We all know some shit is going to go down in the future, so why not try to make the best of a bad situation. Let's assume the apocalypse is the 'traditional' view with the 4 horsemen, lots of fire and brimstone etc. What do you think should be the soundtrack as this happens?

For me, it's a shuffle loop of:

It's The End Of The World And We Know (And I Feel Fine) - REM

Ready To Die - Andrew WK

Jammin - Bob Marley

Spirit Never Dies - Masterplan

and DOA - Foo Fighters

Feel free to disagree, argue, contribute etc

AC/DC (particularly Hell's Bells)

Metallica

Stravinsky (the Rite of Spring and the Firebird Suite)

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor

Night on Bald Mountain

L7 (particularly the Bricks are Heavy album)

Black Sabbath

Judas Priest

Blue Oyster Cult

Nightwish

Iron Maiden

The Doors (The End, When The Music's Over..., Crystal Ship)

And then a bunch of my favorite obscure hippie music. :D

Anything by Anaal Nathrakh (they actually have a reputation for apocalyptic music), Circle of Dead Children or Sunn O))).

I love Masterplan, especially this song. Your taste in music borders on the sexual and I salute you for it.

Music for the apocolypse, hmm? Well, as we all know the zombie apocalypse won't be here until 2046 (2:00pm, March 31st, to be exact). So we've got at least thirty years worth of music between now and then. If nothing good shows up, you can't go far wrong with Highway to Hell by AC/DC, Arise by Sepultura, Rise Above by Black Flag (to pump us up for the zombie's, y'see), or The Day After Tomorrow by Tom Waits (to be played mournfully as we bury our dead and surrender to our fate).

You are all SO wrong. Presenting your fave song to the worlds end. You aren't thinking worlds end. The song to the worlds end would be horrible, annoying, mindripping and anti-climatic as worldly as possible.

Try picturing people getting slaughtered and you in particular getting your body torn to pieces as you are dragged towards the gates of hell, with this playing all along:

Edit: No really! try picturing it.
