"So you want me - the mild-mannered journalist - to act as your communication hub? I can see the value, but there's a problem. I can transmit to any number of computers as long as I know which ones, but I can't receive information via the link. That means if you want to send a message to, say, The Phantom of the Opera, you'll need to send me the message the old fashioned way... or at least via twitter."

Terry thought about it for a minute.

"Okay, okay, I can make that work. Set up a server for you and the "messengers", make a twitter alias and send something that sounds...hopefully pretty obvious to you. I'll give you a heads up ahead of time. Gonna need a home-away-from-home to make some of this work but I think I can work it out."

Terry's brain started whirring through a number of possibilities and variables. For now, contacting three others heroes wouldn't be too complex. Down the road? Well that was up in the air and all depended on how all this went.

Dr. Loveless

"Okay, okay, I can make that work. Set up a server for you and the "messengers", make a twitter alias and send something that sounds...hopefully pretty obvious to you. I'll give you a heads up ahead of time. Gonna need a home-away-from-home to make some of this work but I think I can work it out."

Theodore nodded at the words. "Okay; good luck with the hero hunt. In the mean time, I'm afraid I need to get going. I have an interview with the aforementioned superhuman pyrotechnic musician." he said, pushing himself off the wall he'd been leaning on and making his way out into the street toward his recording studio.

Terry stared at Loveless as he made his way down the street.

"O-okay then." Terry said, his head still winding through possibilities. Inspect the abandoned subways some more, get back to work in record time, finish whatever I have left, start building a server for the messengers, start actually building the messengers, figure out how I'm going to do this whole twitter thing. And then I still got project S.C.D. to work on. Eh, I need a better place to work on that anyway...

Terry train of thought trailed off, still noticing a slight whooshing sound in the air, light smoke hanging in one place.

"Maybe I can hear smog now." Terry mumbled to himself before heading back into the abandoned subway and pushing back the boarded off gates.

Frederick Rolls

Frederick looked back and forth at the two as they spoke. While there was certainly points where he was tempted to address -the assumption that a ghost would have a computer, for once- he kept quiet, intending to see just where it was going. At the end, there was some sort of conclusion, or, at least, sort of a deal going on. Quite frankly, Frederick couldn't really say he was impressed. If they intended to organize something, the initial meeting had to show... well, some sort of organization. Anything.

The Specter couldn't help but sigh -mentally- as he followed the Crick. The youth was the one with the idea, after all, and he was curious about what would happen next. Not much he'd find out with Theodore regardless, it wasn't that fruitful to follow around the man who broadcast most of the stuff that happened around him.

It seems like I'll have to let him know who I am if I'm to go along with this idea, though.

Of course, he wasn't sure how desirable that was. On one hand, Theodore knew that there was something called privacy, he was thankful for that the knowledge of his coma hadn't managed to spread far, despite how much of a role in the media that case had been having. He knew for a fact that if Dr. Loveless had wanted to, people paying attention to the case would have known.

On the other hand, he was unsure of just what Theodore would think of it. Not only was Frederick a judge, his methods as the Specter were at best charmingly sneaky. Spying, planting the right evidence in the right places, manipulating the scene, while he knew that he was doing it as objectively as possible, and not getting himself involved emotionally, he'd probably not trust someone else easily if they claimed to be doing the right while pulling these sorts of tricks.

Not to mention, would I believe someone who insisted they were avoiding the cases they had been involved with as a hero?

He would have bit his lip, had he not been a ghost at the moment. There was that too. Theodore knew enough about the law to know about judicial disqualification. Even a child knew that a judge wasn't supposed to be biased, though it might take a bit more to know that being involved at all, regardless of in how small a way, usually was enough to lead to recusal.

Still. Gathering the heroes is not a bad idea, and if I am the one to let Theodore know, I can explain it.

Right. He had kept following the Crick as he was deep in thought, though it wasn't until the other spoke again he actually paid attention to the hero. For some reason they were headed back through the subways again.

"Maybe I can hear smog now."

Wait. Is he talking about me?

That had to be it, even if the Crick didn't know himself.

"Well, I figure that's what I get for spying," the Specter remarked, and appeared out of thin air. "Good day, how are you? I heard your... sort of successful conversation with Mr. Loveless there. Should have tempted him with that he could demand an interview out of everyone involved every time they apprehend a suspect." He laughed, both because he found his own joke amusing, and because it enabled him to think of something different than the secret identity issue. His tone shifted, rather suddenly, though, he was still wearing the comedy mask.

