Metroid: Other M. Every single cutscene. Even the ones that seemed minor, like showing Samus's past in the Federation, felt like a slap in the face to me as a Metroid fan.

Hm... the easy, low-hanging fruit would be Sonic '06, which is just an exercise in futility that goes on for far too long.

This thread reminded me of the last boss in Gears of War, which is completely asinine.

Blood-mages from Dragon Age: Origins made me fly off the handle, too.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't really think of any at the moment.

Grand Theft Auto IV. The mission where Roman is captured by Dimitri and put into the warehouse. You can easily fuck it up at the last guy if you don't shoot properly or move to close as he's holding Roman hostage. That happened twice in a row, but the real kicker was on my third attempt. I finally killed that last guy properly and got Roman out. We hopped in the generously spawned car, which I then proceeded to drive over an explosive gas canister.
Yep. Was none to happy after that. Completed the game a few days later, but didn't play it for the rest of that day.

I think it was playing Oblivion when I was younger that made me obsess over back up saves.

Several hours of dungeon crawling and a boss fight, doomed to be glitched to death.

Far Cry 3.
Somehow ended outside of a mission area (was not even high lighted) and quest insta-failed. Causing me to restart it automatically. Hateful cursing and a 5min break were had.

Far cry 2. At first the game looked really cool and different from most shooters, the environments were nicely done and also more accurate than I though. But then it came to the point where I had to travel across the landscape and I actually enjoyed it, until I found out that every single ************ re spawn every five minutes.

Seriously I once cleared out an outpost to only walk a few meters in to the wild to get a diamond and when I came back for my car every single enemy in the outpost re spawned, and why the hell are they so fucking aggressive, I mean i was once in the middle of nowhere searching for some diamonds when one guy tried to ran me over in his shitty little car. That's where I just said "Fuck you far cry, fuck you".

GTA 4's despawning of cars was probably the worse thing about that game.

Whenever I have a steak of bad luck in Halo 4 MP. Especially when I am constantly getting killed by BR users. I mean Jesus those things are stupidly accurate. Even in close range I have trouble killing the bastards. You'd think a weapon like the AR or Storm Rifle would trump the BR in close range but nope. More often than not I'm face down dead.

I guess I don't have those essential twitch reflexes to keep up.
If you're using the Assault Rifle or the Storm Rifle in Halo 4, twitch has nothing to do with it. 9 times out 10, they're gonna land a five shot on you before you can even take out the shields. That's just what Halo is.

Basically, if you're using either of those guns, you're doing it wrong. You need to use gun that's capable of headshots.
But I like the Storm Rifle. I admit it can be tough to kill their shields with it, but goddammit I don't like the feel of 3 round burst weapons. I just can't get used to it. Plus I don't like having to be forced to use a specific weapon just to keep up. That's BS. If that's what they were going for then they should have just made the only weapons available the BR and DRM.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star.

The game is fiiiiiiiiiiine. It's fine. But something I always hated about it was how obtuse it was, and the necessity for Thing Stickers in boss battles. Aside from that, the game is fine. Nothing special, not super engaging. Just... fine.

So I get all the way to Bowser, and he keeps pulling three enemies in front of him. The way Sticker Star works is, you can have three attacks at most each turn. But you can't choose your target. It goes sequentially with each attack. This means that unless I use attacks that target everyone, I can never hit Bowser.

I know that there are plenty of ways to beat him in a relatively simple fashion, but I don't want to. The game makes everything just too tedious.

Fuck Sticker Star.

I recall fond memories of Kingdom Hearts boss fights. You think you're a badass at the end of the game and then you go back to Agrabah and see this ************...

...who effectively rips out your testicles, shows all the faces of your potential children, and then destroys your very being.
I can't disagree with you more. Equipping the right items and knowing his patterns makes him a near-cakewalk. I think it only took me two or three tries.

Kurt Zisa is, without a doubt, the easiest secret boss in the entire franchise. Meanwhile, I still haven't beaten the Phantom or KHI-Sephiroth, a decade after-the-fact.

Early on in Mass Effect 2 on Insanity, with a freshly imported character. Although that kind of got balanced out later, since by the end of the game I was curb stomping Collectors left and right(Sentinel is such a fun class). So far Insanity in Mass Effect 3 is a breeze compared to what it was like in Mass Effect 2.

Okami... Kaguya's digging game. I decided to get the HD remake of Okami because I had never played it and always heard nothing but good things about it. Holy mother of... everything, I almost snapped my gorram controller in half, it pissed me off so much.(It's still an amazing game though, so I forgave it)

Kaiser Sigma in Mega Man X3... I hated that fight with a burning passion as a kid.

Fighting Sigma's final form as Zero in Mega Man X4. I still to this day haven't beaten that game with Zero, he's definitely the "hard mode" in that game(I'm much better with X). I came ridiculously close once, but then I got too confident screwed up on the pattern and died when Sigma had about one hit left... and I emptied out both E-Tanks in that fight. -.-;

Every 'classic' Mega Man game. I suck horribly at the old school Mega Man style games, Mega Man 9 almost drove me to insanity.

