WoW fanart of a spirit healer. I liked its elegance, so I added it to my list of possible avatars.

Definitely not an interesting story I'd say.

My favorite character from perhaps my favorite manga.

It's just a random image I took that I quickly threw together in MS Paint.

I had a pumpkin, a knife and a plan. The rest is history.
That looks almost exactly like a Deadmau5 head.

Bought the Berserk PS2 game(had to import), liked it, started reading forums on The Escapist, joined the site, and picked my avatar out of Google image results for the game.

The End

[sub]if I had an imagination worth a damn I'd make up a story, but I don't so I can't D:[/sub]

One day, the soul of the TARDIS was imprisoned inside a human's body, creating what you see as my avatar. It's from Doctor Who season 6, episode 4: The Doctor's Wife.

If you want to see what I'm talking about then:

Used to have a more original one, the old old man from an M.Ward song:

Switched it to John Marston because I was super excited for RDR, and the picture was badass. I love the use of color and perspective. Kept it since then. Course, now it's less original and unique and all that other bullshit an avatar is supposed to be. For instance, there's at least 1 other forum member using this exact same image right now.

Before that it was the Gears of War logo, which I guess is even worse than John Marston.

I thought this [http://tmp.thegroupofthey.com/137434.png] was really amazing.
Where is that from??

OT: It's a picture of me, with a tophat, not much more to say.

Mine matches my user name, obviously. Dr. Franken Stein from Soul Eater. I'm a cosplayer and that's my best costume. I even knitted the stitch sweater from a pattern I wrote myself.
The darker end of it is that I'm addicted to SteinXSpirit yaoi and my irl boyfriend cosplays as Spirit the Deathscythe. If we're both on the same site he'll make an avatar with Spirit's pic to match mine. [Usually cut from a piece of artwork that showed both of them.] It's an ongoing game that caused me to write an extremely explicit yaoi that topped 15 pages. [Most of it a true confessional of things I've done to him with the names changed.]
[Since the Op mentioned telling a story.]
I'm actually an author with eight finished novellas, so the yaoi is on my personal site as a writing sample if anyone wants to read it. (18 and over only please)

A while after Fallout: New Vegas was released I went to the Kamikaze [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Kamikaze] page and realised that after months there still wasn't an image for the trait's new image in NV.

So I went to Youtube, found a high quality walkthrough video, took a PrtScrn, cropped it and uploaded it to the Wiki and posted it on the page.

One of the admins then edited it to make it meet Fallout wiki standards and I didn't want my masterfully cropped image to go to waste so...yeah.

If you look at the images page then you can still see my original version.

My crudely cropped avatar is from my blog (epic club blog). It's me committing suicide with a chainsaw. I was in school when I had this urge to draw it. I liked it, and now it represents me everywhere. I need to upload the gif version to escapist soon...

It's an image of Tyrael I found when trying to set up an avatar on one of my first forums. The original colors didn't really mesh with the forum's color scheme, so I inverted the colors and stuck with it. It's been my avatar for pretty much everything else since.

A game related avatar seemed appropriate, but I wanted to make sure nobody else was likely to have the same one.

So I chose a pic of the main character from the least well known of the games I was currently playing.

This is actually my third avatar so far.

I like manga. One day I stumbled upon a manga called Vagabond (by Takehiko Inoue). It's a fictionalized account of Miyamoto Musashi's life. He is considered to be one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) swordsmen in the history of Japan.

Yeah...one guess who the guy in the picture is.

i recently introduced my brother and his boyfriend to MLP and inducted them into The Herd. One day we were talking about which pony we were most like. My brother claimed to be closer to Rainbow Dash, while his boyfriend was very close to Twilight Sparkle. I claimed Fluttershy...but they laughed. They explained that my ability to complain had no equal...save for, you guessed it; my whining.

Ergo, I am Rarity.

My avatar is a touched-up image of Nyaa, from Pita-Ten. He has the appearance of a black cat, but is actually more of a familiar/devil blending in to assist his evil-deficient charge.

Why use it? Well, I like the character and the simplicity of the design, for starters. It's also a fairly obscure character from an anime that I ended up enjoying despite not being my style at all. Most importantly, the idea of a subtle and sweet-looking character that's got a lot of dignity and self-imposed duty is one that I feel is suitable enough to represent me. Also it's a touch of darkness in a light-hearted way, which is nice.

And so I used it as my MSN for a while, then Steam, and now here and I've never found the need to change it. I think it suits me.