"So, I assume you'd want help with the hero network? It's... troublesome at best, at least in regards to secret identities. The best would be for people to be willing to give up their other identities, but that would require a huge amount of trust." He shrugged, and turned upside down, giving off an air of something like carefree and troubled all at once.

"Regardless, I don't know if I can actually become part of the network, but I can at least help you out with organizing that mess, if you want the help."

Tim Merridy

"Yeah we've got some great cinema's around here."

"Oh, neat," Tim said, merrily. However, it didn't seem like his dismissal of the cut worked, Tom didn't seem to have taken as lightly to it as Tim had hoped. At least, so his facial expression said.

I wonder if a guy like Tom would be that worried if he knew I was a villain.

After all, while Tom was probably just some average -if good-looking, they were rather similar, after all- dude, the guy seemed to be somewhat righteous in his mindset.

"Look you really should-"

"Hey sorry I'm late ... HOLY HELL!! What happen to you?!"

"-Get that looked at."

"Wow! Those look amazing!" Tim commented, still ignoring the worries, as he saw Rias' wings. "You can do that sorta thing?! That's awesome!"

"Look why don't we stop by a hospital, see if you need stitches or anything if not then we can head to a mall?"

Tim stuck his tongue out, childishly. He chuckled. "Nah, I'm fine. No doctors needed, they ask too many questions," Tim remarked, though, from his voice it was clear that it was just jest. "But yeah, I'm the one with the injury, I know what's best for me!"

Probably! Regardless, Rias was there yesterday, if she put the pieces together, she might come to suspect something.

"As for the mall... that depends, what are we going to do at there? I'd like to watch a movie or something, personally."

The Crick checked some of the supports supporting the tunnels. They seemed thoroughly intact, along with most of the tracks running through the subway system. He remembered seeing a few abandoned subway cars further up the track. Perhaps they were serviceable. Whatever the case, it was becoming clear to Terry that these old subway systems might come in handy sometime. Though the faint smokey sound passing through still bothered him. He wondered if there was a gas leak.

Seriously, what is that?" Terry thought to himself, as the faint breeze passed by him and the Specter appeared instantaneously.

"Good day, how are you? I heard your... sort of successful conversation with Mr. Loveless there. Should have tempted him with that he could demand an interview out of everyone involved every time they apprehend a suspect." The Specter let out a short burst of laughter. The Crick wasn't too surprised by the Specter's sudden appearance, but a bit curious. It seemed he'd been listening in on the conversation with Loveless. The Smokey noise seemingly died down. Terry didn't get a chance to ask about it as the Specter began focusing on the topic at hand.

"So, I assume you'd want help with the hero network? It's... troublesome at best, at least in regards to secret identities. The best would be for people to be willing to give up their other identities, but that would require a huge amount of trust."Regardless, I don't know if I can actually become part of the network, but I can at least help you out with organizing that mess, if you want the help." " Terry looked up at the Specter, drifting along upside down.

"Thanks Specter, I'd appreciate it. And don't worry about identities, I don't plan on making anyone give out their secret identities anytime soon. Anyone who wants to share identities can do it among themselves, but it's not mandatory. Right now, all I really want to do is contact Black Goo and Slender Girl. They're two pretty active heroes and I feel like they're trustworthy. But I can't assume I'll just run into them and I'd really have a more discrete communication system up an running."

Terry popped out a fiddler and held it in his hand. He almost tried passing it off to The Specter before he remembered the Specter couldn't exactly hold it.

"I plan on making a few smaller versions of these and essentially turning them into pagers. All I need to do is give Loveless a heads up on twitter or something. I'll probably make an alias for fake fan club. Anyway, I send a message saying 'Hey, you should interview the Specter!' With the messengers hooked up to a server where Loveless can relay a basic message once the messengers find their intended hero and...well that's where things fall apart. Loveless can transmit what he sees, hears, and even his own thoughts altering them on the fly. So I figure his "signals" can't be traced. That solves one problem. But the main issue is how the messengers are going to exactly find who they're for."

Terry sighed and popped the fiddler back into the shoulder mount.

"Wouldn't happen to have any ideas would you?"

"Well, of course," Frederick replied. "But I assume we'd have to interact a bit more than usual, correct?" He sighed. "That means that I'd have to go through the creation of a different persona, and alter my voice, and so on."

While he didn't mind playing roles in the theatre, that was different. Doing it as the Specter would mean that he would have to remove some of the freedom he had enjoyed before, not being held down by what was appropriate for his role in society and such.

"I'll think about it, though, that's all I can promise." With a smirk, he added; "Of course, I could just go ahead and go all dramatic on people, give them an actual reason to call me the Phantom of the Opera."

That does sound kind of fun.

"Wouldn't happen to have any ideas would you?"

"I have a question, if that helps. Why would it need to be those small devices? It's certainly impressive, but wouldn't a phone or modified clock or anything that would be able to receive a signal work? If the signals from Lovelace," -he didn't notice himself using the man's actual last name- "Can't be traced, there's no reason to not rely on technology that already exists. Heck, he could just send a message on people's phones or something, though, probably not the one they use daily."

Perhaps there was something Frederick didn't see. However, to him, there was no need to complicate matters further. He wasn't bad with technology -as a matter of fact, he considered himself quite decent with it- but sometimes it was better to do it in the easiest way possible.

Collab between Vuvu and I

Ash smiled knowingly, as Sirius's eyes darted back and forth between the painting and her.
Ah, so he actually can be shy!
Ash laughed lightly. "Hey, no need to be nervous. This is all going according to your plan, right?"

Sirius looked at her, a bit puzzled. "Plan? I don't really have a plan, I just thought that I should ask." With a strange hesitation -as if it was forced-, he kept his eyes on her. "Was it way too direct?"

Sure you didn't, Sirius.
Ash was about to call him on it, but his question threw her off.
I mean, for some people, sure, but... What's with the weird look, though?
"Well, with your 'not-a-plan', it came off as too indirect to me, really. Not that I'm exactly normal, but..."

"Oh." He was a bit unsure of what the intended message was. It was too indirect? She had understood it, hadn't she? Why did she think he had planned something?
Perhaps it seems like that because I asked her as I was painting her.
He stopped painting, and put the brush away.
"I didn't intend to ask if you wanted to go to the festival with me before I started painting you. I just asked you because it seemed like a good time to ask." His voice was a little too monotone for the words, and he added; "Give me a moment to think this through, then. I don't really know how to ask the appropriate way."

"Uh-huh..." So much for the shyness.
This is weird now. Probably would be worse if Sirius wasn't like that all the time.
"I mean, what you said wasn't bad. The backtracking wasn't helpful, though."

"I... don't really understand." He frowned, though the frown didn't reach his eyes. "Am I just messing up everything? Are you confused? Or angry?"

"It's really awkward now..." Ash commented, kind of annoyed this turned into some awkward thing somehow.
At the very least, you think he'd be more confused, or more... something, at least.

He nodded. "Yeah. I'm sorry, I... I can't feel emotions, so I'm not good with situations like this." It wasn't something that embarassed him or anything like that, but he always hesitating with telling people. Ash would probably not want to talk to him anymore. "I've never harmed anyone," he added as assurance. "I just don't feel emotions. I know that's weird, and I'm sorry that you don't like the situation."

"You can't feel emotions?" Ash asked; now, being some sort of... whatever it was that Ash was, she didn't have a normal outlook herself, but 'no emotions' could mean a lot of different things. "Not to pry, but I'm not sure I get what you mean by that."
And where does asking me out fit into that?

"The emotions that everyone else feels. I don't experience them. Happiness, anger, sadness, that sort of thing. Fear, surprise, amusement, none of those either. It's sort of... all the same." He hadn't really been asked about it like that before.

"Oh..." Ash didn't know how to feel about that, since she couldn't help but detect some dissatisfaction with the situation. She paused for long enough to be awkward, not sure what to say. "Was it always like that?"

"I've been like this since I was born. However, these last years it's been different, I've... sort of shared my father's emotions." Sirius closed his hand and opened, as he studied it. "It's an ability I've had for a while. But he's back home now, and I'm here."

"And how did that work out?" Sirius's case definitely seemed interesting before, but there definitely was something interesting about his 'sharing emotions' thing.

"I created a bond between him and me, and then I experienced emotions. It's usually preferable to nothing." There was some feelings he didn't like, and he often disconnected himself from the worst of those. "My eyes changed color too," Sirius continued, speaking as if it was nothing.

"Changed color, huh?" Hey, Ash was allowed to find that amusing -- that was her thing, dammit! (That, and the whole vaguely-an-abomination fighting thing, but whatever).

"Yeah. Oh," he added, having just remembered a somewhat important part. "Also, my other powers. They change too."

"Other powers? I didn't know you had any."

"I do. Right now I can create bonds and cancel people's powers if they get too close. I'd show you, but it'd be a little hard."

"Yeah, I probably can't do anything that it'd cancel out." It wasn't like she had a 'natural' and 'changed' form -- she turned into whatever she'd be until she changed again. "But you could change it?"

"It changes on its own. But I'd need to experience emotions." He looked at her. "If you want to see, I could share yours for a moment. You have to agree, of course, and I won't keep the bond up for longer than you feel is necessary." Sirius would be lying if he said he didn't hope she would say yes, experiencing emotions was... well, different from the regular dull nothingness.

"What would we need to do?"

"I need to have physical contact with you when I establish the bond, and you need to agree. You don't have to say anything, you just have to be willing to share emotions." He offered his hand. "Does that sound okay?"

"Heh, alright, go for it." She took his hand, waiting to see what would happen.

Closing his eyes, he held her hand for a moment. At first, she felt nothing, however, suddenly there was a presense there. It was almost impossible to notice. "There," Sirius said, voice warmer. "Done." When he opened his eyes again, they were a brilliant green. His facial expression softened as he smiled.

Ash almost missed the change within herself, but she'd felt something like it before somehow; a minor point, though, when she saw Sirius look happier because of what she'd done. The shade of green was awfully nice as well -- been a while since she'd tried green eyes for herself.

"How's it feel?"

"Warm," he said, and smiled even more. "Warm and light and energetic." Sirius was rather different from before, and stretched. He'd seem calmer before. "Do you want to see my ability now?"

Ash smiled -- he definitely looked a lot better this way, rather than the shallower facsimile that might have resulted. "Yeah, let's see it!" She stood and stretched too.

Is it rude for me to loosen myself if he's showing off his powers?

Sirius nodded. "Okay. Also, it'd be a good idea not to be surprised, since my powers change then." He levitated, flying a little above the ground. "See!" he grinned, then added; "I can do it higher, but not inside. I can also make several people fly at once."

"Of course you can fly." Ash momentarily slumped in mostly-mock jealousy. "Oh, the things I'd do if I could fly..." Momentary commentary over, she looked back over to him. "So how long do you get?"

"Long do I get?"

"Yeah, how long does the bond last?"

"It lasts until I remove it as far as I know, but it doesn't really go over a huge distance," he remarked, and landed in front of her. "I'm still connected to my father too, but he's too far away for it to work. Oh well. Did you want to try?" he said, cheerfully.

"Very much so." Ash took off her jacket, so her phone wouldn't get damaged.

While he didn't need to take her hand, he did. Then she started levitating, and he let go of her, lifting her closer to the ceiling. "How's that?" he asked. "Nice, right?"

Ash laughed. "This is fantastic!" She reoriented herself to speak more naturally to Sirius, and her smile turned into a grin. This would be so amazing to be able to do all the time. "I am so very tempted to divebomb you right now."

Sirius laughed as well. "Well, you could try, but I have a feeling it wouldn't work too well." Carefully, he got her back down. "So, how was that? You've never done something like that before, have you?" The amount of happiness he was portraying was clearly related to Ash's own good mood.

"You can feel emotions, though, that's quite amazing too."

"Yeah, I guess there's that too... But no, never been able to make myself fly before." Ash looked away momentarily, smiling mischieviously -- this wouldn't do any harm, right?
Ash looked back, her eyes now the same shade of green as Sirius's. "Never could pull off the green eyes that well either."

Sirius kept smiling, after all, he was experiencing Ash' emotions. However, he examined her eyes. "What happened to the colour?" he asked. "Can you alter your eye-colour that easily?"

Ash's grin remained. "Yeah, I've got a few things I can do as well." Any further elaboration was interrupted by Ash's phone vibrating. "Oh, hold on a second."

Why now?

Ash went over to her jacket and looked at her text -- it was Anne, saying she forgot something at home and needed Ash to get it from Anne's room-mate. "Oh, sorry, a co-worker needs me to go do something for her." Her eyes flicked back to the 'mundane' coloration.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sirius Hamilton

Sirius nodded, though, there was a couple of things he still wondered about, seeing as he still hadn't gotten an answer to if she did want to join him. There was also the matter of the bond, did she want him to remove it? Or could he stay like this?

I hope I can.

However, it wasn't until she went for the door Sirius finally spoke, still smiling, though the emotions sent weren't purely happy any more. Still, there certainly was enough for him to experience.

"So, about the thing I asked you about earlier... would you like to go out with me?" Sirius asked in that pleasant tone his voice had gotten. He was about to add the second thing, then, in a moment of selfishness, decided not to. If she minded, she'd probably let him know. Besides, reminding her would only ensure that she'd want to remove the bond.

"The head injury." Rias corrected as she dispelled her wings "And thanks, I can do a great many things with my powers, besides, you have no idea how much I save on gas money and car insurance by not needing a car, like, at all." Rias then checked her watch

"What ever we do, be it go to a movie or drag Tim to the hospital to get his head examined, should probably get to it cause I have an interview at 6:30" She said as she gave Tom a hug "Thanks, it means a lot that you'd go and set that up." finishing by giving him a peck on the cheek before breaking the hug and taking a step back.

"Thanks, it means a lot that you'd go and set that up."

Tom could feel himself blush as Rias hugged him then gave him a quick kiss on the cheek "No problem," he said, grinning broadly though his tone held some surprise "It was the least I could do for a friend."

He paused to consider what to do next, Tim obviously wasn't going to go to a hospital unless they dragged him but he seemed fine considering how bad the gash looked. Didn't I here somewhere that head wounds always look worse than they are? Might have been on CSI or something...

"Well.." he said, scratching the back of his head "So long as Tim is feeling ok why don't we go see a movie? We can pick one that gets out with plenty of time left for you to make the interview, and if Tim starts feeling worse I can take him to a hospital to get him checked out."

He glanced back and forth between them "How's that sound?" he said, then almost slapped his head before pulling out the article he'd printed off "Oh! Before I forget, Rias I wrote a short article for my campus paper on you, would you mind looking it over on the way to the cinema? I want to be sure I'm representing you right before I submit it, I'll drive us if you guys want."

Ash

"So, about the thing I asked you about earlier... would you like to go out with me?" Sirius asked in that pleasant tone his voice had gotten.

"Oh."

Ash stopped, turning back to regard her newly-revealed super-powered neighbor. It did seem like they hadn't ended on a note of proper closure with their discussion, at least, and Ash probably wouldn't have too much time to do so quite so soon. A friendly date sounded nice, then.

"Well, my schedule's been kind of odd lately, so I couldn't set up a day right now... but I'm sure I'll have some time during the festival week. I'll try to get a straight answer out of someone while I'm over there."

"The head injury."

"Head injuries tend to bleed a lot," Tim replied, still acting a bit childish. "But fine, if I start feeling worse, I'll let you know. Probably!"

"And thanks, I can do a great many things with my powers, besides, you have no idea how much I save on gas money and car insurance by not needing a car, like, at all."

"Yeah, no kidding!" he said, grinning. Especially so after what happened next.

"Thanks, it means a lot that you'd go and set that up."

Rias pulled Tom closer and hugged him, the other turning red. Tim, who probably should have felt like the fifth wheel just barely kept himself from laughing, Tom's reaction was too good for him to ignore it. He wasn't about to let his doppelgänger forget that for a while.

"Careful Rias, else you might boil him like a lobster," Tim said. "If he gets any more red now, he might as well be recast as a fire hydrant!" He was sure there was a movie-quote that would fit the situation, but he couldn't think of one.

If I come up with something later.

And then he'd send it as a message to Tom, just to see how he'd react.

"So long as Tim is feeling ok why don't we go see a movie? We can pick one that gets out with plenty of time left for you to make the interview, and if Tim starts feeling worse I can take him to a hospital to get him checked out."

"Sounds good, though, we should probably get going then, wouldn't want you to miss such an important event! Lead the way, minions! Evil needs to be done!" he joked -at least, half-way, he wouldn't mind some actual minions- and started walking, assuming they would follow.

"Sure, let me know when you know more then," Sirius replied. "I'll make sure I'm available when you are so that it works." It was easier to see his good looks when he was this emotional, though his accent also shone through easier, certain words sounding

Sounds like she doesn't think I'm weird, then. Even if she knows about my situation.

He was even more assured by the fact that he couldn't feel any sort of dislike or annoyance through the bond. waving goodbye, he spoke a little more.

"I look forward to it! I'll finish the painting too, though..." he thought about her eyes changing colours. "I'll put a little green in the eyes too. Bye, and have a nice day!" Sirius closed the door after she had left, and went back to the painting, only to put some lids on the paint and lie down on the couch, just sort of feeling at the emotions he was receiving. He really did prefer it like this, being happy. And they were Ash's, which meant that there was another person that he could be close to now. Sirius smiled, for no other reason that he wanted to.

Rias

Rias couldn't help but giggle a little at Tom's reaction, though Tim's jokes at Tom's expense helped that as well. Tim, on the other hand was still insisting he was fine and agreed a movie was fine.

"Sounds good, though, we should probably get going then, wouldn't want you to miss such an important event! Lead the way, minions! Evil needs to be done!"

"Minion? PFF, if anything I'm the leader and your the minion. For starters, I look far better in a skin tight leather body suit left pleasantly unzipped then you." Rias said faking insult, but playing along with the joke. "Besides" Rias snapped her fingers and a fairly evil looking red throne materialized behind her. "I can has an ebil throne and stuffs!! Or any throne really ..." she said, as the throne vanished then pulled out her phone, and started searching for movie times and locations "Also, planning and stuff, also a thing I do. she said as she stepped between the two of them to show them her phones screen, on it a list of all the movies playing soon and locations of theaters "So what do we want to see?"

Tom

Tom grinned through Tim's jokes, taking it as little more than good-natured jabbing, though Tim's weird declaration of them as his minions made Tom's grin fade slightly. Rias's reply soon brought it back though, and Tom chuckled at her response.

"Minion? PFF, if anything I'm the leader and your the minion. For starters, I look far better in a skin tight leather body suit left pleasantly unzipped then you."

"Haha, that I'd like to see," he replied, his face remaining red as he spoke, briefly picturing Rias dressed in such a manner before pushing the image aside, feeling a small amount of embarrassment about it.

"So what do we want to see?"

"Hmm, why not that one? It's close by, leaves plenty of time for Rias to make it to her interview later, and I've heard its pretty good!" Tom said, pointing out a recently released action movie from the list "My cars over here if you guys are ok with me driving."

"Wow, I am an idiot..." Terry said in a moment of clarity. "I can just get a bunch of old mobile phones, hand them to the heroes, have Loveless pretty much blink and ta-da, instant communication. I figured the fiddler-messenger system would make things less obvious than just handing it off to them, but in retrospect, a bunch of flying discs probably aren't the best or most discrete mode of delivery..." Terry tapped against his helmet slightly.

"Buuut that still leaves me with the problem of actually getting it in their hands...I mean, sure, I could just go as a "not The Crick", but I doubt I'd ever really get close enough without people acting too weird about it. I should just try to meet them in public, but I honestly don't have time to explain this to every single hero that joins individually. 'Cause they're gonna want a full answer right there, in the alleyway, on the fly..I feel like this would be a lot easier if I was invisible-wait a second."

"You're stupid good at finding me, maybe you can just...drop off the phones in their back pockets or something."

Not really, no. I don't think there's a lot that would less discrete, as a matter of fact.

Frederick didn't speak out aloud, just shrugged -very visibly so on purpose- and leaned back, enough to be sitting in casually on nothing but air. While there were benefits to staying normal -like the sense of taste- there was nothing quite as comfortable as being able to do this kind of thing.

"Buuut that still leaves me with the problem of actually getting it in their hands...I mean, sure, I could just go as a "not The Crick", but I doubt I'd ever really get close enough without people acting too weird about it. "Or, I could just find them, follow them till I know no one can listen in, and speak to them. You know... explain just what the idea is?" Frederick asked, sarcastically. What the other hero was saying was a bit nonsense, and as a mostly no-nonsense kind of guy -pranks and sarcastic jokes didn't count- Frederick felt almost annoyed. It wasn't that the Crick struck him as stupid -a bit naive, perhaps, with assuming that the heroes would agree to something that included reverse-pickpocketing them- but he was... well, he was making everything far too complicated.

"Regardless, I'll do it, just let me know when you've got what you need. Actually..." he made his arm "alive" and held it out. The dark, brown suit-sleeve and his skin-color stood against the white, almost foggy texture the rest of him had.

"Give me your phone, I'll give you my number, though, try not to read it too much or remember it, never call, just send a message when it's relevant to this, but be vague. Just write that you're ready or something like that." He lowered himself so that he was more on the Crick's height. With a sigh, he added; "Also, don't let Loveless see the number. Last thing I need is a journalist with the number to my private phone."

Not to mention, Theodore has my number, so he might recognize it.

"So, phone here, then I'll be on my way."

Tim Merridy

"Minion? PFF, if anything I'm the leader and your the minion. For starters, I look far better in a skin tight leather body suit left pleasantly unzipped then you."

Tim stopped and turned to her.

"Hey, don't decide that on your own!" he jokingly replied. "For all you know, I could look dashing in a skin-tight body suit!" He grinned, patting his slightly chubby stomach, making it clear that he didn't actually mean that. Tim smirked even further at Tom's comment about wanting to see Rias in such a suit, though he only glanced on the lookalike in a -of course you would- manner. He then looked back at Rias.

