Here's an uncomfortable truth:

The greatest allies we have in our fight to keep gaming protected by the First Amendment are Bobby Kotick, John Riccitiello, and the rest of the game CEOs we constantly yell at over DRM, lack of innovation, and everything that's wrong with gaming.

They are our BEST ALLIES.

If you really fear nothing, you're crazier than a shithouse mouse. Fear is what keeps you alive.

Then again, I live in a constant state of fear and anxiety.

Everything you do no matter how amazing, life affirming, legendarily intelligent, or life changing will eventually become meaningless and be forgotten. You'll die and the people who remembered you will die and the entire human race will die and our planet will die, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.

How's that for an uncomfortable truth.

Every year on average you swallow about 3 spiders in your sleep.
So if you have ever woken up one morning and your tongue had a funny taste/texture for that whole day, you know you got a particularly juicy one the night before. Just be glad it wasn't carrying eggs.

The best thing for this planet would be a World War that claimed the lives of over 70% of the planet's population.

No matter how much you believe your god is no more likely than the average purple unicorn.

Most people are to some extent bisexual, very few people are completely straight or completely gay.

Nature abhores a vacume.

Friendly fire isn't.

There is no such thing as "friendzone". For anyone. Regardless of how long you've known each other.

"I like you as a friend"/"Don't feel that way about you" is the sugar-coated version of "You're ugly; get away from me."

You rationalize this by saying "I won't go with someone who's only with me for my looks."
But guess what? That girl you kinda like and sometimes fantasize about asking out? She's pretty, isn't she? Prettier than you.

And odds are good that she'll give you the above response in the unlikely event that you actually do work up the courage to give voice to your thoughts.

Bethesda is working on a secret project that most likely won't be a new Elder Scrolls game...

I think its good that most don't participate in the political system.

If everyone did, we would be fucked because the majority of the world don't know, and will
never know shit about politics(Myself and you are probably included.)

Humans have probably killed off more species than we have discovered. (not sure about this one, but it seems believable)
That is literally impossible to prove and seems more like a thought, than a truth.

Portal is shit.
Again, they're uncomfortable truths

OT: No matter how high your post count is, chances are no one on this forum really cares about you that much.

This thread hasn't made me the least bit uncomfortable.... Is there something wrong with me?
No. I think it just means you're a pessimist, and most of the things in this thread validate your worldview. Nothing to be ashamed of.
No, I'm not that much of pessimist actually. Hmm, although I did agree with a lot on here, the ones that didn't agree with me just made me interested with that persons point of view.

Anyways, for an uncomfortable truth.... Look down at your pants, of what you payed for them probably less than 1% went to the kid in the sweat shop who made them.

That's not an uncomfortable truth - that's just called "living in the first world"

Uncomfortable truths?
I hate every single aspect of me.

So does pretty much everyone else. Practically the only girl who ever liked me as more than a friend, is now in a close relationship with a guy I hate. And I think I'm getting feelings for her.

I see her pretty much every day, and I'm dying inside.

How was that for uncomfortable?
I know how you feel, and I can vouch for you when you say its uncomfortable. Its beyond uncomfortable in my situation.

Really makes the other uncomfortable truths feel pleasant by comparison.

I could die a baby or live a full life to a hundred, and what does it matter? When I die all that's left of me is my memory to a few people. When they die even that memory dies.

Well it's not so bad. After awhile you get used to the idea and it just becomes another thing. Just because what you do will be forgotten doesn't really mean what you do doesn't matter. As long as it matters to YOU there's some meaning.

Ok, if I'm not mistaken, that is so ironic it's not even funny.

OT:Someone you know could be going through rough times and you wouldn't know because they're hiding it.
