Strategist/Masochist

I spend ages researching tactics for WoW raids and adapting them to suit people in the group, then watch as everybody ignores them.

I'm not really sure.

In most FPS I tend to run around with a Sniper Rifle, shooting on the move and beating people up with it. Working out where people are from gunfire and muzzle-flash and laying in wait in really random places (not necessarily hidden, either - there's something satisfying about hiding around a corner for a point-blank headshot - as is sneaking up on a sniper, beating them up, taking the sniper rifle and killing the person they were originally aiming at. THAT'S kill-stealing).

But in games where the aiming isn't so great or the map isn't sniper-friendly I'll run around as a beserker - short-range SMGs and a bucket full of grenades are the order of the day.

Yet I love RTS games too - ones where strategy works. In C&C Generals, flanking and aerial support and so forth tends to work and makes it really fun (you're rewarded for sneaking forces around the enemy and getting good fire-positions) - but in Dune and C&C Tiberium Wars just getting the biggest force possible and tidal-waving the enemy works best (and I'm less keen on those games).

So Strategist I guess...?

Grazer, bit of a Strategist(cause you need that to get all achievements in DMC4)and a Dominator. I have a constant inner need to get better. And I do get better at the end of the day.

Berserker of course! Nothing better than charging into a gun battle with a knife and still take everyone down! Just the thought of that makes me happy X-D

I'm a Fumble. 100%. The description is so very accurate it's almost frightening.

Californian psychoanalysts say there are 10 type of gamer.

In no particular order here?s what they are (according to them)
1. The Hoarder-Often seen collecting weapons and armour before heading into battle. Is it cowardly or just common sense.
2. The Berserker- If you find yourself charging into battles no plan, only the drive to take as many of the enemy with you, and you find RTS?s slow and boring. Then you just may be a berserker.
3. The Explorer- Games with large with plenty of new place to visit and explore such as Fallout 3 or Oblivion are the bread and butter of the Explorer.
4. The Camper- universally hated the Camper, need I say more.
5. The Strategist- The complete opposite of the berserker. Takes all possible scenarios uses every piece of info to conquer any situation.
6. The Dominator- These are the ones who want to be best at every game and be better than any opponent. One word sums up these gamers: Teabag.
7. The Monogamer- Gamers who find a particular game genre and stick to it. The ones who moan that they don?t want to join in till you put on something in their comfort zone.
8. The Grazer- Often casual gamers who are open minded about all genres and will happily have a go at anything.
9. The Masochist- Takes much pleasure from watching their opponent?s sad little face crumble after they whooped their ass for the 15th time on their favourite beat?em up game.

And finally
10. The Fumble- the gamer who tries really hard but always seems to lose 15 times in a row and ending up with a minus score. However despite all-thumbs-no-fingerness they seem to get on with everyone so it?s not all bad.
I'd have to say I'm a mix between a Hoarder, an Explorer, and a Grazer. I'm fairly open-minded as far as game genres go, and I'm willing to try almost anything, and I greatly enjoy open-world games like Fallout and Oblivion, since it means more delicious content to devour and, well, explore.

As far as combat goes, I like to be prepared. I hoard my ammo like a miser when playing an FPS, never wasting it and taking full advantage of everything at my fingertips. It's not cowardly per se, it's just good strategy. :p

So I'd say I'm 50% Grazer, 25% Hoarder, and 25% Explorer.

Depends on the game I'm playing really. On games like Crysis I'm a mix between the Hoarder and the Strategist because the game requires me to make full use of the suit's abilities to advance through certain situations and you need to always collect whatever ammo is available to you. However on games like CoD:4 where it's piss easy and the ammo is practically given to you on a silver platter, I play as the Berzerker just because I can get away with it and it's fun.

usually a combo of berserker, hoarder and fumbler. Though I go through brief stages of camping.

Though usually I camp in a berserker kind of way...

I combine several aspects for that matter.

1. The Hoarder
I do like to go back to stack up on formerly ignored pieces of gear I'd need lateron after I used up some special abilities in a harder part (Usually at a 2nd or later run of a game)
2. The Berserker
By times I tend to just ignore all the good strategies and rush in, when I know I can take them all, then I tend to just rush into a pack of 5-10 mobs and beat them all up one after one or simultaneously (Best with a DK in WoW or in God of War)
3. The Explorer
Rather rarely the case I still wish to find some undiscovered areas I did not totally look through as of yet or don't know too well. Got me a few nice rewards and aiding supplies. (God of War mostlikely as the chests are not rarely just barely off your main path)
8. The Grazer
Admitedly I haven't tried everything and simulations sure aren't doing it for me anymore (except for MechWarrior maybe) and WW2 shooters or some hardcore RTS or tactic titles, but else I play next to everything :p
9. The Masochist
Ever wasted 2-3 hours on God of War (1) in one of their challenges? I just say: F*CKING MEDUSAS!!!!! DON'T STOP DROPPING HEALTH, YOU B!TCHES!

... Yea, I play too much :p (a tinch)

Sometimes a strategist, though can also be a berserker. But I'm probably a Hoarder, since I always have an urge to check an area for any weapon caches.
