Deus Ex HR is a really strong contender

Of what I've played so far, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dead Space 2, and Gears 3. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they were unseated by Dark Souls, Forza 4, etc.
Clearly it is far too early to say but I'll say:
Batman Arkham City as the winner - It's received great reviews and has tons of hype and is very popular among all age groups. The most accessible game for gamers that would be considered a candidate for GOTY.
Portal 2 - Similar reasons to Batman except its not as highly recognized by the population as a whole and there was less hype surrounding its release.
The third choice is up in the air. Could be Skyrim, COD3, BF3, Uncharted 3, Zelda Skyward Sword, etc. Based on gut feeling I'd say Uncharted 3 given the success and acclaim of its predecessor.

-Deus Ex: Human Revolution (I went in expecting total mediocre gameplay, and was firmly disproved. Solid level design, with solid gameplay to back it up. Wish the story was better, but it's still pretty decent; albeit predictable.)
-Terraria (I kill things. I build things. It's like a digital Lego set, but with combat. Yeah, I know Minecraft did the same thing, but Terraria caters more specifically to my tastes than Minecraft)
-Zelda: Four Sword (25th Anniversary) - (Don't dismiss it too quickly: This game is multiplayer CRACK, and it was free. Yes, FREE.)

I believe in judging a game on its own merits, rather than just the hype behind it.

Assassin Creed, Skyrim or Halo CEA. I haven't had my eye on any other games so those are my top contenders.
