The thing here some forget is that this all happened on Twitter, not one of their videos: This all took place in a public place. Spoony wasn't being a jackass to all in a video that had other actors, a script, was taped, edited and uploaded. NOAH ANTWILER, the person you clearly see owns that Twitter account and has a character called Spoony, is the one that has been acting like as asshat for weeks.

His comments have been in bad tasted, some of them of a misogynistic in nature. Lupa just expressed in a very simple and direct tone she didn?t appreciate his comments lately. Noah just continued being an ass (like he had been for week), got suspended, continued being an ass and got kicked out (or left in a hissyfit).

And since he clearly can?t understand why someone, especially a woman, can find misogynist jokes offensive, he continues to make them (guess his ?sorry? means crap) and act like a bitter ass on his public Twitter.

Is Noah depressed? Looks like it, but he certainly isn?t playing Russian roulette. He?s more busy acting like a bitter clown on Twitter and actually doing something productive for himself by working on his new server. So he is occupied with something so that is good.

He was dumped? freaking months ago. Being depressed doesn?t give you the right to act like an ass to everybody. He is not out of a job, heck, he has almost 20000 Twitter followers, his own page full of videos and a forum. He shot himself in the foot with this because he now has more work to do alone and has shown that hibut the reality is that he had very few real content on TGWTG. His webpage is the one that has tons of videos.

For a guy that bases his comedy on hate ranting other peoples work he sure has emokid level emotional maturity when dealing with someone that doesn?t applaud his dump and overused by a million idiots before sexist ?comedy?.

Well, I thought I'd finally toss in my two cents in here as this seems to be the only stable forum that also happens to be filled with the most level-headed people I see (although I've only read through a few pages).

I've been a huge Spoony fan and even found this website through a comment on one of his videos. I've watched his reviews and videos (or had them playing in the background while I did something else) multiple times each. And really, I don't really know whose side to take in the whole thing. It's one of those things where everyone seemed to be out of line. I honestly can't say if anyone was justified in their position. And by anyone, I'm talking about those definitely involved in something. Spoony, Lupa, CA, I'm not sure. Really, I'm proud for those who stayed out of it and/or listed a simple opinion. Joe, Linkara, JO, all of them took it pretty well.

But I will say that Spoony is probably tied with Yahtzee in the realm of entertainment here and I'll still watch all of his videos. I just hope him the best.

I'm a really big fan, but Spoony's really been an asshat for a while now. I can't believe how he seemingly didn't give a shit about benig in trouble with CA. Lots of people work their asses off just to get a CHANCE to get on the site, and he just doesn't seem to care.

Why can't Twitter be just another medium for him to provide entertainment? Why does he have to be Noah anytime he's not in a video?

I mind you, WWE regularly has it's wrestlers put over their fictional storyline through their twitter accounts and what not.

Also I think all this bullshit has cause him to gain about 1,000 followers... so he's earned from all this free publicity, not lost (so far.)

Last tweet I saw of him said he was done with the sever swapping, sooooo yeah.

Some background into this.
This is the original tweet in question:
At the time this was tweeted JessuOtaku had blow it off and it had gone under the radar.
Allison Pregler (aka Obscurus_Lupa) admitted (I'm still looking for the exact tweet, I lost it in all the mess) that she wasn't a fan of Noah after E3/as of late noticed he was in a bad place emotionally and thus dredged the tweet up to rip into him.

This led to a back and forth between them, that escalated into insult throwing.

Right as this escalation grew Channel Awesome, the guys behind That Guy With the Glasses, suddenly put Spoony on a suspension. Considering the amount of parroting Lupa has done of Holly Christine (Human Resources for Channel Awesome), many believe there are some shenanigans behind the scene with Holly taking Allison's side and serving up spoony.

Once the news of the suspension hit the net, and spoony went on a twitter spree, channel awesome threw him a ban, and the a subsequent announcement of letting him go.

More speculation: A lot of Channel Awesome members have been copy pasting to their twitters that this had nothing to do with the tweet/feud, but the timing of events and Lupa pretty much cheering over it makes it look pretty dirty.

Members of channel awesome have been handling it pretty badly too, ranging from people like Phelous accusing spoony of being a misogynistic stalker to LordKat encouraging Spoony to commit suicide.

