Call me cliche, but when the bombs/meteors/chemical weapons fall, this is what I'm going to hear.

Ironically, a local band here in the UK named their first EP Soundtrack to The Apocalypse. And I would choose it every single time xD

I'm more fond of the quiet, tragic apocalyptic music. You know, like this stuff:

Music that just makes you realize, "It's the end. That's it, it's over." I don't think the apocalypse is really something that can be made light of. Despite my firm conviction that 2012 is nothing to be worried about, if this starts playing that night, I'm kissing my loved ones goodbye.

Fixed that right up for you.

OT: Probably some very upbeat classical music, something like Orpheus in the Underworld. For some reason, it works really well with things involving horrific death.

i'd juxtapose it with something really cliched from the '80s by some band with a name that involves bopping of some sort rather than the heavy metal. it'd be far more scary (and entertaining in a crazy, sadistic way) having that playing whilst earth is being destroyed.

Malice Mizer's most bone-chilling goth opera.

I'm no JRPG fan, but One Winged Angel is a must.

& that one zong that's actually about the end of the world.
