A heavily expanded Civil War questline, featuring full scale military battles and siege weapons. It would have to be free, or VERY cheap, but it would fill a huge hole in the game's atmosphere.
Well assuming you're on PC the Warzones - Civil Unrest mod does a pretty good job at making Skyrim actually feel like its at war by adding various skirmishes around the map. Vanilla Skyrim just feels so...peaceful. Seriously, apart from the random wolf and bandits its like a holiday in the Alps or something.

The mod isn't full size sieges or battles but it does help quite a bit to plug the gap.

This. This is what I want. Haven't even got to play Dawnguard yet.

Oh there's so much that could be done with Skyrim!

I'd say that maybe as a minor DLC, like Hearthfire, is new weapons and weapon types. Spears have been on the minds of many, and I'd like to see some new weapons to mix up a playthrough. New kinds of shields (e.g. tower shields) would be nice.

What I'd also LOVE to see is a spell/enchantment upgrade. The enchantments out now are pretty lackluster and base, and the "Spell Tomes" DLC for Oblivion I'd think wouldn't be unreasonable. A lot of Skyrim right now is fighting, granted that's a large part of the point, but fighting with poisons with new ingredients (bought in shops only possibly?) or new enchantments or abilities (such as allowing an extra EXTRA enchantment) at the end of a DLC questline of some kind would be neat.

Actually, now that I think about it, DLC that allows more exclusive character customization after you start your tale might be nice, like adding a specific perk at the end of a faction quest, or getting to choose to take a certain perk at the end of a questline.

I want a DLC that makes the NPCs less stupid.

So I'm a thane in whiterun now and the guards still thrashtalk me (+ that annoying NPC that is all like "oh you never ever go to the sky region do you).
A thief wants to attack me? Cool. Especially how he hopes to kill me with his dagger when I'm rolling around in flawless elven armor
I want the sneaking system to get an overhaul. Right now if you bend your knees you might as well be invisible.

A way to properly interact with items would be cool. If I knock over a vase in my home it takes forever to put it back properly.

But most of all I want a larger map. The scales just don't feel proper to me.. even the biggest cities in Skyrim don't have more than a handful of homes. The map just doesn't feel like an epic region, more like a 30*30km area or so.

Maybe also make the environment matter more to your character. Swimming in ice cold water in the Ghost Sea and then running around like nothing happened.. you would probably not last long IRL if you don't dry and heat yourself up again. Would be nice if food/sleep is mandatory to in some way, to make them less trivial.

So yeah. A DLC that improves any of these would be interesting.

I'm actually really excited for the newest DLC, if we get it. Mostly because all the houses while being, nice....kind of, have a horrible storage system.

I would love an expansion on the Civil War, I want to hold power and lead armies, not just be some shiny messenger for Titus.

A visit to another daedric realm.

Really. I want another Shivering Isles that's not Shivering Isles but still that but you know.

Like Moonshadow, Azura's plane.
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Azura
"Moonshadow is Azura's plane of Oblivion, where she lives in a rose palace. It is reportedly blindingly beautiful and colorful, with flowers, waterfalls, trees, and a city of silver.[5]"

They could really pump that place into a graphic designers wet dream with that game engine.

Edit: Also figured it would make a rather nice contrast with the gritty and unforgiving atmosphere of Skyrim, a sort of refuge for the player to dwell when the cold and bitterness became to much to bear.

Well Bethesda, you've got your work cut out for you. Now go do that.

All those people on Steam's workshop are pretty much working for free. Bethesda just could be looking at the trends and ideas and then turning to the console players and making em pay for it.

I want to go back to the Shivering Isles, would be fun to see what its become like over the last 2 centuries, failing that something like exploring a Dwemer ruin, a big one a major city which holds more information about the lost race, or even a ghost of one (they have done that before) or maybe some in a kind of magical stasis, they have already shown some snow elves and they were meant to be all gone.

Or indeed something to do with the Thalmor (maybe a invasion would be fun).

Thalmor. I want to kill them all.

Also, the blades questline for me is still unfinished; I hated the option 'kill the dragon that has helped humankind for centuries or even though you are the chosen one or we will ever speak to you again' giving me a questline that can rectify that issue was well as possibly helping to bring the blades back to their former glory? Tie that into a Thalmor invasion storyline maybe?

...THAT would be awesome IMO.