I'll refine and expound on all this if there is interest.
I'd have thought Lupa and Spoony would have gotten along well considering their personas. Pretty shitty of her to exploit him like this. What did he do at E3? I'd noticed he wasn't posting regularly on the site for some time before now, is there a connection?
Exploit? Do you not know what sexual harassment IS? I'd go to HR and complain about it if it made me uncomfortable. All they had to do was tell him that he overstepped his bounds, and not to do it again, or ChannelAwesome would be liable. Sounds like he went on a tirade, so I can't really blame anyone but Spoony here.

Hope he goes back on his meds and takes a chill pill.

They also told him he couldn't essentially be a "heel" character more, antagonizing fans or other talent. I think that is what set him over the age. The censorship.

When this people are not "in character", they tell you or yoe clearly see they change how they speak. You don't have that in Twitter. If anything, the TGWTG team need a code of conduct to prevent this crap again. They are public people even if they don't like it.

And I think I remmber he was closer to 30000 when this started. He actually says on one recent Twitt: "Delightful to finally cut some dead weight from my Twitter and Facebook friends lists at las". He knows he has lost a lot of fans.

SaneAmongInsane, I apologize up front if what I'm about to do offends you, but I am, nevertheless, going to split your posts into individual points to respond to each of them in turn. I am not doing so to disrespect you, but because I think it is aesthetically ugly to have to keep referencing back in my post to yours when using your own words is much cleaner.

...Also I do it because I edit your posts for grammar, punctuation, and spelling, but I do that to everyone.

Yes, it is. So why are you yelling at Ms. Pregler and all of Mr. Antwiler's upset fans for not using it, but you're not treating him the same way?

Internet arguments are not about convincing your opponent of anything. Your opponent will never admit he's wrong, because this is the internet and that's how people are. Internet arguments are about convincing the crowd that you're right; whether knowingly or not, Ms. Pregler seems to be following this principle and making statements for the sake of convincing the crowd rather than convincing Mr. Antwiler. It is the best possible result she can reasonably hope to achieve.

How "suddenly" did this happen? I mean, Doug Walker was interviewed by...Forbes Magazine, I think?...for how much money he makes from the site. And I'm sorry, most of the reviewers are still "scraping by." I would bet money that no more than eight reviewers on that site (and that's being generous) pay their bills with their reviews; the rest all have jobs and do the reviews in their off time. And frankly, of those who do reviews as a full-time job, a lot of them seem to live with family.

I do have to laugh at the idea that it's somehow wrong of them to actually get paid enough to live comfortably for what they do, though.

Sorry if I'm kinda jumping in here, but I feel like I need to say my piece on this:

In a situation where everyone is acting completely like childish asshats, I'm sorry, but I'm going to give the one with the admittedly severe case of clinical depression more leeway than the people who, for all intents and purposes, are actually in their right state of mind.

Whether you agree with this assessment on my part or not isn't something that can be argued with facts or cold hard evidence, so anything beyond this is just a pissing contest.

That's all I'm willing to bring to the table since it seems we both have our own different perspectives on the rights and wrongs of the case at hand.
Don't try to couch this with some noble excuse. You are siding with Spoony because he is Spoony.

No, just because he has clinical depression is not an excuse for his actions. He is still responsible for what he is doing.
Ooo! Do it again! What else am I thinking, Mr. Psychic?

Not that you got it right the first time when you told me what I think and don't think. Especially considering I have said mulitple times in this thread that Spoony isn't in anyway blameless for his actions.

My point? Neither is Lupa, Phelan, LordKat, or anyone else who decided to lose their shit and act like complete children over this issue. Yes, Noah isn't blameless at all, however in their case? It's just more pitiful for them to be acting this way when they're the ones in their right mind at the moment.

Oh wait, I'm a fan of Spoony so I must be lying because I have no will to think for myself. I'm sorry, you're right. You're far more qualified to know who I am and what I believe than I ever will be.

Look I don't hate Coca Cola because Coca Cole will tell anyone listening that they are a brand. They're not your friend, your old buddy, your old pal, they are a souless corporation hell bent on cash and are proud of it. I have no qualms with them about that.

A company like Disney I hate because they lie to children, trying to convince them that the little ear logo is their bestest friend in the whole world and that they care so much about them.... until they grow out of their target demographic, then they drop them like a bag of hammers.