"Regardless, there's more to a villain than looks! You need that extra bit of evil! How about partners?"

"Also, planning and stuff, also a thing I do. So what do we want to see?"

"Hmm, why not that one? It's close by, leaves plenty of time for Rias to make it to her interview later, and I've heard its pretty good! My cars over here if you guys are ok with me driving."

Tim leaned over the phone. Though he'd seen the movie earlier -as recently as last week- he nodded. "Sure, " A good movie should always be seen at least twice in the cinema, once for the plot, and once for the nuances and details that one hadn't seen the first time. "I don't know if you're a good driver or not, Tom, but at least I'll have the chance to get the cut examined at the hospital if you crash!"

Terry

"Or, I could just find them, follow them till I know no one can listen in, and speak to them. You know... explain just what the idea is?"

Terry sighed slightly. He was over-thinking all of this. All of it. And he didn't know why. Maybe he was worried about other heroes not joining and blabbing about the group every two seconds, or being angry with the idea of a bunch of random heroes acting like a "militia", or just something to that degree. All these complicated reasoning and plans gave Terry a way out, a way to just drop the whole thing if he wanted to. Which wasn't really fair in retrospect.

Plus, there was the fear that whoever was putting together this "supposed" gathering of superhuman villains would try to come after them. But in retrospect, it was pointless. Heroes fight villains and Terry was thinking too far ahead anyway. He didn't even know that much about this whole thing, only the word of one man. He needed more information, probably should start spending more time looking into that.

The Specter brought the Crick out of his train of thought.

"Regardless, I'll do it, just let me know when you've got what you need. Actually..." The Specter's arm appeared, fully in the flesh while the rest of his body remained foggy yet slightly translucent.

"Give me your phone, I'll give you my number, though, try not to read it too much or remember it, never call, just send a message when it's relevant to this, but be vague. Just write that you're ready or something like that."

The Crick reached into his pack and dug around, quickly pulling his phone out from where he kept most of his clothes and other personal items whenever he was "on the job." The Specter floated down towards The Crick and stopped.

"Also, don't let Loveless see the number. Last thing I need is a journalist with the number to my private phone. So, phone here, then I'll be on my way."

"Trust me, he won't." Terry said, turning on his phone. "And uh, thanks. Sometimes I get a bit caught up in things and end up thinking a bit too far ahead or too far sideways, if you get what I mean." He chuckled awkwardly.

"And don't worry, I'll call you when I have everything set up and legitimately need you...also, just to get this out of the way, forget whole planting-a-phone-on-them thing. That's just a bit invasive. Just tell em what's up then just offer to give them the phone if they're not comfortable giving out their information." Terry said.

"We're all 'good guys', no reason to lie to each other."

Rias kinda snickered at Tim's response, and Tom's about wanting to see her in a skin tight leather outfit.
Both seemed to agree on the movie though so with that was settled as well as the means to get there, Rias suggested they get going now, so they could get what ever munchys they wanted before the movie started and get good seats.

[HEADING=3]Dr. Schwertner[/HEADING]

"I helped you and I swear I will help you with your laboratory but now you have to help me if you expect to make any headway. Help me, help you."

Looking tentatively at the outstretched hand, he grew awfully curious in regards to the life the man opposite him had led. From the sound of it, he was some sort of vigilante prepared to stand against this Anthony Ditelli as a one-man army. Rather, a two-man army given the doctor's state of desperation. If there was one way to make money without attracting too much attention, taking the indecent earnings of malevolent malefactors wasn't a terrible way to go about it.

"If vat you are proposing is sat I vill reappropriate sis organizations assets to furser my research in return for aiding you," he paused, leaning in to grasp Alex's hand with a look of determination, "sen your endeavor is undoubtedly mine."

Timeskip

The day passed with no further incident, while plans were being made, it wasn't until 6:30 o'clock that something of notice happened again, and the heroes and villains once again stepped out into action. This was around the time the sun was slowly starting to set, though it would still take hours for it to get dark.

Rias

Rias walked out of the theater with Tim and Tom "I'm never going to look at an Arts and Crafts store the same way again ... didn't even know you could do that with yarn ..." Rias commented as she finished off her drink and threw it in the trash. She then turned to Tom and handed him the article he was gonna write about her, and pointed out a few things that needed correcting before leaving to get read for her interview with Dr Loveless.