Different kinds of Dragons. Not the type of the same script, I mean 4 legged or even 6 legged dragons.

What I want is to have a DLC that adds companions with personal storylines. A bit like how the entirety of Dawnguard was focused on Serana. Please Bethesda, give me a reason to care about these people.

Serana is a badass vampire, I think the term princess is warranted here, with some major family issues. She is packing ice-magic and necromancy as well as Life Drain in her off hand. She is also the potential source of a apocalypse. I will stop now before I start spouting even more spoilers.

Give me more NPCs like that. I am begging you here.

After Hearthfire, i want the ability to create my own faction.

You choose the ideals the faction embodies, pick the skills the faction favours, go around recruiting people and training them, choose the standard equipment for your faction, choose whether to have quantity or quality in your members (lots of low level people or a few high level people), pick a place to have the headquarters, like building a house in Hearthfire. Hell it could even be your Hearthfire house, with other members of your new faction building homes nearby to form a small community.

You set your factions interaction with others. Make them hostile to the Thalmor and patrol to hunt bandits or make them bandits roving the land, make them hostile to one or both of the factions of the civil war or keep out of it completely, set if you accept people of all faiths or only those who worship whatever you favour (the eight, the nine, daedra).

I'd buy a DLC that explores your own ties with the dragon legacy and ancestry.

The Dov, being as long lived as they are, probably have an astounding lore all their own. You, the Dragonborn, are the only living person with any ties to them, yet they remain mysterious and enigmatic foes. Every time I plunge my finely honed and enchanted blade into a dragon's skull, I think "I may be killing my distant uncle or something with a sword made of his cousin's femur." There's no way you can know.

I'd enjoy a bit of soul-searching that relates to the flip-side of your family. Maybe muddle in some dragon politics and affairs for a change.

I would love to see The Shivering Isles 2 in all honesty. I know that there's no way this will happen because people with either go "Hurr durr you can't do this." Or at the very least, Bethesda will assume that we will do this.

But hear me out, why not have a storyline where there's some trouble brewing in Cyrodiil (Details at 1AM, surely you're mad!) and The Champion of Cyrodiil (Who is Sheogorath of course) wants to do something about it...except he can't. So the Dragonborn is summoned to the Shivering Isles and that's where the first half of the expansion would take place, helping Sheogorath/The Champion restore his/her power. After that, The Champion tells you that he sees you as a powerful ally and he asks you to join him to stop whatever the hell is going on in Cyrodiil.

There are obviously some holes here and there and the details certainly need filling in but I feel the potential in this is monumental...We do have to consider whether The Champion is actually Sheogorath though. Lore wise. Seeing as the Shivering Isles is not a part of the main game and not everybody would have played it (though by god they should, Oblivion is not complete with it.) then this would not make much sense. But then again, Skyrim's Sheogorath does drop a slight hint at him having 'Been there' during the Oblivion Crisis...

Anyone else with me on this one?

I like this idea - I feel your actual stance as a Dragonborn is not made nearly as important in the game as the reality would actually be. After all, you're a figure of legend and prophecy - so surely you should receive more attention, especially since you saved the world, and no one seems to actually have noticed anything at all.

Perhaps, as would probably be the case, the past Dragonborns have created some sort of sanctuary only they can find and enter, that holds some interesting information?

Or even, dare I say it, a way to transform into a dragon? :D

That sounds fantastic! I completely love your idea. To me, DLC is something that can add replay value, not just be one questline and then be done - so anything like a new world to explore openly and freely is perfect to me. Especially something inherently different to the main game, like Azura's beautiful world to Skyrim's harsh climate.

Imagine the armour and weapons you could make there as well. The amber and madness kits you could make in the Shivering Isles was awesome.

Besides, Azura is one of the few openly tolerated daedric princes, so for roleplaying sake it doesn't clash too heavily with someone wanting to play a pious Dovahkiin.

The ability to dye weapons, armor, and clothing different primary and secondary colors
there's no reason we shouldn't have this

More spells. Maybe a system that introduces special artifacts that change some of the current spell's perimeters. As opposed to adding more standing stones or perks.

Like doubling spell effects, at the cost of taking double melee damage.

Giving firebolt a chance to lower fire resistance

Cloak spells can stop all arrows before they hit you.

Give Fireball a chance to explode and leave a pool of lava behind (like Great Chaos Fireball in Dark souls)

Actually just lift the entire magic systems from Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma...
