I had a question about something like that:
how are new ponies made? (surely this cant be the "birds and the bees" thing)?
because it seems that while siblings, the matter of parenthood is left out...
maybe the princess created them all and thus been raised to a goddess status, or am I looking to much into this?

No, I've been wondering the same thing. It's a kid's show though, so it will probably never be brought up. I'm assuming it happens when two ponies meet and love each other...steeple said:
thing is, because its a children show, the "normal" thought is invalid, as it could never be brought into the show's world (officialy anyway, but lets leave the fanfic for now... prefferably forever in this case), so maybe they would choose to depict it as an a-sexual reproduction (probably only occurs in ponies, to explain how they have no romantic feelings for each other, and since spike is not a pony it sticks)...Wenseph said:

Twilight's parents was in one episode though, when they were all young fillys. Spike was hatched from an egg in the same episode. Still doesn't explain it I guess.steeple said:

I think there should be an episode where somepony falls in love with another.
you're right, I forgot about that episode... well, the "all mighty creator" theory is thrown out the window...Wenseph said:
and making an episode with that story arc will be a bit tricky to pull off, and since I dont feel like there's any need to insert any more romantic sub-plots (even the current one feels a bit too much and is inconsistent, since spike laughs at rarity one episode, and the next falls for her), I preffer to have normal episodes such as the ones so far...
