There was a few pokemon at one point in this thread (around page 13), but really they never stood a chance. The ponies are too numerous and far too powerful.

It's only a matter of time before someone overthrows her, whether that be Luna (she'll have to find some friends) or the mane cast (they'll have to realise what is going on), or even someone else who gains control of the elements of harmony. One god pony has already been defeated, why not the other one?
Then once you've removed the old powers, there's nothing stopping the new owners of the elements of harmony from ruling the world for good, with their insane and devastating friendship powers, and they'll be the only ones left with that kind of power.

I'd say the mistake Celestia made was not sending Twilight into heavy risks, it was allowing her to survive them. Twilight is one of the greatest threats to the Sun-Goddess' rule, as was proven by how she defeated Luna. She's already shown she can defeat one Goddess, and the only thing stopping her from defeating the other is the good-will she (currently) has towards her. By using Twilight against Luna (and making her much more powerful in the process), Celestia has probably engineered her own demise.steeple said:
