can work from home. I can't count the number of times that I too, wish I had my 'reaching broom'

You Only Move Twice.

Just because of Hank Scorpio and the theme song.

The one they show before it gets axed & taken out of production.
Not a fan, I take it? ;)
No.
It bugs the shit out of me when I hear people say "D'oh!" & how my brother is endlessly trying to imitate Homer or Bart.
He's become obsessed with the Treehouse of Horror episodes & keeps asking me if they are referencing things: I'm regarded as the horror buff in the family.
Gotta admit, I'm not a fan of that either. Though Simpsons is not that popular in Denmark any more, so I can walk around with anyone saying D'oh, which is great. Still think it's a great show, though.

I like the one where they join this cult thing and home keeps collecting lima beans that look like the guy they are worshipping even though he hasn't seen the guy and Marge trys to convert homer, Bart and Lisa back to Christianity.

The Springfield Files. It's full of the best lines in any Simpsons episodes ever. "The bus had to keep the SPEED over 50, and if the SPEED dropped, it would explode. I think it was called... 'The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down' etc.

'The City of New York vs. Homer Simpsons' from the 9th season (1997). This episode was to be broadcast in the UK on BBC 2 about a week after the World Trade Centre attacks on 9/11, and had to be pulled because a majority of the episode was set in the World Trade Centre Plaza. I only knew of it's existance when Season 9 came to DVD, and I just love it!

But I do enjoy the Sideshow Bob episodes (Kelsey Grammer is simply brilliant in all of them)

"since the beginning of time man has yearned to destroy the sun" stupid ep, awesome quote

"You're pretty rich, aren't you?"
"yes, but I'd trade it all for a little more."
Cabin fever. Best running dialogue between Mr Burns and Homer.

I don't watch any more. I forget which exact season, but I think they swapped out writers at some point, because it started being lame repetitions of old gags. I don't like the old ones much any more because they were replayed mercilessly until I can literally pick some episodes by the first 5ish seconds after the opening credits. If I had to pick one though I'd say the one with George Bush Senior moving in across the street after the street wide garage sale.

King-Size Homer. You know, the one were he gets extremely obese so he can work from home, ends up wearing a mu-mu. They offer him a bag of popcorn because he would be a fire hazard if he was in the theater. I haven't really watched it for the past 6 years, and I will agree it's completely awful at this point, but it had it's moments. I would say season 8 was where it crapped out. It was the start of season 8, with the episode in which Homer has to go to New York to get his impounded car that it died. It was the first time I watched a new Simpsons episode and thought "Wow, that wasn't really funny". And yet, compared to the new episodes, that one seems almost golden.
