I kind of hate it when a lot of people say 'Oh I don't need to read the guidelines because forums are easy to understand' and then a lot of people ask stupid questions that are answered by the guidelines they don't think they need to read. This shit never flies on the other forums that I have frequented, but on this one it seems to be alright for some reason.

there are also some people who have their own personal titles. For instance, the winner of one of the Review contests is running around with a King of the Yetis title.

and if you contribute to the site's official content, you can get a Contributor title, and if you're hired by them to do a show, then you can have 'Maker of *said show*" as a title as well.

I have no idea about the earlier ones, as they were fleeting, but I can tell you everything else.

Gone Gonzo: 1000 posts +
On the Record: 5000 posts +
Master Archivist: 8000 posts +
Wordsmith Extraordinaire: 10000 posts +
Nobel Laureate: 15000 posts +
Red Guard: Be a Holy Mod

And the staff can make their own custom titles as well, so there's always the odd ones.

I can add:

Paperboy: 0-50 posts
Copy Clerk: 50 posts +

Yeah they're mostly just post count. A few members have special ones like The_Root_Of_All_Evil and the Mods, gonzo's for having 1000 posts. Next is On The Record at 5k, then wordsmith at 10k and then nobel laureate at 15k I believe

How the hell did one gain such knowledge?

Oh I've been here a while, used to lurk before I made an actual name. Seen people rise up through the ranks. Funny, a lot of the people who have made it up to the 10k+ mark seem to get banned not too long after.
