People who think Al Gore is humanity's salvation.
I don't believe he is humanity's salvation, but I do believe he can aid as with our ever declining environment.

Here's a couple:

1. People my own age. Just a bunch of girls that look slutty and boys that are total dicks but get all the women.

2. People in general. Most of them are stupid and I just can't stand it. (I'm not calling myself a genius or anything, it's just that some of these people are so ignorant it's astonishing).

Okay, so me and my family go out to dinner. We are just having a nice chat with out waitress and it comes up that my brother is in the army and has just returned from Iraq.

Waitress: Wow, that's so interesting!
My Dad (he likes to mess around with people. he also hates people): Yeah, he bought a beach house over there.
Waitress: Really? I bet it's nice.
My Brother: Oh yeah, it's the best.

[/facepalm]
Wow, I know exactly what you mean...

I suppose the way some people talk on msn makes me lose respect for humanity. I can put up with most chatspeak, but some of the is just a plain F**K You English language. Around two hours ago, I was at a friends house and he was on msn. Now this friend has alot of chavvy friends, and a few were talking to him on msn. One of them opened the conversation with 'Iyaaahh'. My immediate response was 'What the hell is that?'.
My friend just laughed, and said she was saying 'Hello' and looked at me wierdly. I understand people shortened greeting to 'Hi' 'Ello' etctetera, but 'Iyaaahh' made absolutely no sense. I have never been offended by someones use of the English language until now.

By the way, If you haven't guessed I am essentially a Grammar Nazi.

Oh, I should probably post an on-topic response...

People who use the word "liberal" like it's an insult and the people who listen to those people.

Liberal is not the same thing as Democrat.
Liberals do not want to take rights away.

Liberal means, literally, one who is a supporter of liberalism. Liberalism is "a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties".

Liberal comes from the root liber which means FREE.

So the next time you hear someone talking about defending freedoms in the same breath that they use liberal as an insult, that should be your cue to call BS. If being a proponent of freedom is an insult to these people, what exactly do they support?

People who like, literally use the world literally to like, literally reinforce their point and in doing so, literally misuse the word literally.

You all know someone who does it.

Also, people who like, completely, like overuse the word "like", like in their speech, like when then don't know, like what to say. Like.

And yes, I was taking the piss on both of the above. You got a problem with it, deal with it.

Actually, on that subject- people who quote songs. Example? My maths teacher. "Sir, I've got a bit of a problem" "You got a problem? Yo I'll solve it, check out the hook whilst the DJ revolves it" (extra points for the song and artist)

I got another one.

This fellow I went to school with was an admitted druggie. Now, I have nothing against pot-users and what not, but he did it all, coke, pot, pills, crazy stuff. He has also bragged about how he once knocked out a hooker on the street with a brick because he thought it'd be funny, and to him it was HILARIOUS! This guy has a girl friend, girls who cheat with him on said girl friend, and the love of half the student body at that school.

And to make it worse, he's like, 5'6" and looks something like a rat in the face. There's actually two guys who went to my school who fit the same description and got the same attention, except one was blonde and one was brown haired.

Which apparently proves the point that if you want to get laid, be the biggest asshole you can imagine and it'll more than likely work.

Also, I can't stand people who insult people for being intelligent or for reading books. Because apparently you are a foolish social retard if you like anything that's intellectualy engaging.

I think I'm learning why I started listening to death metal...
People who feel angsty.

If you see someone one up you in something, who cares? Who cares if there's a perceived injustice in the world? Don't bother feeling moody or angsty, just move on. There's plenty of other things you can focus on. Hell, if people get on your back about reading books, just ignore them and dive back in to the story. You see some asshole get a date? Ignore it! There's no reason to rob them of such happiness, they've every right to it as nice folk.
I'm not angsty about it, it just makes me, again, lose respect for people. I get dates, I get girls, and I'm not one of those people who are insulted for reading. I'm one of the few I guess who are decent enough at social interaction to avoid any of that, but I see it happen to other people, someone will say it to me, and all I can say (without starting a fight) is "Whatever, man...".

I'm not sad about it, maybe a little "confused" or even "frustrated" about the logic that goes into it, but not angsty. I just lose respect for those people, and people in mass. Like, I'm the kinda guy who hates "people" (hate is a harsh word, maybe... dislikes?) but enjoys a group of individuals. And incidents like this, and the common occurence of those events make me dislike "people" even more.

Am I making sense?

And you have Nietzche as an avatar, how are you going to give me a "your being angsty" response when you have the King of Nihilism as your representative picture?
Yeah, seeing as how Nietzsche wasn't a nihilist and was actually very exuberant and life-affirming... you've just shown everyone how little you know about Nietzsche. Nietzsche actually dedicated himself to the defeat of nihilism and, although he saw it as a necessary part of human spiritual development, he did not see it as the apex of said development. I suggest you actually READ some of Nietzsche to understand just how much he despised it. Some topics to start with: his theory of the ubermensch and his exploration of the Apollonian vs. Dionysian dichotomy.
I've read stuff about Nietzche and his philosophy but not his actual books. I do like his ubermensch and "master/slave mentality" philosophies, but I was just making small joke to puncuate my previous defense. Nietzche is an alright guy, even if he did die from apparent syphilis insanity. I'm more into Eastern philosophy myself, anyways. Gooooo Buddhism.

And to the above. Song was "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice. And I shouldn't be getting points of any kind for knowing that.

also the people who dont push open the door as they walk through it even though they know people are behind them. They just squeeze through the crack and leave all the other people outside

Honestly, religious people annoy me.