Karen

Karen and Annebelle's trip to the mall was uneventful, well, in terms of crime happening. They had hit a couple different stores and tried on a bunch of clothing and eventually found Karen few outfits that worked for her. The trip to the Best Buy was highly entertaining, for Annabelle. Karen was not a 'tech' person before her ten year vacation in a natural paradise, now, ten years later and with phone technology so much more advanced Karen's tech illiteracy, while frustrating for Karen, was a source of amusement for Annabelle, in the end though she picked out Karen a basic no frills phone before heading back home.

Frederick Rolls

At around half an hour past six, Frederick had just finished baking the dark chocolate cake he usually had with a cup of Earl Grey with almost more milk than tea. He had decided that there wouldn't be any more heroing today, not because of that Sofia had complained. Because, she hadn't, she'd just asked him if he was okay, then nodded, and apologized for the disagreement between the two earlier. Frederick had just jokingly commented that they were siblings, they were supposed to be fighting, and it had ended with that.

However, she'd been worried, of course she had. And, it wasn't really fair against her for him to be out playing the Phantom of Neutropolis every night when she actually was visiting him. They were an odd pair of siblings, while they didn't talk a lot on the phone when she was away, they enjoyed each other's company in silence, probably because they were rather similar when it came to habits. They both preferred to sit down and read a book rather than turn on the chaotic mess that was the tv. If there was a movie or a show they wanted to see, then sure, but apart from that, it was better off.

This time Frederick turned it on, sitting in his comfortable chair, Sofia in the couch next to him, both having a piece of cake and their respective teas -she actually dared to drink peppermint tea, he was almost insulted- on the table between them. The channel he turned on was the one he'd heard that Theodore's show would start, on, so any minute now.

"Who is he interviewing?" Sofia asked, having met Theodore several times. "Some singer, was it?"

"Yeah, I think so," Frederick replied. "Why, jealous?" She smirked.

"Very funny," Sofia replied, sarcastically. "Should I be?"

"Wouldn't you know that better than me? More seriously, I'm not completely sure, she had powers or something as well, or so I read. Anyways, shush, it's starting."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tim Merridy

Tim was too sitting in front of a screen to watch the show, though, this was in coffee shop with free wi-fi. The hotel had let him stay for a couple of hours overtime, but he wasn't surprised when they politely told him that he had to pay for another night or leave. At first, he'd been intending to do the former, however, he then realized that his parents had found out that he had left, and, perhaps understandably, shut down his "secret" "just in case" card, which was connected to their bank account. That meant he really was left on his own, and, upon realizing that he didn't have something to fall back on, decided to find a cheaper location to stay at.

Not that there's such a place here, apparently.

He'd gotten a single message from his parents.

"Get. Home. Now."

Which really didn't help him much. They obviously didn't understand how important this was to him! Tim had replied with a message of his own.

"Sorry, can't do that, I'm srsly busy. XP"

He had then turned off his phone, annoyed.

Now what?

He had considered getting more money through the means that was using his powers to rob someone, but his injury had made him hesitate.

It's not the time for evil yet. I need to make it a very, very dramatic return!

Besides, as he had been thinking, he'd gotten hungry, and well... now he was sitting in the coffee shop, coffee and a half-eaten toast in front of him, salad on the side. As he was waiting, he was watching another movie -the prequel of the movie they had watched in the cinema- and even as the show was starting, he kept it in the background, going back and forth between the two, unable to concentrate on either one.

Sirius Hamilton

Sirius had finished the painting and left his apartment something like an hour ago. The painting had been nicely done, captured what he felt was the current looks of Ash, though, he had kept wondering if she was able to alter more than her eye-colours. Most of all, however, he'd tried to paint the emotions he was feeling into the picture, adding some brighter colours and balancing it off with some darker shades. It'd taken most of the day, and he had left directly after, still in the mood to paint, but lacking a motif.

Something with people and glass.

He had thought to himself.

A shop, perhaps? A shop or cafe would be good.

Thus, he had left in order to find a fitting location. Now he was sitting in one of the many parks of Neutropolis, sketching up one of the nearby coffee shops. He could have painted the park, but he had painted a lot of parks, and, quite frankly, they were a bit boring once you realized they were all the same. Perfectly styled grass, and arranged trees, a park bench here and there, and usually a fountain in the middle.

The sun had started going down, and it added beauty to the whole picture, the colours being reflected in the glass windows. The strangest object of the sketch, however, had to be one of the people sitting there, several bags of luggage next to them. The man's head seemed almost stuck to the computer screen with as far as he was leaning forward, ears covered by headphones.

I wonder if his eyesight is bad.

For a moment, he thought about asking. Then he realized that it was none of his business -even if he did want to meet new people- and went back to sketching.
