Metal Arms: Glitch in the system.

My work here is done.
So true. Awesome game.

Siren and Siren 2. some good ol' fashion horror games that were actually scary. No, Resident Evil isn't scary.

Oh and You Don't Know Jack was a great questionnaire game which is also very old. You literally screwed people in that game!
I actually installed that game on my laptop when I got to college, and we played nonstop for the first week and a half.

I'm am both saddened and angered by the fact that noone has mentioned Breakdown for the XBOX. Easily one of the best mixtures of storyline and gameplay I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing, and yet not a single reviewer or gamer decided to pick it up. I saw one ad in Gamepro, and that about covers their marketing campaign. I played the game on a whim at a friend's houe, and to this day I still laud it, along with Shadow of the Colossus, as one of the best games ever created, and an example of the pinnacle of story-telling in games. To get the full story of what was going on, you had to read lab reports and press releases left scattered around the building by the employees who are trying to escape along with you. Unfortunately, because noone bought it, the trilogy it was supposed to start never got completed, so the few of us who had the fortune to play the game are left with one of the worst cliffhangers in gaming history, worse even than Halo 2, and with no hope of recieving closure.

Freedom Force.

That's all I really thought of when I saw this thread.
That was also my first thought when I looked at this thread. The original is one of the best games of all time in my book and the sequel has a lot going for it as well.

Also on this list, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire. It is so often overshadowed by the Civilization series when its a better game then the Civilization games in many ways.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Admittedly it's not that old but I think it deserves to be mentioned here.

Not sure if it's old enough to meet the thread requirements, but Just Cause was a terribly overlooked game. I still play it, if only for the thrill of jumping out of a plane at six thousand feet and denying myself the use of a parachute, and somehow surviving (The fall damage makes absolutely no sense, but it's a good game honest!)
I love driving a car off a cliff then going into stunt position and being like ahahahah bite my ass po-po!
I just started playing that on Gametap. My favorite was parachuting to about a foot off the ground, going into freefall, and splattering against the ground a second later.

the Descent series, brilliant for the time, especially the original, but its basically nonexistant now.
I'll second Descent, was alot of fun. Terminal Velocity was another favourite of mine from about the same era. It wasn't so much of a tunnel shooter though it did have tunnel sections. Overall I remember enjoying these games though haven't played them recently so don't know how well they would do today.

Another great game, Unfortunatly my computer at the time this came out couldn't handle it very well so I forgot about it till a few years ago. It was kind of fun but like many games it hasn't stood the test of time well.

A little offtopic question but those that have played and praise Deus Ex(and rightfully so) how many of you have played Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines and what did you think about it?

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story-a great jrpg on the GBA that no one seems to have noticed.
Thankyou!

I've been trying to remember that for ages.
My next point, space station silicon valley was amazing on the N64.
'nuff said.

Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel.

Man, I got so far on this game when I had it for the SNES years ago, but I can't get past the third level now. o.o

Baten Kaitos. It strikes me as a massive drug trip in which the twists are WTFery, the gameplay allows me to go make tea when I'm dying on a boss, and you don't have to feel bad when you die cause you can blame it all on luck ^-^ The voice acting is good for a laugh especially when you have a friend sitting beside you imitating how horrid they are.

Oh, and fuck Origins, without the plot of the first game, it can go rot in hell.

Google for it. The series was brought back to life in mini-flash-episodes. No multiplayer, though. So no more screwing eachother :(

Also, time to get nostalgic.
Epic Pinball
Biomenace
Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure
Commander Keen series (<3 Dopefish)
Jill of the Jungle
Heretic + Hexen
Settlers II

A bit more recent:
Constructor (+ Street Wars)
Theme Hospital
Heroes of Might & Magic III

Good times.

Wow, triple post. o.o

Anyone else heard of Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel? I need to know if I'm crazy, or if this game is just hard.
