I was about to buy a little ten dollar used copy of Saints Row 2.. And the guy who was checking me out knew me because i'm a regular and he asked..

"You ever play Star Ocean 4? You should, its a very good game."

I felt betrayed, because he claimed it was different from other JRPGS.

He Liessssssssssssssssssssssssssss. I really got no stories except for the guy who tried to plug Super Paper Mario with a rather stupid sales pitch. I don't see too many douches in game store i got to.

I already had a girlfriend at the time.

I said it in a joking manner and she kind of played along to it, even as far and getting a pen out. Then I broke it to her that I didn't actually want her number.

Call me harsh if you want, it's not going to hurt my iron defenses.

Do you have ID? I get ID'd more for games than drink! What the hell is going on here!?

I am 18 but I don't have ID, my passport recently expired and I'm getting it renewed at the moment so getting ID'd really does my head in.
Aww, that happens to me and I'm 22! Got ID'd for Saints Row 2, Left 4 Dead and a couple of other things. So frustrating. Unfortunately, I can't use the 'more facial hair means more mature' tactic because I would be classified as a freak. Y'know, being a girl and all.

I love the rules in my country. I'm 15 and I have no problem with purchasing 18 rated games. That's because nobody cares. A 10 year old can easily buy GTA IV alone, the clerk won't care how old he is, as long as he has money. I went to Watchmen with my friends (it is rated R) and the audience was full of 11year olds without their parents.

OT, I bought The Godfather 2 and it had a discount. The clerk said :"It's an offer you can't refuse." I was like "Wow, you know the most popular quote of the movie, now give me the goddamn game, I'm in a hurry."

Oh, and I remember the time, when I bought GTA IV on PC. The clerk was asking me if I'm sure that my PC will be able to run this game. He asked like 25 times. Plus, there was a giant sign next to GTA discs, that said "Please make sure that your PC is able to run GTA IV."

ive been id'd in the local supermarket a couple times recently(not for games though for booze), allways by the same damn guy aswell! i think he must have a memory problem tbh as the first time he asked i told him my age(32) and then since he insisted on id i called my brother over who happened to work as the security guard there, last weekend he asks me again fer chrissakes! some shops need to pick better staff members imo coz theres no way i look under 18...he's the only one who ever asks aswell.

At Circuit City's closing sale:

Guy looking at PS3 games.
Girl: Are you sure these can run on your Wii?
Guy: Yeah, my friend told me the Wii can play everything now.
Guy buys Resistance 2

Ahhh good times.

Wow, games shops arpund the US seem to be quite a pain. I've only had good memories till now, but I have only shopped in Germany and the UK.

Funniest incident was when me and my brother wanted to get GTA 3 we called by a local shop literally every few days to check if they had it. The guys at that store were awesome and kind of got to know us through the constant phone-calling. When we came by to pick up the copy an interesting exchange took place.

bro: I'd like to pick up a copy of GTA 3.
clerk: Are you that kid that kept calling about it?
bro: Yes
clerk: Well, shouldn't you be a bit more excited to finally get it? Why don't you try that request with a bit more authority?
bro: *clears throat* I'd like to pick up a copy of GTA 3!(spoken with powerful joy)
clerk: Here you go.
Awww...

go into Game in Lincoln to buy Endwar, bearing in mind I'm 16 at the
Guy - 'This game is a 15, you got I.D.?'
Me - 'no'
Guy - then you can't have it'
Me - 'aww come on, I've almost finished my GCSEs, i need a new game to relax'
Guy - 'I guess you should get home and study then.'
Me - 'so you believe that i actually am 16 - my real age'
Guy - 'yes'
Me - 'so sell me the goddamn game then'
Guy - 'no, no ID, no game its store policy, we could get in trouble if people see it'
Me - 'its half seven at night and i'm the only customer!'
Guy - 'I don't care'
*i storm out*

i subsequently sent a 20 year old friend of mine, who had ID in there to buy the game for me, they refused to serve him either because it was the last refused purchase

enraged, i have never shopped there
I don't get what's stupid about that. He asked you for ID, you couldn't produce any. Tough shit, man.
fair point, it was just the rediculousness of the protracted conversation, that he knew i was the right age and noone else was there... i dunno it made me laugh.
i got the game the next day anyways
Hey, someone else from Lincoln. I had trouble in that Game when I tried to buy Thief 2. They wouldn't believe me when I said I was over 15 even when I showed them my debit card which you need to be over 15 to have. Luckily my Mum came into the shop then and got it and they were fine.

Stupidest thing ever heard in a game store...

"So I can save $2 by buying a used copy that might not work or buy a new copy that I know WILL work."

Some fat guy next to me was bragging about how he had served 7 times in the Iraq War. Is that even possible?
No, the war ended years ago. in 2003 or 2004. It wasn't considered a war after that, by the U.S. Government.

I hate going to game stores. I usually stop in to see what games are out, then go back and order them on amazon.
or you could walk or bike or take bus to shop...
I love amazon. You can find anything there. Not to mention, it probably saves money on gas.

Incidentally why were you buying enough salmon to fill a river, Max?
Because salmon is the fucking tastiest fish there is.

They weren't. They hated the gamers and geeks because they thought if they did not play sports they would become like a gamer or geek. We told them if they did become a geek or gamer we would make sure to torment them like they tormented us.

Sorry for all the talking.
Yeah, if there's anything else you want to say, we should probably take it to PMs.
Salmon are the tastiest fish ever. Especially when smoked and wrapped in rice and seaweed. With cream cheese. *Drool...

I normally just add lemon pepper seasoning.

I'm a simple guy.
If I'm making it myself, then yes, it is very simple. A little brown sugar, butter, and garlic go a long way. But if I'm out for sushi with the missus or friends? Smoked salmon sushi is awesome.
