I haven't got it, but from what I've seen rifle is better. The hunstaman has a logner shooting time and can be avoided. It's also quite inaccurate apparently.
Yeah, the huntsman is really fucking difficult to hit someone with, but it tends to be a one hit kill. Frustrating, but nothing more satisfying than a cross-the-map headshot of a moving target (which are almost one in a million shots).

See, that's the thing with the Huntsman: it's difficult to kill with, but so incredibly satisfying when you do.

EDIT:Also, it's only inaccurate if you overcharge it. You have to learn exactly how long to charge it, and then it becomes super accurate.

Stop making noise. My ears hurt. Unclog that forum drain, too. It's full of hair.

I don't play on PC, so I haven't seen any of the fucking awesome ass updates, but I have a solution to most sniper problems I've ever had in TF2:

Go Pyro and sneak up on 'em. Begin circle strafing.

Don't know about the power seeing as I don't have one. However, just encountering snipers with it shows me the thing is as inaccurate as all hell, seriously, I think I've been able to run circles around most snipers on any class other than a heavy, and more, most of the kills I've taken from it seemed more often than not to be lucky hits rather than any skill with aiming on the snipers part.

Bar one of course, when a sniper and I as a spy killed each other, his arrow hit me just as my Ambassador blew his brains out, Sniper versus Spy indeed, it was awesome :3

damn, i went to get this game for the second time today, as my old copy is already installed on my old busted PC, and the vendor at game said "I'm sorry, i can't sell you this." Even though i'd bought the EXACT same game at the EXACT same store not a few months ago!
games are good, but GAME employees are below retarded cockroaches on the intelligence scale.

Oh, and if it's a sniper, then im all for it. who cares if it's overpowered? we still have f*ck all health.
Log into your steam account and re-download it. You only have to buy it once.

You earn new weapons as you complete achievements, which is a lot better than arbitrary XP.
Its not achievements anymore, you pick them up at random as you play, which is even better - you can pick up duplicates and Valve will be introducing a trading system soon.

You might just be crap if they dominate you. :p

I don't know where you've played but wherever I go there may be up to 4 snipers on a team but doesn't mean a single one can kill me. I'm not bragging really, I'm just saying that I don't think it is overpowered at all. If they can shoot me in the head then I clearly wasn't moving fast enough or using cover properly. You could also just go as spy and backstab the FUCK out of them (assuming they don't have the razorback).

What did Valve do to the Ambassador? (I don't know >.<)

And yes, the Huntsman is way too overpowered. This update is also a load of bullshit.

10 Nataschas and 10 bonks? (And a shitload of other useless crap). Valve, go fuck yourself.

360 TF2 players deserve all the grief they get.

The Huntsman is overpowered in the right hands, and underpowered in the wrong hands. Usually Valve tries to avoid that type of stituation. But I do appreciate the fact the snipers will have to be closer to the front to kill. On the servers I play on, there's one person I've seen who is amazing with it, getting headshots left and right, easily the most dangerous player I've seen.

Also, setting the arrows on fire is awesome, if not incredibly useful.

It's not overpowered at all.

It's so incredibly inaccurate at more than point-blank range that, so long as you have a competent Rifle Sniper, the Huntsman Sniper is rendered helpless.

But it may just be that I'm that Rifle sniper. Or a Spy.

Your pitiful headshot problems. I laugh at them.

To be honest, I got the bow today, and was rather let down.

IMO, its the sniper rifle again, 'cept with bullets that are affected by gravity and are a bit slower, and without a scope. Plus, don't think about running and gunning (bowing?), the crosshair's a bit reluctant to point you in the right direction.

And its not an insta kill. I full powered a Scout in the chest and it didn't kill him. And, since its designed to make the sniper get a bit closer to the action, it should give a bit of a health point boost, like the backburner.

One plus, it certainly makes for a more satisfying headshot.
The Backburner hasn't given you health for a while now and I have been shot in the chest many times as a scout and killed with the huntsman.

It does seem a little op, but I would to at least use it before it is nerfed. Stupid new unlock system. It does charge 5 times faster than the sniper rifle.
Whoops, my bad, like backburner HAD.
Still, its true. Every other 125 health class has got some special ability to keep them alive longer. Scouts move quick, medics self heal, engis have turrets, spies disappear, snipers...have a bow? Just 50+ health should see them right, enough to combat scouts/soldiers without feeling the fear.

I actually prefer the rifle, it may just be the maps I play.
Mmm, rifles are safer. But then, I don't HAVE the huntsman yet, So i'll have to wait and see.

Probably just a shift in class balance. Bow snipers give me less problems than rifle snipers as a heavy, I haven't fought them much as other classes though.

I dont really find it overpowered just anoying when the enemy team has like 5 snipers with them. I would say the backburner is the most ovewrpowered weapon in the game

mmm... it isn't THAT good in my experience, I think it just does what its there for, to get the sniper closer to the targets and make him competent against things like pyros and scouts.
That was valve's mission to begin with, so I really doubt it's gonna get changed.
