My comfy truth?
Is that no matter what I do then there will always be people ready to hug me.
No matter how much I fuck up.

Oh yes and KFC.

No matter how absurdly fucked-up you are, there is someone out there who is equally weird who would happily love you for who you are.
What if there is an odd number of people in the world?

WRONG.

No woman, in the history of mankind, has ever been romantically interested in somebody who installs 1960s computer operating systems for the purposes of amusement.

I'm going to stand by that.
Well, first of all, I think saying the "history of mankind" is a little out of place when 1960s computer operating systems didn't exist before the 1960s. Secondly, I actually know a girl who made a punch card interface for her computer because she was bored. Her next spare time project is building an analytical engine. I'm sure she would not find your hobby off putting in the slightest.

Things tend to work out. No matter how bad you think things are, you'll probably come out ok.

It will all end eventually.

Yes that is a comfortable truth for me.

Wow, emo boys, you want some tissues while you cry in the basement?
Fact: You have a computer with Internet access, therefore your quality of life is higher than 99% of all people who have ever lived.
Confident Assumption: You live in a first world nation, meaning you have better schools, better healthcare and more entertainment than 99% of people who lived
Confident Assumption: You've never been in real trouble for a moment in your entire life. Never been shot at, never been in a part of the world with minefields, never not known where your next meal was coming from, and never not had a place to sleep.

Yet some how, you look forward to death, while people who live in constant fear and the threat of danger are just happy to be alive. How about you count your blessings and live instead of just spend your life bitching.
This sums up my attitude about it all. Edit just to clarify my stance I mean no offense to any individuals if your life does indeed suck I feel for you i really do. However those who pointlessly ***** do piss me off. This is not meant as an accusation of anyone its just my own personal attitude on the matter. With that said here is a picture of a puppy to cheer everyone up

And que the flaming. Calm down, dude. How can you understand what you've never experienced? Humans don't work like that. Perhaps it's because of those people living like that, they want to end their lives cause they feel so wretched? Ever think of that?

'Course, that explanation's most likely complete BS, BUT that's not the point. :p

Anyway, moving on to OT:

Most comfortable truth is probably that I will always have books. :) I love my books more than (anyone else's) life itself.

EDIT: And when you think about it, isn't it a bit ironic? The people farthest from Death long for it.

My apologies that I misread your post, I took it to mean it all ends when we die, not whatever is going wrong will eventually stop, in which case I agree with you.

Yeah, that ended up being my point, people who have it best tend to complain the most. The rich are more concerned about money than the poor, the dying value life more than the healthy, etc.

Sorry, I realize I came across as a prick. Not to excuse myself, but as an explanation; I spent some time in Sarajevo, it...colored (to put it mildly) my judgment about people who complain about how life sucks when they take things like running water and being able to walk around outside for granted.

I know everyone has problems in their life, and things get hard at times, but in the spirit of comfortable truths, most problems any native English speakers will experience are pretty mild and not that bad.

Also let me apologize for being a complete dick back to you it wasn't called for and I'm sorry.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Even if you look ugly by normal standards there has to be somebody on earth that will find you attractive.

Similar to several above:

No matter who you are, there is someone who truly cares about and loves you.

What about that astronaut chick who went on a mad driving spree to face the wife of her lover?

Oh yeah and she was wearing a diaper...

Edit: Wait what the hell am I talking about?

OT: Time heals all wounds, and Neosporin is relatively affordable.

Well, how's this for a comfortable truth? Two dicks apologizing to each other on the internet? When does that happen?I think the world might end.

And on the same day as Duke Nuke Forever getting an official release announcement?

Dammit Nerf Ninja, we may have just caused the apocalypse.