Science Teacher: So where did all the colored skin people come from?
Student: Tower of Babel.
Me: So you have no scientific reasoning what so ever of where different skin colors came from and assume they all came from a tower?
Student: Yup
(everyone silently agrees except me)

small one-a friend of mine told me he thought the halo series was strategic.
he probably saw an early prototype vid of it, circa 1999. the first Halo was actually supposed to be an RTS. then it got changed to a third-person shooter. now its the FPS giant you know it to be today.
No he played all of them, and says that it was strategic. When I questioned him on how and he said, "Getting 30 kills and only 8 deaths." what the f@#k?

China's government pisses me off. They're not communist, they're totalitarian. I just heard on the radio that two women are reported to have been arrested and placed in a year's "Re-education" through labour for trying to protest when their house was knocked down to make way for an Olympic route. These women applied as the laws state they may, to protest in a designated Beijing protest site.

Now it seems that the only appropriate line is "Arbeit macht frei".
Communist governments are totalitarian by definition. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" assigns to the government the responsibility for evaluating your needs and your abilities. People will be treated at best like children, at worst, like property. The communist governments who treat their citizens as other than property escape me at the moment...

Asinann, the whole feminazi thing - that feminism was designed to help ugly women live better lives - is funny and has its core of truth, but you're probably too young to remember when feminism actually was needed. Today women do earn more in some jobs and less in others, but when I was growing up women were commonly paid less to do the same job even if that job was completely within the woman's capabilities. The excuse was that men needed more money because they had to support families. Even if a woman had children but no husband (which happens for a variety of reasons - a woman without a man may be perfectly capable of attracting droves of the things at will) she still received less money for the same work. My own mother (retired now) was financial director for a county and was paid less than her male predecessor, and even then many men were very vocal that that job should have gone to a man. This is in spite of the fact that she had previously been the school system's book keeper and saved the county tens of thousands in fines and lost grants by getting the school systems books in order. (And no, I'm not the product of a single mother.)

This morning a gentleman passed me on the freeway in his car. Said car was green with a picture of Oscar the Grouch painted on the side. Yes, I said Oscar the F*cking Grouch. He also had silver "22's" sticker on the back of the car. Sadly, his car was sans "22's". I take it as a sign of the growing economic hardship when the Grouch mobile has its rims repossessed by the rim rental place. (Yes, you can rent rims. sigh.) Unfortunately the Grouch mobile isn't the only one of its kind of seen around town. I've seen Skittles, Snickers, and Lucky Charms variants of the same kind of set up. Why someone would pay (or rent) $4,000 rims for a $300 car is beyond me, but I lose a little more faith in humanity every time I see one.
That's one of the funniest things I've ever read. You can RENT rims? WTF?

hmmm...where to start...ah well I'll just make a list shall I ^^

political extremists (there is no utopia! get over it.)
religion (everyone I know of...makes for good movies do.), creationists in particular, it requires a particular kind of stupid to accept their "science" and "reason"
political correctness
feminists, you know what kind i mean -_-
people who reject reality and substitute it with their own, my personal homage to mythbusters ^_^
Jay Leno when he bitches about the gas price, it is indeed about twice as much here in Sweden.
vegans and vegetarians, if they want the animals to be treated with respect, fine. But there is a reason why carnivores and omnivores exist. +I like chicken
Technophobia (Luddites if you will.), now i can understand if they are "afraid" of a new machine/tech that may leave them out of a job...but this "computers are evil and must be destroyed" crap is REALLY annoying!

And finally my favorites: Idiots and suckups!
For instance one of my friends (same age as me) has this annoying tendency to agree with pretty much EVERYTHING I say. have you ever tried having a discussion where the opposite end agrees with you even when you are speaking complete shit, just to see if he disagrees? or he/she changes their opinion as soon as they have heard yours. and if you tell him something that happen in your school that day (true story this...unfortunately). like two girls having a fight in the cafeteria, and before you're done speaking he says "hey today there was a fight in my schools cafeteria too" (we went to different schools just so you know.) now if this happens ones or twice when you talk about your day it's not really miraculous...but when you get up to 30+ things in two months...admittedly he could be a compulsive liar xD

If they are playing a video game like KotOR (true story this...fortunately a different guy from the one above) and they ask where a person is and you answer with a very simple "next entrance to your left" and when you look back at the screen 10sec later they for some reason tries to get into the nonexistent area behind the door to their right (i have MANY stories like this one concerning the same guy and a score of games).

damm bit of a rant this one :p

One word: Skynet.

If we allow the computers to become self-aware its over, man! OVER! We can't let them achieve the singularity and make smarter versions of themselves. Otherwise we can kiss our ineffecient asses goodbye!

I got a bit of a list.

Youth in general makes me lose respect for humanity. I can't respect any group of people that would consider "Soulja Boy", "Hannah Montana", or pretty much anything else they're putting on television anything other than vapid, brain rotting trash.

People who obsess about Tim Burton like he's the greatest director who ever lived. He made some good movies, yeah, but come on...

Gamers who obsess about a game's graphical quality. I have a friend who I play games with on the weekend. He's fun to hang around with, but I swear, graphics are the ONLY thing he wants to discuss.
Him: "Kameo" is the best looking game on the 360.
Me: It looks kinda nice, I guess. Lots of colors.
Him: Yeah, I mean look at that water, it's amazing. Nothing will ever match it.
Me: Uh... Yeah. Up for a few rounds of Halo?
Him: The textures in that game suck.
Me: Smash Brothers, then?
Him: The Wii's graphics are terrible. I can't believe I even bought one.

Parents who can't control their children. I work at a grocery store, and I just have to endure it if Little Timmy decides to start throwing pickle jars. He's breaking store property, but if I lay a finger on the little demonspawn, I'm the one who gets arrested. D:<

Seagulls. I wouldn't say they make me lose faith in humanity... But I don't like 'em. D:<