I'm dealing with the same shit at my retail job now. The companies failing and one of the ways they're trying to get costumers back is by doing a whole ad campaign designed to get people to associate the brand with being "part of their family." and to me? That's incredible immoral. There is nothing wrong with trying to make money in this world or being greedy, it becomes wrong when one lies about it or doesn't want to admit it.

If it's true what you say, and they've always been about money, why didn't they just say "Oh spoony was making us nervous about the potential revenue we can all bring in so we canned him even though clearly a vocal part of you fans would like us not to. Oh well!" instead they gave us that PR bullshit about parting ways so they can try to spin it to make themselves look like they're NOT about money.

Go back some pages and dig around for that Amazing Athiest vlog he did explaining how they dropped him, and they told him flat out it was because he was to dark and CA wanted to go "mainstream"

Get a vacation far from a internet connection. So when you are defending him, it make me sick to my stomach to be a fan of his work.
I don't care if you are saying "grow a thik skin, derpy herpy derp", that is no excuse for not having basic manners (which it seem that Spoony lacks).
If you feel that way, stop being spoony's fan? It's simple as that.

Also it's not like we buy shit from Spoony, his videos are free for us to watch save for any blip advertising.... so it's really not something anyone can complain about- his attitude or the amount of time he makes a video. It's free. If he was charging us directly, it would be a different story.

And I disagree. Right now we're all kinda watching spoony to see what he does, nows the time he has to really step his game up and start producing content cause it'll snowball towards him.

SaneAmongInsane, I have asked you twice now why you criticize everyone except Mr. Antwiler for not just silently using the Block button (or its equivalent) instead of responding to material he disagrees with, and twice you haven't answered. It's fine if you don't want to, but please don't think I have forgotten.

Wanting to make money is not soulless. It is how people in America survive. Without money, people can't buy things like, say, food, or electricity, or a home, or any of the other things that are kind of necessary in order to continue breathing.

I'm just guessing here, but based on things LordKaT in the video condemning Mr. Antwiler, producers for Channel Awesome have a nondisclosure clause in their contracts that prohibit either the producer or the company from discussing the details of an employee's termination, and if either side broke that contract, he can probably be sued for it.

Doug Walker is one of the main people behind TGWTG, actually. He was in Entrepeneur magazine a while ago, along with Bhargav and Mike Ellis for it.

Dude, with all respect, I have trouble seeing some innocuous way to interpret that. Scarlett knows the person who gave him the axe (suspended, fired, whatever, the point is it happened and this woman had her finger on the trigger) and saw fit to THANK Lupa, the one who dredged all this up after a month or more of silence.

I understand you're trying to be more "neutral" about this but sometimes things are exactly as scummy as they appear to be. Forget the thank you thing, not that it's not rather damning, but come the hell on, "new beginnings from other beginnings ends"? I mean that sounds a lot like "so now that he's out can I get his spot?"

Again...how ELSE does one interpret that? Ok to be fair, it could just be pretentiousness, since some people DO apply that level of "woe-is-me" drama to everything but considering the response was an emoticon away from being just "lol" I doubt it. And like I said that's before we begin to interpret what "Thank you Obscuras Lupa" means...

I think a lot of people don't want to accept the kind of idiotically deep rooted intrigue that (apparently!) goes on in Channel Awesome. I don't see why though--it's like any business, people trying to one-up one another and take their place, or gain power through proper maneuvering, or holding grudges because of old insults etc etc. Like I get why people may find it hard to just look at the funny people in their videos the same way again and maybe it's just my experience but NONE of this surprises me or even strikes me as strange--petty and childish yes but not surprising or strange.

Also, captcha: through the grapevine...

I'm with the guy in that other thread, these Captchas have become self-aware and now they're trolling us.
I just looked up the tweet to which you referred myself, and you're missing some important context. Scarlett was thanking Obscurus Lupa for a blog post she did about the importance of context when telling jokes and ensuring that one doesn't make the kind of comments that are insensitive and offensive at best. All three of them had been taking A LOT of those kind of comments from Spoony over the past month (seriously look at his twitter. It's disturbing).

For what it's worth, the tweet in question was also made BEFORE Spoony quit or was even formally suspended, and again, the mysoginistic quote against which all three women stand has NOTHING to do with why he was fired.
