I'd do telepathy and then have my vocal chords removed. What about Immortality? If I chose to be immortal, the opposite would be to die. If I could die it would kill me per these rules, but since that can't happen (because I'm immortal) I'd have no weakness.

EDIT: Take that!
Depends what you mean by immortal. Are you unaging or invincible? If you're unaging, maybe you aren't allowed to grow or learn. Invincible: you aren't allowed to kill people, even to save others. If you had both, you'd have both curses.

And Easykill, did I mention you'd also be destiny's proverbial *****.

Edit edit: Actually, with the literal definition of invincible, Bleak wouldn't be allowed to defeat other people - even at checkers.

Checkers is stupid, anyway. *sniffle*

What if my superpower was to know every bit of information in the universe and understand any and all concepts perfectly from the start?

You'd become immortal.

Reality warping. Whatever your piddly downside, I just rewrite the universe so it doesn't exist. (Or deputise Haruhi into doing so).

i think immortality would make it so that while living forever you would still age into an old decrepid man yet never dying. maybe to the point of which you turn to living dust.

This sounds like the Devil Fruits from One Piece. Eat one, gain an amazing power but lose the ability to swim and the powers are negated in water.
To be somewhat on topic, I would eat the Flame Flame Fruit and gain fire powers in exchange for never swimming again. It would be a lot cooler to be able to fly anyway.

Or super strength? Super speed? Enhanced intelligence. This only works on powers that replace stuff, or have elemental opposites. Not enhancements or abilities without analogs.
In this order, I'm thinking the inability to physically act with restraint, the inability to move slow, the inability to think on lower planes than meaning-of-the-universe. You just have to take away whatever normal ability goes with the enhancement.

What would be the counter to laser vision? Not being allowed to use matches? I'd take that.

My thoughts exactly. How would having super strength for example come back to bite you? Not allowed to be weak again...? Doesn't really make sense dude.

I'd take lycanthropy (super strength and enhanced senses included). I just wouldn't have to wear or be wounded by silver.

Either that, or I couldn't change back. I could live with that too, I guess. I'd definitely be a hit at conventions and Halloween, that's for sure.

Yeah, it does. You wouldn't be able to physically interact with anyone ever again, because you'd kill them by accident just by shaking their hand.

EDIT: In other words, not being able to use only a fraction of your strength or be gentle.

I choose the power to shrink people, the downside is that I would grow but I can live with that... Unless I outgrow my heart and die.

I'd like to have the power to create things out of thin air... which means I'll never be able to destroy things... but oh well.

Again, I go with Reality manipulation. I guess the curse is every time I manipualte reality, it would be unstable, which means I would just have to take great care to make everything stable.

i'd choose pyrokinesis, because that would be to light things on fire with my mind, and i highly doubt that water will ever touch my mind, so i'd pretty much rock. and i'd set little children on fire for crying at restaurants.

Hmm. i would be a psychic with one of my many mind powers being the abilty to make my weakness null and void. woohoo for blocking my weakness. never have to worry about it again. plus, with psychic powers you could potentially have all the other powers combined. if you want to fly, you pull yourself through the air with your mind. all you got to do is have imagination and you can do anything.

so yeah, i just cheated death, and the stupid opposite weakness.

I would like the power to end the universe

Only downside is after I end it I guess it'll come right back.....

Oooh, semantic trickery time, eh?

I choose to be able to automatically succeed at anything I want to succeed at. The downside, logically, would be automatically failing at anything I don't want to succeed at, which doesn't really bother me...

EDIT: Captain_Sarcastic, surely if one of your many powers was to make all your weaknesses null and void its opposite would be to make all of your strengths null and void? Then you're stuck in a pradoxical loop.

I guess this is a difference of opinion. I don't really view shaking someone's hand without breaking it as a weakness, more just...normal.