In The Walking Dead when
Lilly shot Carley... oooh I couldn't leave that ***** on the side of the road fast enough. As a great man once said, "You just killed someone I like, that is not a safe place to stand!"

And to think I constantly vouched for her and tried to keep the peace between her and Kenny. Hell, I was the only voice of reason in the whole damn group.

I guess I'll say Oblivion, after installing some DLC content I went in and explored this dungeon, I opened this chest and found a spell book that basically allowed me to just walk up to any undead, touch them and they died it was so fun that I completely forgot about saving... then I tripped a trap and the next thing I knew my spine was shattered in five places by a giant boulder. I reloaded ran back to the chest but the spell wasn't there. :( So I tried several more times to get it still nothing said fuck it but... I couldn't stay angry and returned to it a week later. >.<

Also and for all people out there with Dragon's Dogma I'm sure you agree with me on this one...

Item farming in the Everfall, it can become very very tedious trying to get that one item only to be disappointed time and time again having to kill yourself and hear the same stupid fucking lines from your pawns "No... NO! STAY WITH ME MASTA!" Shut up god. >.<

NFS: Hot Pursuit (the Criterion remake) with its rubber band AI cars and its insistence on making you do pursuits in cars that aren't even as close to being as fast as the bad guys. Ugh, I'm cringing just thinking about them...

The thing that eventually made me say fuck it with DD was the fact that nowhere in the character creation screen did it warn me that the smaller you made your character physically the less they would be able to carry. Now i know it makes sense, and i think it is a pretty awesome mechanic to build in, if there were an equal reward to counteract the penalty. My poor little Bride of Chucky character was heavy as 20 lbs. Overburdened at 30.... my giant amazon tranny could hold 40lbs and was still only average.

Sigh

I did play a single play through of the game though, and hope hope that there is a sequel because it was a great game. Final breaking point was ... only one character available.. if i start a new game, i lose my old one. Haven't gone back now.

Quickest "Fuck this game" moment ever...

PC version of dark souls. I looted the key off the corpse... i got the door open... i got to the first passive undead thing... went "Fuck this. Fuck these controls. And fuck you Windows Live" and never opened it again. Got the DLC for PS3 version. The mouse i got with the game is surprisingly awesome though.

The Dark Souls Anor Londo archers definitely did it for me. Probably the only time I ever really raged at the game (except of course, for the first time you lose over 10,000 souls and think it's the end of the world).

Four Kings fight was more of a "take-a-break" moment. Came back the next day and sat down to try them with only 15 minutes before picking up my brother. First try.

Fighting Belius the Gigas in FFT for the PSP, and then again on a different playthrough on my Vita. That fight man...it HAS to be the hardest in the game...

A couple times fighting M. Bison in Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX.

The final fight in Skullgirls was also annoying as EFF!!!!!

Playing LoL and all your teammates (IRL friends or not) are whining about lag and OP champs and giving up because they're playing bad. Or when they're being too intense.

Any Call of Duty game on whatever their hardest difficulty is. Freaking stupid that one! I haven't played a CoD game on anything but easy since Black Ops. Not worth it!

Oh, and none of us can forget that one time in Minecraft with the Creeper...

Magic: The Gathering - Duels of The Planeswalkers 2013.

M:TG - Hey Vox, you need mana cards? Here, have some high cost creatures and sorceries instead!

or

M:TG - What's that? You need creatures? Nah, you don't need those. Take another 5 mana so the other guy can steam roll you. Wait, why're you conceding the duel?

BECAUSE FUCK YOU.

I swear this game cheats on the draws, and I understand it's "random" but I don't trust "random" when it comes to computers. Makes me appreciate the tabletop version so much more.

That said...I still love the game.

Mass Effect 3 has some pretty "fuck this shit" moments. EA's refusal to give Bioware some decent servers being my main issue. One can not host a modern game on a 56k modem bought from a Wal Mart liquidation house, EA. Step it up.

Black Ops II gets an honorable mention for having a terrible Riot Shield. You took away my one true love. Oh well, at least I still have the Ballistic Blades.

Learning how to wall jump in Super Metroid.

Seriously.

Thankfully, I persevered and continued on, ultimately finishing the game and loving it as a whole... but those were a terrible seven years (may be exaggerating).

Any GTA game. I always try so hard to get into these games, get half way through and then get bored and start something else.

The weird thing is that when I played Bully, I really got into it.

Years ago I was playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I'd played through about 2/3 of the game in an afternoon/evening and I was about to beat Over The Hill. However, I failed to notice that the current law had a ban on Missiles. In an attempt for an easy finish I had Marche regular attack the last living enemy for the kill, but since he had a bow equipped he got an instant red card and was sent to jail. This game over'd me and I lost about 10 hours of progress.
