Not to rain down on your parade on anything, and not quite sure if this has been brought up before, but in my opinion this thread symbolizes something (not good for some, as myself) that has been happening with the escapist throughout the years:

Images for instant gratification.

I remember when things were different, when he had actual conversation in threads other then '/thread' 'I agree' '/win', when discussing meant something, when you would only respond to a add something new or to agree and further add something new.

Now? Now those times are long gone.
This isn't a niche site anymore, in a way, that's a good thing for some. In another way, it's a bad thing for other people.

Again, sorry if this sounded pessimistic, but I just wanted to take it off my chest and give my opinion...

Is it really so terrible if one thread allows folks to be silly and enjoy some cute pictures? If this isn't to your taste, there's more than enough other stuff here to suit your fancy.

if you want a decent discussion why don't you start a thread, and how can you see that if you've been around since april.

I appreciate cute things but all these girls are rather creepy. I love the monkey though.

And another thing, if someone has already been quoted and reprimanded for an opinion, do you really have to quote them and reiterate it? People hang around for any length of time before they join in anyway, so that argument is irrelevant. It's just something that irks me, people quoting and repeating things for no good reason.
